We have Grandchildren in Huntsville, so, twice a year when we visit we always stay at Monte Sano State Park. The campground is in the forest, there is very good spacing between the sites and the forest provides privacy. There are good hiking trails of varying length, some longer, and some providing an opportunity for a saunter while enjoying the flora and fauna. A short walk takes one to the scenic overlook where one can sit and look out at the valley below. Bring your binocular to enjoy the birds.... Read More
