We have stayed at the facility four times now in the last five years. It's hard to find and you will more than likely pass it the first time you go there as it sits behind a lumber yard and signage is pretty much non-existent. I had a very difficult time making reservations as no one returned the three voicemail inquires I left over a two week period. I just kept trying and finally got through when someone was in the office. The park was in better shape than the last time we stayed in 2020. Most... Read More

I had a very difficult time making reservations as no one returned the three voicemail inquires I left over a two week period. I just kept trying and finally got through when someone was in the office. The park was in better shape than the last time we stayed in 2020. Most of the potholes have been fixed and the putt-putt was in much better shape. (You have to leave a $20.00 deposit to use the putters and golf ball). The pool was heated and well maintained. I heard there are new owners and it looks like they are trying to make improvements. The laundry room was shut down but the restrooms were clean and well maintained. Our site was dirt, mostly level and easy to get to. Unfortunately someone did not pick-up after their dog so you have to be careful walking around your site. You also had to be careful walking in the grass on your site due to it being very unlevel with holes all around. We had a picnic table and fire-ring at our site. The garbage situation is another story. When we pulled in we saw the only dumpster in the park was filled and overflowing with a lot of trash all around it! I inquired in the office about it and was told that the trash company is suppose to come multiple times a week and they are not. They are working on resolving that issue. Looks like a lot of full-timers here also. I feel this park is on the edge of being great or awful. A lot will depend on the new owners.

Stayed there for a week. While parking the coach, the ladder got up on an un trimmed tree and a section of it was yanked off. We suggested to the Manager that they might want to trim it to avoid another such accident but she was uninterested and dismissive, saying the owner would never cut a tree. Although the rest of our stay was uneventful, and the rest of the staff helpful, we never received as much as an “I’m sorry” from Management. We will never stay again and have given the place a negative... Read More

This is the second time we have stayed here. First time was 3 years ago and the campground has not improved since then. In fact, the potholes are worse! Everyone is dealing with COVID but we never saw any planned activities 3 years ago. The put-put is sill in rough shape, haven't found the horseshoes and the pool and spa is closed due to COVID but It looks more like they just don't want to maintain it as it is very green. Not ready to go at all when restrictions are eased. Haven't used the restrooms... Read More

We had a pull-thru site which was easy to get in and plenty of room for for our slides.

When you see the picture on the web site, it looks like a nice, spacious park. Instead envision it with RVs packed in there, a ton of cars around the sites of the campers who live there and no trees. It was awful. It looked like a sketchy homeless camp. The RV site across from us had several cars out in front of it and the resident was working on them. We did not feel safe or comfortable there at all. I wish I had taken photos, but just imagine the photo that they post and pack in cars and RVs... Read More

Actually there were 25 of us here for a family reunion. We stayed in RV's and cabins. We have a 34' 5th wheel and had no problem with our site. Due to the season, the grass was dead and there were a lot of weeds around. The playground looked new and was excellent. The pool and hot tub were not working during our whole stay. There is o cable. The two young men checking us in were very nice and accommodating. The park is a little tricky to find. It is not well marked - kind of confusing, actually.... Read More

It sits just off Hwy 101 but the road noise was not an issue. What was an issue were the people who did not comply with the noise curfews. Sadly we had two nights with two different issues. One brought the sheriff.
I understand this park was recently purchased a couple of years ago and management is making improvements. I know that takes time and I see this park having a ton of potential. However, it has a ways to go - starting with the noise problem.

This is an old KOA that is being refurbished. The people at the desk, a young couple, were extremely helpful and cheerful. The playground and pool have been freshly redone and looks great. There is a dog run of good size and fairly clean. For those who imbibe, there is an extensive selection of craft beers in the campground store. The campsites themselves are a little long in the tooth and could use some TLC. However they were level and all of the utilities worked fine. While close to highway... Read More

While close to highway 101 there was little noise and the campground in general was nice and quite. Most of the sites were pull-thru and easily navigated. Should we find our way to Arcata and Eureka again we would be happy to stay there. A good value for your money.

We stayed 2 nights at this park and the staff was very courteous and helpful at check-in. However, our spot was not level and it had gopher holes or some kind of holes all around including right where we entered our unit. We had to be very careful entering/exiting not to step in one and twisting an ankle. The playground was right behind our unit and appeared to be well kept and clean. We did not need this amenity and the noise did not bother us because we were gone during the day. At night, it was... Read More

50 amp not working good-low voltage Garbage cans were full for days. Spaces are not level-our tires were off the ground Did not use restrooms. Pool and jacuzzi were clean, playground and putt-putt good.
Warning the voltage service is very low at this facility. My surge and low voltage box kept turning the power off to my motor home. Maintenance personnel and I checked my site and two adjacent sites and the voltage was only 104 V. Low voltage can damage the electronic systems in your motor home. Therefore, I would not use their power connection. The operations manager blamed the problem on old buried aluminum wiring. Due to our late arrival, we could not find another local available campsite.... Read More

Due to our late arrival, we could not find another local available campsite. The management would not give me a discount even though I had paid for a site with electric and water. Also, the restrooms were dirty and there is no cable or TV service at this location. This is not the type of service we expect from a Good Sam facility at any price.
