Don't get me wrong, this really is a nice facility. But we had a very bad unpleasant experience there. We are still, days later, feeling the uncomfortable effects of it. At check-in we were given a end of row pull through site 8. Our plan was to park the trailer, immediately unhook, and take the truck food shopping. While unhooking we were shocked to discover we were covered with huge biting mosquitos and parked directly next to a swampy, skunky bog. There were other pull through sites on the isle... Read More

There were other pull through sites on the isle in front of us much dryer and open that went unfilled that night. Our site should have been unrented till the bog and severe mosquito issue had been addressed. It all happened so fast we had mosquitos in the truck and trailer also. We ran for our insect spray and skin repellant, but it was to late as we were bitten many times even trough our cloths. My back has many bites through my t shirt. ---- Simple courtesy at the check-in desk would be to withhold renting a site that unhealthy and to notify all campers to apply repellant BEFORE proceeding to park their rig. It ruined one week of our trip.

This is a nice place to stay but don't plan on using the sewer hook-up. You'll need a specific connector that I've never seen in my 35 plus years of camping. They are happy to sell you an adapter for $18.36. WiFi was impossible, not a big deal for me but they advertise WiFi.
This July was the second time we stayed at Tamarack. The people are very friendly and it is an awesome park. The bathrooms are always clean and the sites are maintained daily. We will definitely be returning many more times.
