We were really looking forward to this park and it is in an awesome location but there more disappointments than pleasurable experiences here. 1. Thousand Trails just bought this RV Park and that shows. Less of a family owned feel and due to Covid issues they are very short staffed. No one met us at the check-in location just our name on a board with our site number and basic info.
2. The original park is all that shows on the website map, but they have a whole new section that has some nice amenities, but as others have said is open to the freeway (lots of freeway noise) and feels more like a parking lot than an RV park.
3. You have no choice on site location and so we were expecting something up among the cypress trees and near the amenities of the store, but we got the parking lot feeling spot down below. Twice we tried to connect with someone up at the office/store but never anyone there.
4. The new bathrooms were nice, but never cleaned over the 4 days we were there and the handle for the handicap shower was broken so my handicapped daughter could not use the wand and sit in the seat, but had to use the regular shower head. This is again probably due to having rouble getting more employees post-Covid, but come on you could hire a service to come by and clean or something!
5. The new sites had pavers, fire pits and picnic tables but the fire pits were in awkward places on some and not all of the sites were level. Ours was.
6. The new section had nice landscaping but it is all immature plants and will look nice when they grow in, but for now, like I said it just feels like a parking lot.
7. In the new section almost half of the driveway lights were malfunctioning. These were 4' high lights to see by and were nice since they would not be an issue for sleeping but made it easier to walk around. However because they were not working I walked by my car at night and the car stop was in the dark and I had a pretty bad fall. I am trying to communicate with the owners or Thousand Trails about this fall. Not trying to get money out of them just trying to get them to fix this so it does not happen to anyone else.

We paid over $350 for two nights and then had a site so close to the very busy highway that the noise was unbelievable - all night long. We had left a day early and forfeited over $150 just to get a good nights sleep. Please don’t bother with this over priced campground literally right on the highway.
Wifi service is difficult to manage. If you have to do any work here, you may be out of luck. If you have to do work here after 8pm then you may really be out of luck because no one will answer the phone. If you do manage to get online, it is really really REALLY slow and you still may not get your work done that way. Hopefully, you just don't have work or your cell service holds out. Called and left 2 messages when we were struggling with above and still haven't gotten a call back. Manager said she didn't get the messages. She also states there is an after hours number posted by the door (why this information isn't available in the packet I don't know). Anyway, I did walk up to the office and I didn't see it.
This park is very expensive.
It is also very close to the Hwy. We ran a fan most of the night to keep the noise at bay, but at 6 am or so the trucks running by were just too much. So, that was an early start to the day.
Neither management nor "Thousand Trails" seem to care about any of this.

Dates of stay were October 31-November 2, 2019. My only question is, "What the heck happened?" New owners? New management? I stayed here last year at about the same time, and what a difference a year made. Good points: right across from beach access, grounds are well-kept, friendly staff, pet friendly with a large empty spot for dog walking just outside the park (of course you've also got miles of nearly-deserted beach). Main bad points: restrooms (at least for guys' side) were filthy. All... Read More

Main bad points: restrooms (at least for guys' side) were filthy. All the time. I mentioned it after no cleaning after my first night, and that resulted in a quick cleanup later in the day. Next day, same problems again: paper towels and toilet paper everywhere, shower drains not working, etc. Also, WiFi only worked in the recreation room. According to another longer-stay visitor, it hadn't been working in the park for over a month. Traffic noise is pretty loud, pretty constant, but I knew this ahead of time. Good earplugs are a must.

Have stayed here a number of times and really like it (about 1 per month during the nice weather). Friendly staff and flexible with cancellations when we've had to cancel due to weather. Only downside is that it's next to the freeway so can be noisy at times
Great place right off the freeway. Very nice large parking stalls and a great facility all around. A definite stop if heading towards san fran..
Very unhappy with this campground. First off the staff was very rude. You asked questions and you got very rude short answers. the maintenance staff was not nice at all. they will not give you any help what so ever. The day we went to leave they accused us of dumping sewer on the ground. After we drained our tanks in the full hook up site, my son inlaw sprayed off the side of the camper from all the dust. then a maintenance staff member came over and threatened to call the police on him, he asked... The day we went to leave they accused us of dumping sewer on the ground. After we drained our tanks in the full hook up site, my son inlaw sprayed off the side of the camper from all the dust. then a maintenance staff member came over and threatened to call the police on him, he asked what for? what did i do? The guy said you dumped sewer on the ground. he said he did not. the giy asked then way is the ground wet? I just hosed off the said of the camper from all the dust. The neighbor saw what was happening and stepped up and said, he saw him wash off the side of his RV nothing more and that your in the wrong and need to back off. The staff member continued to stare at he and walked away with no apologies what so ever. So we complain when we left about the problem and they flat out told us we were never allowed to come back.Even the neighbor came with us to come plain and we both got told never to return. no buddy even yelled at them but we got treated as we were in the wrong. The bathrooms very very dirty, also very small. They need to be cleaned badly. The park had smaller sits but they were clean
I will never return and would not recommend going there.

Beautiful place. We were in a 35ft 5th wheel and had room to park our truck in the site. Fire pits. BBQ pit. Picnic table in each site. Very clean and maintained very well. Very small "store" bare necessities but what the heck, you're just minutes from Walmart. Quarter mile hike to the dog beach. Very nice walk. Bathrooms are on the older side, but very well kept. Under new management now for a couple of years. I think they're doing a great job. 15 minute drive to Monterey and the aquarium.... Read More

This park has a strict check in time. You can check in earlier but have to'pull out of the park and park in the street. They say this is so they can clean the site but we drove past our site and it was perfectly clean as were many others. If someone is waiting to check in, nothing can get into the park until they move. Their hi speed wifi that they are so proud of is really slow, sites are small with little room to back into. This is a small park and they could do a lot better
Everything was great. Love the staff they were so helpful and so nice. The guys helped my husband back this in and that meant a lot to me. The lady in the office was so nice . Just a great place to stay wish we could be here longer.
Stayed at Marina Dunes one night on our way to Camarillo. And our FIRST over nighter in our new RV/C-Class. Check in ladies were very nice. They said it is under new mgmt so trying to improve things. Very ez check in and not many RV's because Jan I suppose. Walk to the beach was awesome for January. Our 2 dogs loved it and we had the whole beach to ourselves! Thunderstorms all night but park was quiet. We enjoyed it there. Vacaville, CA
States that it is a Resort, does not have a swimming pool, no hot tub no activities. Cigarette butts all over, the only night light in the park was the huge spot light on their sign right behind out site. The long turn next to us didn't clean up after his dog. Constant road noise. They messed up our reservation, wrong size for the RV so the site was very small, and more dirt than pea stone would not stay again
Not impressed with this Park. Although Facility is Clean and Quiet there are a few problems. We have a Class C motor home with no Tow Vehicle. There is Very Little to do at Park except a Nice walk to the beach! No Pool but do have Volleyball and Horse Shoes. Didn't see anyone playing either! The Store is Very poorly stocked! They have ice cream, soda and a few little snacks! There is no milk, eggs, butter, bread lunch meat, beer or wine! There are no Stores or Restaurants within walking distance! So... Read More

There are no Stores or Restaurants within walking distance!
So if no Tow Vehicle this Park is like an Island! (If you don't bring it there you won't find it there!)
The Price is Very High for amenities!
Won't be going back to this Park! There are way better Parks for the money that actually have a few groceries in Store! Not here!

We were placed next to a full time resident who had a dog but didn't pick up after it. She was disabled and, she said, was unable to do so. The smell was horrible and the poop was onto our lot as well. She became agitated with us and we had to go to the day manager. She stated that she would have someone clean up. After about an hour we went again to the office and met the night manager. She was very responsive. It didn't make for a pleasant stay. There seems to be a lot of full time residence... Read More

It didn't make for a pleasant stay. There seems to be a lot of full time residence there. I would not recommend this park.

The sites are very tight but also very nice and you have some privacy but the bathrooms are filthy - I'm not really particular but these looked like they hadn't been deep cleaned ever :( - the store was pretty empty of goods so that was also disappointing. The location is great and a short walk to the beach but this could be such a better place with some TLC - $70 felt like a lot for the amenities - would have stayed longer if it was cleaner....
Way over priced for what you get. At $70.00 a night it should be more maintained, we pulled up to our spot and had to sweep all the mud and rocks off the brick patio floor where the table was. I would expect for the price per night that they would clean.
We were pleasantly surprised. The facilities are clean, the trees at each site are mature and provide privacy, and the site is right next to the dunes and beach. It's a .3 mile walk to the beach and it's glorious (or if you have mobility issues, just jump in your car/truck and head back up the road to the park which provides easy access to the public and a restroom). There is a nice picnic table at the site as well as a pavered patio. The site is fairly level, just some light gravel. One thing I... Read More

I didn't mind the tents behind us. They were using their fire pits, and it was nice to see people actually outside and enjoying nature.
The person who checked us in was quick, and she let us check in a bit early because we got in sooner than expected. That was very kind.
It was a short 15-minute drive to Monterey and Cannery Row. We got to hit the town and make it back in time for the sunset. There is a Costco not too far down the highway in case you need to stock up.
We will absolutely come back here. Very pleased.

The bathrooms were disgustingly dirty with carpet stains and the showers were so dark you could not find your clothes when finished with shower. The shower was filthy and the soap dishes were broken. Outside the bathroom was a hallway that was not swept the 4 days we stayed there, lots of leaves blown in. Close to the beach.
The campsite is in a good location for the beach and close enough to Monterey and Carmel but it is also very noisy because of the nearby Freeway which seemed to be busy both day and night. Unfortunately, the shower facilities were dirty and not completely functional with blocked drains and some showers out of order and insufficient lighting!!. They were all back-in sites and behind us we had campers in tents who all seemed to think it was OK to wander through our site to access the roadway!
