This was our second time staying at this park. We’ve enjoyed our stay both times. Nice access to the river and our site was under the redwoods.
We had a wonderful stay at Giant Redwoods RV Park. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The grounds were very well maintained. We had a riverfront site and it was perfect. Lots of space between RV's and we had a great view of the river. We stayed Wed - Sat and the weekday nights were super quiet and tranquil. Families rolled in on Friday night so it was a bit more crowded but still very pleasant. Everyone was super friendly. We would definitely stay again.
The road back to the campground make us question our decision to stay there. Once you get back to the entrance, everything changed. Very nice place to stay with lots of large trees & it is right at the start of the larger redwoods. It is about 10 miles to a town that had a good-sized grocery store. I would not hesitate to stay here again, the only thing I did not like were the speed bumps which were extremely large and no matter how slow you go things in the RV are going to be knocked around. We stayed for 3 days and it was great. We were parked in the Redwoods with plenty of room for our Motorhome and truck. There is a small grocery store on the corner where you turn for the park (about 1/2 mile). Easy access to Avenue of The Giants. The staff was nice and very helpful. They even have a small store on site Down side: The site was right next to the playground and dog park. Not bad if you don't mind kids and dogs making noise. The showers don't have much water pressure. But... Read More

Down side: The site was right next to the playground and dog park. Not bad if you don't mind kids and dogs making noise. The showers don't have much water pressure. But plenty of hot water. Most of the sites don't have sewer hookups, but they have a honey wagon and a dump station (if you can make the turn).

Nice campground. Redwood trees on site and right next to river. Very clean restrooms. Friendly and helpful staff.
We were first given the wrong site but once that was cleared up we had a lovely spot. We were not given the codes to the restrooms so cannot rate them, I'm sure we could have called and gotten the codes. The place was busy and comfortable. There is a lovely stroll to the river where you can take a chilly dip in the clear water. So pristine, you can see fish swimming about. Some nice redwoods are scattered about the park. I would stay here again.
This park is very beautiful and peaceful. You will be amid the trees and right along the Eel River. There is an easy path to walk down toward the river area, and it seems pretty shallow to allow for safe swimming. There is tent camping, small trailer and large RV areas. There are only about 8 spaces that have full hook up with 50 amps. But there are several other 30 amp spaces. Some of the spaces are quite narrow, you will not have a patio on your side, but they have some length, so you can set... Read More

The staff were all very friendly and professional.
If you're bringing in a big rv, some of the roads are narrow, but still manageable if you're comfortable maneuvering in tighter areas. We were in with a 35 foot 5th wheel and did make it through the paths just fine, though it was tight in some turns. There isn't much to Myers Flat, so come stocked already. The nearest full grocery store that we found was in Fortuna, which was about 30 miles away. There is a small market in Miranda, which is about 5-10 miles away.
We enjoyed ourselves very much. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 were the narrow paths and narrow campsites in the full hook up area. Also, the wifi/internet access is extremely limited. They do give you one wifi code per day that allows for about 250mb maximum. (which is enough to check your email occasionally). We have verizon, so we don't normally use park wifi, but even our verizon connections were hit or miss. We were on 1x or 3G for most of the time. We were here for some peaceful down time, so we did not mind that at all.
Facilities: We did not use the facilities, as we use those in our own rv. But we did walk through all facilities. There is a very small laundry facility. It seemed to be in use most of the time, and a neighbor mentioned that the washing machine takes a very long time (up to 2 hours). The bathrooms were clean and tidy, but a bit small. There was one shower for men and one for women on each side of the park. There were outhouses all around the park also, I assume to make up for the small restrooms.
We really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a very peaceful and quiet get away, this is a good place. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed it very much. There are nice hiking areas nearby, and a great place to relax and read some books. It was just the peaceful down time we were looking for.

Upon arriving, it wasn't clear where the entrance to the park was, and as a result, I turned left when I should have turned right, and once done, it was too late to turn back, around, back up... I had to go all the way around, and on the worst possible dusty, dirty road if you hate bottoming out. One has to go very very slow to minimize contact, something difficult to avoid with a 35' Class A and a tow dolly attached. I suggested to the camp office that they put a big red arrow on the fence or gate... Read More

A nice park, lots of shade trees - bad for satellite reception, but they provide. cable with 24 channels, many of which were fuzzy, grainy, making viewing less appealing. I was very disappointed in the wifi, and had to go back to the office to inquire. That's when I learned you're only permitted 250 Mb, once each day, and that you had to enter a code provided by vouchers, one for each day. But you only get to use it once, not the entire day, as its "meant to provide for people who want to check email". It's good for little else, and I opted not to pay extra for more bandwidth. For all intents and purposes, access to internet comes at significant additional cost, but once I logged in to check email, I'd used up my "voucher" for the day, and access outside the park was spotty at best.

We parked here to visit the Humbolt Redwoods State Park. This RV park is located right on Avenue of the Giants, a scenic roadway that runs through the park. We had a pull-through site with water, sewer, cable and 50amp electric. We used the cable since trees blocked our satellite reception. Park driveways and site pads are gravel. The bathrooms are clean and in good condition. There is WiFi that generally worked well. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we were there we experienced... Read More

When we were there we experienced very rainy weather and the RV park has areas that retain quite a bit of water. Also, the street used to access the park is seriously potholed with standing water. We paid $45.90 per night with Good Sam discount.

We were definitely expecting more for a 4/5 rated campground. We camped in late November with our 9 year old daughter which is obviously their off-season. Booking the site was painless and easy but we expected much more for the cost. We were told upon booking that they had no sewer hook up available although we saw many empty sites with sewer hookups (maybe they shut them off) but there was no one available to assist at the office when I went to inquire. The individual site was fairly well maintained, a raised platform with gravel however all the surrounding area was bogged. They definitely need to think about drainage with the yearly average rainfall.
Upon entering the washroom and shower block I was met with a sign that stated they were very proud of their washroom facility and ask for help in maintaining it. There were two toilets, one was blocked and over flowing. The floor was concrete and their was no heat whatsoever in there. I did decide to shower in the one available stall. Lighting was terribly dim and went off altogether when the timer on the wall ran out and I was left cold, naked and in the pitch black. I understand the need for timers to conserve but the whole experience was not pleasurable.
For those of you travelling with pets, although the site states its pet friendly, the dog run is extremely small and is only really suitable for dogs 25lbs and under.
The other point to note is that this place is situated at the end of a road surrounded by local residences. The smell of pot was overwhelming and the area was far from appealing.
For an unsupervised site, I was not impressed and would not recommend.

Visited in October when the facility was less than half full. So, it was quiet and we had room. Women's restroom was clean but my husband said the men's room was a mess. Couldn't take the dog for a swim in the river due to toxic algae. Worst part of facility: very limited wifi policy. First 100mb is free, than you have to pay $5 for each additional 1G. All other RV parks which we visited on our 2 week trip, which said they had wifi, provided unlimited wifi for free.
The park could use some improvements in the roads and the campsites. The location was fantastic for seeing the redwoods and spending some time outdoors. Camp hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
The best part of this campground is the proximity to the river and the redwoods. We had a pull-thru site and there was no privacy from the people right next to us. The bathrooms were clean and the dump station was also clean. We would stay here again if able to get a more private site.
The owners are in the process of doing upgrades. There are new bathrooms, showers and laundry. Some of the sites have been updated already. The full service sites are very close together and not very private. The other sites where we stayed are more spacious, several are pull thru but don' have sewer hookups. They do have a free dump station for campers. They also have cable and wifi. The park is easy on and off the fwy. The dog loved going to the river every day. The weather in July was hot the... The weather in July was hot the first few days then turned to drizzle the last few days. This park is off the Giant Redwood highway and the drive is not to be missed. We will go back again.

The bathrooms were new and clean. There were two washers and dryers for laundry. We were unable to swim in the river due to toxic blue /green algae, which was a disappointment. The side of the park that has just water and electricity was actually much nicer. They do have a dump station. It is a small park, but very clean and it was evident that they were doing a lot of upgrades. Playground for the kids, small metal firepits, horseshoes, volleyball, picnic bench at each RV site. We rented a car in Ukiah to use while we were there. There's a moderate sized grocery store in Garberville about 10 minutes away. We stayed for 6 days with our 3 children and 2 dogs. Lots of sites to see nearby.
