To ensure the comfort and safety of our guests, please abide by the following rules:
Check-in Procedure Check-in/out Times & Minimum Stay - Our check-in time is 4:00 PM and our check-out time is 11:00 AM. - Meraki Escape is located on a private road, if you will be arriving earlier than 4:00 pm please Contact Us for permission and instructions. - Please read and print or download your check-in instructions so that everything goes smoothly when you arrive for your Escape. - While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement. Meraki Escape Policies - Guests wanting a late check-out may do so for a small fee (depending on availability). Please Contact Us for more information. - Our minimum stay requirement is 2 nights. That said, we are flexible when we can and will entertain shorter bookings based on our reservations. - There are no refunds for no-shows, early departures, or guests who are redirected to hotels because they arrived with children. Meraki escape policies - All cancellations must be in writing. A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking. The remaining 50% is due seven (7) days before your arrival date. Guests may cancel up to 60 days prior to their arrival date and receive a full refund. -For cancellations of 59 to 8 days’ notice; the guest will receive a full refund minus a $16 cancellation fee. For cancellations within seven (7) days or less of your arrival date; there will be no refund. There are no refunds for no-shows, early departures, or guests who are redirected to hotels due to bringing children. Guest agrees that weather or acts of god shall not be a reason for cancellation or a refund except for local mandatory evacuations where Meraki Escape is located. - Your reservation request, payment of money, or taking possession of the property after receipt of the agreement, is evidence of your acceptance of the agreement and your intent to use this property for overnight lodging. - You agree that the confirmation and/or check-in email you received or will receive containing your name, address, rental dates, check-in/out times, lodging cabin location, rent, pet fee(s), taxes, service fees, misc. Add-on(s), damage protection (if any), and credit card charges are incorporated herein and made a part of this lodging agreement. 50% of the total for your stay will be charged upon confirmation of your reservation. - The balance will be charged to your credit or debit card 30 days prior to your arrival date. - Security deposit/damages. Immediately upon arrival, guests agree to notify Meraki Escape, in writing or e-mail, of any noticeable damages or conditions requiring repair or maintenance. - Guests agree to be responsible for any damages to the premises during their rental stay. - This includes damages to the furnishings, floors, structures, and household items that result from the action or inaction of guests or their invitees, excluding normal wear and tear. - Guests further agree to reimburse Meraki Escape for collection costs, if necessary, and reasonable attorney fees. - Any security deposit noted in this agreement may be applied to actual damages intentional or unintentional caused by the guest as permitted under the Guest Security Deposit Act. The guest agrees that if no separate security deposit (payable only by check or money order) is given beyond the total rental amount, Meraki escape is hereby authorized to charge the guest’s credit card up to $5,000 for any damages discovered after the guest’s departure. - If the damage exceeds $5,000, legal action may be instituted against the guest for damages to the property. - Meraki Escape shall provide written details to the guests of any damage within 20 days of departure. - Guest agrees that if he or she does not make full payment to Meraki Escape for said damage within 5 days of receiving written notice (email), the guest agrees that Meraki Escape may process the guest’s credit card on file and the guest agrees not to challenge or dispute, with his or her credit card company, any charges made by Meraki escape for said damage. - Meraki Escape shall apply, account for, or refund the guest’s security deposit (if any) within 45 days following the end of the stay. We do not provide trip/cancellation insurance. - See paragraph 11 for information about trip cancellation insurance. - Right of entry, The assignment guest agrees that Meraki Escape, its owners and employees, or their respective representatives may enter the premises during reasonable hours to inspect the premises, to make such repairs, alterations, or improvements thereto as Meraki Escape or the owner may deem appropriate, or to show the premises to prospective purchasers or guests. Guest shall not assign this agreement or sublet the premises in whole or part without written permission of Meraki Escape. - All reservations are subject to a 24-hour cancellation by Meraki Escape to confirm that the cabin was not inadvertently double booked. - If this occurs, the guest shall be refunded the entire amount paid. - Please note that we cannot guarantee or hold any reservations prior to receiving a 50% payment deposit. - Guest agrees to pay a $100.00 processing fee for any check of guest that may be returned by the financial institution due to insufficient funds or because the guest did not have an account at the financial institution. - Guest also authorizes Meraki Escape to disburse prior to guest’s occupancy of the premises any fees owed to third parties to pay for any goods, services, or benefits procured by Meraki Escape for the benefit of the guest, including but not limited to any fees set forth herein payable to Meraki escape for reservation, transfer or cancellation of guest’s reservation. Guest Duties - Guest agrees to keep the cabins clean and safe causing no unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the common areas and remainder of the premises that guest uses, and guest agrees to notify Meraki Escape in writing of the need for replacement of or repairs to a smoke detector, and replacement of batteries as needed during the tenancy. The guest also agrees to notify Meraki Escape of any problems or repairs needed with the cabin, in writing, and Meraki Escape shall have a reasonable time to remedy any such problems. - Guest agrees not to use the premises for any activity or purpose that violates any criminal law or governmental regulation and may use the premises for residential purposes only. - The guest’s breach of any duty contained in this paragraph shall be considered material and shall result in the termination of the guest’s stay. - There is no smoking anywhere in the cabins and there shall be a $350 additional cleaning fee if there is an odor of smoke anywhere inside the cabin. - If smoking occurs outside, guests shall properly dispose of all smoking materials. - Guest agrees to be respectful of other guests and to keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 10 pm and 8 am. The guest agrees to be fully responsible for all persons staying in cabins covered by this agreement. Hot Tub - The guest is responsible for proper care of the hot tub. - Hot tub instructions are posted near the hot tub. - Hot tub must be covered when not in use to retain heat. - Do not sit on the hot tub cover or use it for storage. - Damage to the cover or hot tub due to misuse will result in additional charges. - Please do not set the hot tub thermostat higher than 104 degrees. - It is not wise to sit in the hot tub longer than 15 minutes at a time. It is imperative that everyone shower before entering the hot tub to remove body oil. - Guest does hereby covenant and agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Meraki escape from and against all liability, loss, damage, claims actions (including costs and attorney fees) for bodily injury, paralysis or death, and/or property damage, to the extent permissible by law, arising out of or in connection with the misuse of the hot tub. Occupancy Limits The occupancy limit is two persons per cabin. - Guests must be 25 or older. - Guests who arrive with younger children will be redirected to local hotels. - There are no refunds for cancellations due to guests arriving with children. - Guest agrees to be responsible for ensuring that the maximum permitted occupancy of the premises is not exceeded during the term of this agreement, and should contact Meraki Escape with any questions regarding permitted occupancy of the premises. Meraki Escapes Duties - Meraki Escape agrees to provide the premises in a fit and habitable condition. - If at the time the guest is to begin occupancy of the premises, Meraki Escape cannot provide the premises in a fit and habitable condition or substitute a reasonably comparable property in such condition, Meraki Escape shall refund to the guest all payments made by the guest. - Meraki Escape shall conduct all activities in regard to this agreement without respect to the race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, familial status, sexual orientation, or gender identity of any guest. Mandatory Evacuation - If state or local authorities order a mandatory evacuation of an area that includes Meraki escape, guests shall comply with the order. - Upon compliance, the guest will be entitled to a refund of the prorated rent for each night that the guest is unable to occupy the premises because of the order. Expedited Eviction - Guest may be removed from Meraki Escape without liability if the guest: - Holds over in possession after guest’s stay has expired; - Commits a material breach of any provision of this agreement (including any addendum hereto) that according to its terms would result in the termination of the guest’s tenancy; - Fails to make payments as required by this agreement; or has obtained possession of the premises by fraud or misrepresentation. Mechanical Failures/Repairs - Meraki Escape is not responsible, nor will refunds be issued, for mechanical failures of non-essential or luxury items. - In the case where the property sustains a failure of a system or amenity (at the time of or during the stay), including, but not limited to, water, sewer, heating, electrical, mechanical, ventilating, structural systems, air conditioning, entertainment equipment, cable service, internet or internet access, or other facilities or major appliances, Meraki escape shall promptly repair such system or amenity in a commercially reasonable manner and time upon receipt of written notification from guest that repairs are needed. - Guest agrees to permit Meraki Escape or its service staff to have reasonable access to the property to inspect and make such repair in a commercially reasonable manner and time. Neither the property owner nor Meraki Escape shall be liable to the guest for damages, and no refunds will be given for such temporary failure or minor disruption of any utilities, provided Meraki Escape is causing the system or amenity to be repaired in a commercially reasonable manner and time after having received written notification from guest that repairs are needed. Indemnification and hold harmless - Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Meraki Escape, its owner, and employees from and against any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by any person (including guests’ invitees) as a result of any cause unless caused by a willful act of Meraki escape or the owner. - Guests agree and understand the inherent danger of traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic and hereby absolve Meraki Escape, its owners, and employees of any and all liability resulting from alleged exposure to COVID-19 while on Meraki Escape’s premises. Every person, including guests and guests’ invitees, must sign Meraki Escape’s liability waiver before accessing our hiking trail or waterfalls on our property. - If the guest neglects to sign the waiver, then the guest accepts posted signage as acceptance of the identification waiver and Meraki Escape is not responsible for reparations, in any form, for material loss or bodily injury. Independent/additional guest activities - Guests acknowledge that their participation in any independent or additional activities offered on the premises such as massage, yoga, reiki, painting, etc. - Are offered by independent contractors who are not Meraki employees. Guest participation is voluntary and the guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Meraki Escape, its owner, and its employees from and against any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by any person (including guests’ invitees) as a result of any cause during any independent/additional activities. Personal Items - Meraki Escape shall not be responsible for guest’s personal belongings that are lost, stolen, or left behind. - If items are found and able to be returned, shipping will be charged to the guest. Miscellaneous - Meraki Escape and the owner make every effort to provide accurate information about the property. - Every effort has been made to ensure that the information on the website and communicated by office staff and Meraki Escape are correct; however, it is not guaranteed. - The website will contain the most up-to-date information; however, Meraki Escape cannot be held responsible for changes made by owners such as decor or bedding, or unintentional misrepresentation, and no refunds will be made for such. - The information herein is believed to be accurate and timely, but no warranty as such is expressed or implied. The provisions of this agreement are severable, and the unenforceability or invalidity of any provision of this agreement shall not affect the remainder of the agreement. - The parties acknowledge that it is their intention that if any provision of this agreement is determined by a court to be unenforceable or invalid as drafted, that provisions should be construed in a manner designed to effectuate the purpose of that provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law. - The parties hereby consent to the scope of such provision being judicially modified accordingly in any proceeding brought to enforce that provision. - This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof, and cancels and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous agreements, understandings, negotiations, and discussions of the parties, - Parking: each cabin comes with one assigned parking spaces in front of the cabin. Additional parking is limited and available on a first-come first-serve basis. Governing Law/Venue - The parties agree that this agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of North Carolina and that in the event of a dispute; any legal action may only be instituted in the county where Meraki escape is located. Neither party shall be entitled to attorney’s fees or costs regardless of who prevails should litigation occur between the parties. Pet Policy - We charge a $45 Pet Fee. - A one-time fee that covers two pets for the entire length of your stay! A maximum of two dogs are allowed per unit. (A portion of your Pet Fee will be donated to local spay and neuter programs. - The animals thank you in advance!) - Only FRIENDLY dogs for now so unfortunately cats or other pets are not permitted at this time. - No cats allowed. - Dogs are welcome in the log cabins but you will be responsible for any damages to the cabin caused by your pet. - Please do not leave your dog unattended in the cabin or on the cabin porches. - Should you need to leave your dog in your cabin for a brief period of time, we prefer that you crate him/her and provide 1 Dog Crate (no bed) in each cabin. - You will be financially responsible for any damage or disturbance to other guests from a barking dog. (Not that we’ve had a single problem with a pet guest!). - Your dog must be on a leash at all times when outside of your cabin. - Our resident dog, Parker, does wonder sometimes and will run if approached by another dog. - If you're dog follows he/she may not know the way back to the cabin. - You will be expected to pick up your dog’s waste from the grounds (cabins, hiking trail, waterfalls, etc.) and place it in a plastic baggie and then in the outdoor trash bin. - Dog waste baggies are provided at the cabins and the Mossy Oak Waterfall. - You are required to have flea/tick protection on your pets. - We have designed our cabins so that we can allow dogs and also maintain our high cleanliness standards. - Flea and tick protection is required to protect your pet and our cabins. - There is no way to control what your dog might encounter while using the bathroom or going on hikes with you. - Flea/tick protection helps ensure that your pet doesn't bring any pests back to the cabin, or your home. - Nature here may have more insects than your dog normally encounters, please protect your pets! The Fine Print - Meraki Escape reserves the right to make your dog find other accommodations if he or she is creating unsafe situations, disturbances, or damage to cabins or property. - Meraki Escape reserves the right to decline occupancy to any pet at any time. - Meraki Escape is not responsible for your dog if it is lost or injured. - No refunds will be granted to early departures due to problem pets.

The three-number rating that accompanies each campground listing in the directory gives readers an at-a-glance assessment of a campground's amenities, cleanliness and environment. All three ratings categories are measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. Less than 1 percent of parks or campgrounds receive the coveted 10 | 10 | 10 rating, which indicates superior facilities that are well maintained, clean, well-appointed restrooms and a highly appealing appearance. Campgrounds are inspected annually by dedicated RVers like you.
Completeness of facilities
The first campground rating evaluates completeness and quality of facilities. In this category we rate interior roads, sites, registration area, hookups, recreation, swimming, security, laundry, store and building maintenance.
Cleanliness of restrooms and showers
The second rating category concerns the cleanliness and physical characteristics of toilets, walls, showers, sinks/counters/mirrors and floor. If a park achieves a full point in each of the above, it receives a star ( ), indicating exceptionally clean restrooms.
Also rated are physical characteristics of restrooms, including interior construction, adequate supplies/odor free, adequate number of facilities, exterior appearance and location in relation to park spaces, and interior appearance.
Visual appeal and environmental quality
This category addresses the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.
