We stayed here when the massive heat wave was beginning. The presence of trees was very much appreciated. Just looking at them made me feel cooler. Wifi was great. There is cable, and it was about average. The pool was absolutely wonderful and I was able to swim by myself every morning. My only small gripe was if the pool is supposed to be open by 10, then all the pool cleaning should be completed by that time. There was also an air-conditioned rec room where I could set up my sewing machine... Read More

There was also an air-conditioned rec room where I could set up my sewing machine and quilt. It's equipped with couches, a big TV and a small kitchen. The office staff was friendly and obliging. (Did not use the restrooms.)
The sites are fairly close together and can be a little short for some big rigs. The traffic noise from I-5 can get loud as well.
All in all, we'd recommend this place. We stayed for two weeks.

Good Sam needs to re-review this park. Have stayed at this park extended in 2021 in an RV, was then a clean and well kept park. This stay was in a cabin and will not again. The overall park was full of leaf debris, fall was well over a few months ago and obvious that it was not cleaned since then. The cabin appeared clean, but when items such as the dish soap was picked up off the sink there was grime under the bottle. There was bugs in the tub, and one fell on me from the vent above the toilet.... Read More

The cabin appeared clean, but when items such as the dish soap was picked up off the sink there was grime under the bottle. There was bugs in the tub, and one fell on me from the vent above the toilet. The toilet loudly ran forever after being flushed and then would not flush if used while running. Husband needed the toilet and had to run to the bathhouse, he got there and the code given for the rest rooms did not work. Called the office shortly after arrival and they did not get back to me until the next day. We left for the day and upon return the toilet still was not fixed when they had said they would fix it. The window shades were in disrepair and could not be closed completely, there was no drapes to close for privacy, except the front slider door. We paid $120+ a night, should have gone to a motel. TV had 3 air digital channels, their cable did not work, as well as the internet. We were really disappointed, we really liked this park previously, it is obvious the management has changed and not for the good.

This park is nice but a little on the messy side. The people were very nice.
Easy check-in and Bridget in the office was very kind. We stayed in full hookup pull-through concrete pad site #66. Leveling on concrete pads is usually an absolute breeze but this one was tilted to the side. Perhaps they did this to prevent water from pooling? Very bad design. We appreciated the 20/30/50 amp plugs on the electrical post as it allowed us to run 2 A/C units simultaneously in 100+ degree heat. Major plus! There was decent tree shade as well. Free wifi was provided for 2 devices and it was blazing fast at our site. The 24 cable channels were also wonderful. The park is located close to I-5 but we didn't notice any road noise at night. Laundry is reasonably priced at $1.75 to wash and $1.50 to dry. Dryers are in bad shape and should be replaced. Washers were ok. Clean bathrooms and showers. A small pool is located near the office but we didn't try it. Propane is available near the office.

Our site was littered with garbage upon arrival. Office staff was friendly but other guests (who appeared to be more long term) were unfriendly. One guest had her 2 dogs unleashed at her campsite and they charged myself, dogs, and 2 year old as we walked in the street. No apology offered. Another camper told me I couldn't walk my dogs in a grassy area because it wasn't the dog walk area. The whole place is gravel (including the "dog park") and not very accommodating for pets. It's absurd to say that you cannot walk your dogs on grass that is not marked off limits and to be limited to "pet walk areas". The campground is right next to the highway and the traffic is loud. There were people acting questionable and loud. I told my husband I didn't feel safe walking the dogs alone at night. I've stayed at 10 campgrounds in the last 6 weeks and this campground ranks near the bottom.

This park was a great place to stay. Office personnel were all very pleasant and helpful. Upon arrival my truck would not start and they assisted me in getting it started and my trailer to the campsite and set up quickly so that I could get to the dealership for repairs. The park was quiet, restrooms were clean, and there was plenty space between spaces. Plan to definitely stay there again when in the area.
We stayed one night at this park and enjoyed the quiet rest in preparation to continue our journey the next day. This was a very nice park and well maintained with shade trees, grass.
The park close to I5 was a great find. We stayed one night while traveling through. When we called and checked availability the staff was very helpful and held us a pull through so we didn't have to disconnect our car. On arrival the staff wss very friendly and helpful. The sites are nice sized with great shade, an important feature on a 100 degree day. We had a great experince and look forward to future stays
Great staff and easy in and out. Nice dog run however a bit more grass would be nice.
Very nice and clean park with wonderful customer service. The sites are very private and roomy. Hook ups are functioning and nice. Site was level. The guy who manages the place was great, very helpful. They have a nice, big fenced in pet run where your dog can go off leash. It was gravel, but still nice that they have one. Biggest issue was again, the internet did not work well at all. If all you need to do is check email you might be okay. Other than that, it's a great little park!
We have been here before and this is a return stay. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is plenty of room for slide-outs. Hookups are easy to use.Shasta lake is close by and full of water because of all the rain. Don't check out a tour of the Shasta Dam. it's FREE to the first 40 people. Happy RVing
Second time we have stayed here. This time for 12 days. Just keeps getting better. Dog run, great WIFI, close to Shasta. Owner and staff work hard to keep the park perfect. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
Reasonable prices, clean and neat, landscaped sites with mature trees, grass and concrete pads, friendly staff/owners, reasonably priced propane, easy access, all hookups placed conveniently in center of length, free Wi-Fi, BBQ pit with hotdog forks, pie irons, and chairs for gatherings convenience store and gift shop, and the best 50A service we've seen in a while (no dimming or motor slowing when the microwave or A/C kicks in). We'll be back!
This is a very nice park with only one issue, which is why I gave it a 4 overall rating. It is right off a very busy I5 freeway and quite loud. If you don't mind the noise, it is a great place to stay. If noise bothers you. go elsewhere.
Great sites. Paved and grass made our stay very pleasant. Room between sites as well.
This was the forth time I've stayed at Mt. Gate. Every time I found it a pleasure to stay in their park. Clean, Quiet, Pleasant surroundings, Staff eager and ready to assist you. I will definitely be back!
Very Friendly and helpful. Deer even wondered into the area which made for a pleasent evening.
This park is located right off of I-5 just north of Redding, CA. It's nestled in trees, the road is paved and sites are concrete. Some of the sites have a "steepish" hill to either back into to pull out. The site had 30, 50 amp and was pull through and basically level with cable and wifi. Some have large rocks around the utility hookups. Some sites have concrete picnic tables but all sites appear to have tables. There is a small store with a few supplies and ice. They sell propane. The bathrooms are good size and clean. It has a laundry room with 4 washers and 5 dryers and inexpensive to use. It has a fair amount of room and folding table. There is a pool and a club room. The club has tables and chairs, a large wrap around couch and TV with movies to watch. In the mornings they have a continental breakfast in the club. It's a clean park and well maintained. The park is about a 15 min drive from good shopping and restaurants like Costco, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, movie theater, Trader Joe's, Olive Garden, Famous Dave's just to mention a few and a mall with Macy's, Penney's, Sears.
