Almost didn’t stay here because of one of the reviews. This is beautiful spot, shady, green, babbling brook. FHU, about 8 miles from the interstate, great one night layover. Right next to Black Rock State Park. Decent WiFi, basic cable, friendly hosts. Pool, tables, fire pits, great garden! Very quiet, pretty!
We made a reservation for a 2 night stay at Branch Brook Campground, and because they don't seem to have a computerized reservation system we did not receive a confirmation. A week before our arrival I called and emailed the campground to confirm our reservation was still good, but received no replies to either. Since that time I have called daily and no calls have been returned. This is the summer of Covid and I do know the State of CT has been careful with reservations from out of state residents,... If their campground has closed, I would have hoped for some communication to this affect. We have had to make a reservation at another campground as a result. The new campground contacted us with a confirmation the day after we reached out to them, they will get our business in the future.

The worst campground ever. Too many construction workers. Every morning I was woken up at 4am from their diesel trucks. Their sites are filthy. Continually drive through out the campground all night visiting other workers. It's a shame this happened to a once nice campground. Now it's nothing more then a glorified storage facility.
We have stayed at multiple campgrounds thru the years and by far this has been the best yet! We will definitely come back and visit this one again! All the campground workers were more then generous, understanding and helpful no matter the situation. Overall the park is extremely clean. The staff keeps the grounds regularly mowed and weed eated along with a litter free environment. The park has gravel roads that are not full of pot holes which is a big thing when pulling thru big rvs n campers.... Read More

The park includes clean, maintained laundry and bathroom facilities, a spacious pool area with plenty of lounge areas and pavilion area for friends and family to congregate and socialize in. There is a game room available for playing pool and video games. They have a creek running along side of the campgrounds for fishing fun. My favorite thing is the campground's community garden. Each site is very roomy and has it's on bonfire pit for relaxing evenings to share time with your family, friends and fellow camping neighbors. The park is animal friendly as well which is a big plus! We would definitely recommend this campground for families and friends to visit when stopping thru Thomaston!
