I have been camping at Lake Texana my whole life & I'm 40 yrs old on both the Texana and Brackenridge sides. The Texana side used to be a state park. The campsites are large on the Texana side and we prefer to camp here. Wherever you stay you have access to both sides. There are miles of hiking/biking trails, swimming I the lake, fishing, putt putt golf, paintball, basketball, volleyball, kayaking, and other activities. The Halloween weekend is alot of fun, there is a best decorated campsite contests which we won in 2018. The fishing can be good in the lake. You will see lots of wildlife including deer, raccoons, possum, armadillo, alligators, squirrels, and many bird species. There are sites with full and partial hookups. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and open grill. The restrooms are nice and clean with showers, we don't use them much anymore now we have a large travel trailer, but they are very convenient. The online reservation tool on the website allows you to check availability and pick the site you want. We camp here several times a year because it is a nice place and close to home.

We stayed Friday-Sunday and had a great time. It was my wife, 8 year old, 6 year old, and I in our Pop-Up. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. Each site had a fire ring, grill, and picnic table. We stayed in one of the wagon-wheels on the north end of the Brackenridge side and enjoyed the views of the lake, proximity to the bathrooms, and space for the kids to ride their bikes. We rode our bikes all over the park and enjoyed putt-putt ($2.50 putter rental if you didn't have your own),... Read More

We visited the Texana side and it looks very nice as well. We'll be back for sure.
