This campground is in the throes of change. As reported previously, many of the sites were occupied by permanent residents. The City of Decatur recently changed the rules and the park is transitioning to serve as a short-term campground. The sites are of adequate size but are fairly close together. The entire campground is flat and easy to navigate. There is a nice paved walking path near the park and a city golf course. It will be interesting to see how this campground evolves.

This is more of a transient worker trailer park run by the city of Decatur. It appears that most of the people live there full time. The aesthetic appeal is poor with many of the sites being littered with semi-permanent structures erected by the full-time residents. The office staff are not very friendly and are hard to work with. Given these characteristics and the relatively high-crime area, I would definitely not recommend this park.

Apparently, I had a much different experience from the rest of the people who reviewed this park. Stayed here for 2 weeks. They let us pick our site from all the available sites. Open sites versus shaded sites. The computer was down when I arrived, but they didn't require my payment until I left 2 weeks later. Sites are difficult to back into because of many of the trees. Campground roads were easy to navigate. Once in, the site was great. Lots of room, flat & level, spacious, no problems.... Read More

Campground roads were easy to navigate. Once in, the site was great. Lots of room, flat & level, spacious, no problems. The site was completely shaded. Some of trees drop these small succulent items which can attract ants, even on top of your RV. Staff was nice. Have a nice shop for parts. Good location for local attractions. The garbage that I used was a small can next to the common area. We never had a problem with it being full. I'm guessing that in a campground with 300+ sites, there was a larger garbage dump. We just never found it. My only issue with the campground was that the sewer connection was high off the ground (even higher than the tank connection on my RV), so I couldn't leave my grey tank valve open & let it run straight into the sewer. I had to wait & watch my grey tank and then go dump it. It did seem like a lot of full-timers were parked here for a long time. It didn't bother us. I would definitely stay here again and refer others here also.

Got in late saw a fresh hot pizza sign no way to find it. Asked for a level pull thru so we could stay hooked up. Off by 2 both ways had to unhook and level as best we could. Do not use site 80 or 82. Staff is friendly. The place needs work!! Will not be back!

As full timers we see a lot of camp grounds, and have learned that usually the higher prices include better amenities. For the price here we were disappointed in lack of rule enforcement and the condition of the sites. Typically this price would have paved level sites, they didn't even have the drives paved which made our unlevel pull through a sinus nightmare and a must to have our rig washed after we left. Staff was friendly didn't use bathrooms, surrounding park was nice. We were told by locals... Read More

THIS PARK LIKE THE OTHERS HAVE SAID IS 95% FLL TIMERS, SITE WAS OK, STAFF NOT VERY FRIENDLY. CAMPGROUND HOST WAS GREAT. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR MORE THAN A COUPLE OF NIGHTS. RULES ARE NOT ENFORCED, STATES 2 VEHICLES ONLY, THE MAJORITY OF THE ITS SITES HAD 3 OR MORE. VERY TIGHT TO BACK IN A 38 FOOTER.

Extremely glad my experience was for overnight stay only. Totally agree with previous review. 99.9% of park appeared to be full timers. Which in itself is fine. But we have a large rig and this park has limited pull through sites and all seemed to be inhabited by the full timers. We are 55'-60' in total length and it was necessary for us to back into a site that should have been used by a 40'er. Thankfully my husband is excellent at maneuvering our rig. We do not use rv park's restroom facilities. I can not offer opinions on these facilities at this park. I could not use the instructions provided by the park to log into WiFi. The instructions provided did not match with the response I was given by my browser. I could not reach anyone by phone to resolve the issue. This campground requires effort to get to and is not convenient to Interstate access. I would not recommend this park unless one has no other options.

Was supposed to spend 2 days here but when we arrived we turned around and left. What a hole, 80% of the people appeared to be full timers. Looked more like the infield of a nascar race.

My rating might not be fair because they had a flood not long before we were there, so the place didn't look too nice - needed gravel on roads and sites. Many permanent sites with all the "stuff" that entails. Its a city park which is remarkable since it is a large place with low prices. We had a pull through that was barely large enough for our 35 footer plus truck. People kept cutting through adjacent empty site for a sort cut. Utilities were fine. WiFi was useless. Over the air TV. Water... Read More

Lots of places to walk since the campground is part of a huge complex. We'd probably stay again due to the walking we could do.

Great southern hospitality, check in was easy & people working at campground are so accommodating. Camped in a motorhome, easy to park & set up. Wonderful area to walk & bike. We had cool weather perfect for a fire but we didn't have any firewood so I asked at the office & before I could walk back to my motorhome they were delivering it to our site. I would definitely recommend this park & we will be returning.
