We live in Albuquerque, but wanted to spend a day hiking the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge. Kiva RV Park is just a 5 minute drive from the NWR, so we stayed there on a Friday night, so we could get up bright and early for our hiking the next day. The folks running the place were very friendly. Led us to our spot and made sure everything was okay for us. It's a fairly humble place...gravel roads and parking spots. No concrete to be seen. The folks running the place were very friendly. Led us to our spot and made sure everything was okay for us. It's a fairly humble place...gravel roads and parking spots. No concrete to be seen. Each slot has a fairly wide planted area, but this is not patches of green lawn. They have mature native trees and shrubs that are well maintained. Plenty of big cottonwood trees provided shade. The place is clearly run on a low budget, but is well maintained and there is pride in the work here. When we visited, it appeared to be nearly full, and it felt like perhaps 50/50 mix between long-term residents and overnight (or nearly overnight) visitors. There is a large corral area for horses. We walked over to it but there were no horses there. There's a little dog park, a bathhouse and laundry. We didn't use any of those amenities, so I can't comment. I believe the laundry is listed as free. (This is not the case with the wifi, which was complex and had a fee.) I just used my hotspot from my Verizon service and because we had 4 bars, that worked just fine for streaming some Netflix that night.
We really like the place. Lots of neighbors, but everyone was very friendly, and no late partying. A few kids. But really, it was all very pastoral and nice. We'd stay here again.
Not all was perfect. Aside from the less-than-friendly wifi:
1) The sewer hookup is just an open pipe. No threads. A little stinky when you take the cover off.
2) It is almost literally right next to the interstate. There's no denying those traffic noise is real. We slept with no issues, but if traffic noise doesn't act like white noise for you...you might want to look somewhere else. We're lucky but I know this is a deal-breaker for some.
They do offer a Good Sam discount of 10%, so with tax, we paid $34. Well worth it. Very nice stay.

Very nice people and clean. All sites are pull through :) Wish I had more time, the location was in the middle of too much to do.
This place is great. The bathrooms are clean and climate controlled. The laundry facility has 4 washers & dryers, all well maintained, and ironing board and iron. They also have a lit dog run. Highly recommend.
Overall it was a nice and clean park. Two things would have made me offer a higher review. 1) a nightlight in the dog run and various areas throughout the park. The dog park was a large area and it, as well as the entire park, were super dark. Which brings me to my other issue. 2) The welcome sign while indicating it is a Good Sam venue, has not only one but 2 signs that I feel we're totally unnecessarily and for lack of better words-tacky. One said "Not a gun free area" (if you don't have a gun,... Read More

Didn't make me feel a bit safe while walking my dogs using a flashlight.
While I believe everyone has the right to bear arms, using that type of verbage at the entrance did not make me feel particularly welcomed or safe. Especially since the park is so dark. I actually cannot believe Good Sam would feel those signs represent their organization in a positive manner. Nor do I feel they describe an area that is child friendly.

This is a great little campground that is a great stop off halfway between El Paso, TX and Santa Fe, NM. The park is easily accessible from I-25. It is well maintained and level. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were running late and they even called to check on us and waited until we got there. This park is located in the desert so do not expect a lot of shade. We will definitely stay there again when our travels take us that direction.
We stopped here for an overnight after a long day of driving. We found the staff very friendly. The park is clean and well maintained. The campsite was shaded. We would definitely stay here again. As the website says, there isn't a store here so bring your own ice. :)
Very nice reasonably-priced RV park. Horse, dog and gun friendly. Very flat and mostly gravel with lots of trees full of chirping birds and fragrant bushes. Loved the bird sounds and the shade. Office/rec. center is full of interesting wild west pictures, artifacts and craft items. It's not a store but a good place to relax, chat, play cards, etc. Rest rooms and showers are older but very clean and secure. We didn't use the laundry, but it appears clean. This RV park was extremely noisy. It is right next to I25. The trains were loud too, but not as loud as the interstate traffic. If that wasn't bad enough the gun shots first thing in the morning topped it off. Also, saying that you have Wifi, but it is only available in the Office DOES NOT COUNT! They tried to blame it on our new, fully functioning equipment.
All facilities were clean. Restrooms were older. No store - that would have been nice. No cable. Wi-fi available, but very slow. Grounds and layout were nice. Easy pull through. Staff Incredibly nice. No reservation - just pre-called and arrived.
My wife and I stopped at Kiva RV Park and Horse Motel for a couple of nights. The park is well maintained and plenty of parking space for our 27' RV. The pads are level with pull through. The family operating the park are real friendly and willing to help if needed. The price is very reasonable using the Good Sams discount. They do not accept credit, only cash or personal checks. The WiFi is okay and television a little hit and miss, but overall a great place to stay. We would differently stay here again if we get back in the neighborhood. Only a longer stay next time.

This campground accepts Passport America. You must pay by cash or check. The people here are very nice. We were greeted by two sweet, lovey dogs when we went into the office. Our site was large and level, and we had shade trees to keep us cool. If you want to watch tv though, you have to have a dish. They don't have cable and we couldn't pick up any channels over the air, but we don't watch that much tv anyway. We were only passing through, so we just stayed overnight. I don't know how much...
