This was our second visit to this Thousand Trails park. Easy check-in and we were allowed to choose our own site. Sadly many were unavailable due to electrical issues. We ended up in site B1 and it was level with lots of tree shade. Beautiful lake and excellent walking/running trail. My AT&T cell phone had 2 bars and the hotspot worked ok. There was no wifi available anywhere in the park. Clean bathrooms and showers. I would like to recognize the excellent staff at this park. Our original... Read More

Our original reservation was for 2 weeks and we had to take our RV into the shop for service. The staff allowed us to leave for a week while also keeping our original site. Wow! Then the general manager extended us for 2 extra days on short notice due to flash flood warnings at our next stop in North Carolina. Thank you Joyce! We were also approached on 2 separate occasions by staff members inside the park and given the new gate code (it changes every 2 weeks.) Thank you so much Lynchburg team for the excellent customer service! TIP: There is an RV friendly gas station about 1 mile from the park called Lester's Market/LFM fuel. Our 28 foot class A motorhome with tow car had no issues getting in and out successfully.

Deep ruts in roads makes it hard to drive around in a vehicle, let alone pulling a camper through it to find a site. Backed into site A-25 and leveled up camper, which was fine. Husband went to plug in electrical cord and was shocked and it was making zapping noises. Backed into site A-26 tried to hook up electric before doing anything else and the hole where the ground prong went in was broken at top and outlet sparked when we plugged in cord. Water pressure was a trickle at best. Camper in the... Read More

Backed into site A-26 tried to hook up electric before doing anything else and the hole where the ground prong went in was broken at top and outlet sparked when we plugged in cord. Water pressure was a trickle at best. Camper in the next spot over came over to see what was going on and said it wasn't his first choice of a camp ground either for the weekend but he had family that lived close by. We drove around the loops trying to find another spot to back in and they were either very slopped or had ruts so deep to get into them the hitch would have been digging in gravel & dead tree branch hanging down so you wouldn't want to back in there either. We decided to leave and went back to gate. After explaining everything to the person at the gate They said we could either try a different loop (Which we had already done) or she could give us the managers personal phone number to call and complain because she used to having people calling and complaining. The number she gave me was the "Emergency" cell phone number I had been trying to call when we were having all the problems. No one answered any of the times I called. I decided to text the number and finally got a response that I would get a full refund. Very dangerous place to camp, would NOT recommend to anyone. Very run down, needs to be completely updated.
