UPDATE: This is our 98th stop and stayed for 5 months. Arriving on the 1st of the month, the office was very busy but took the time to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. And yes, you do pay for the site fully upon arrival – not unusual for rv parks. We were nicely offered a escort to the site from the camp host but was not needed. We received an email a few weeks before arrival providing us information, particularly on electric and internet hook ups and was easy to set up. When... Read More

We received an email a few weeks before arrival providing us information, particularly on electric and internet hook ups and was easy to set up. When hooking up the water, had a leak at the faucet and there was a team there before my wife returned from the office. And at one point we were away from our site for a few days with our rv and when we returned, the spring weeds were cut down and the site re-leveled! Positives: (1) The residents are the ones that make this place what it is. They are so friendly and welcoming. (2) The activities coordinator has so many activities scheduled. (3) Great access to stores, restaurants, I-10/I-8, etc. within a few miles. (4) The dumpsters are emptied almost daily so trash is not piled up everywhere. Not so positives: (1) The laundry room in the back always had machines down or taking money and not working. (2) It is not the newest resort on the block and the road infrastructure is showing it the most as it is breaking up and has holes – a safety issue for older walkers. And when it rains, even a small amount, you may have lakefront property. (3) Although not an issue for us as we are used to it, there is a fair amount of road and train noise. (4) For bathroom facilities, there are only 2 toilets in the back building and a half dozen showers in the front. Rating would be a 4.2. Would I come back here again? Probably so.

Fiesta Grande is the 94th stop for us, we stayed 10 nights and used it as a regrouping spot for the final month of travel. An “age eligible” over 55 years of age community as part of Thousand Trails (we are not members), the majority of the sites are park models and we were in a section referred to as “overnighters” who stay less than a month, don’t pay for electricity. The sites are smaller but spacious, level and have a concrete pad. There is a dog park with grass (real grass) where a group met... Read More

The sites are smaller but spacious, level and have a concrete pad. There is a dog park with grass (real grass) where a group met just before sunset – our pup loved that. We are at the younger end of the age group but the residents warmly welcomed us and provided us information on the property, town and activities. If you have done your homework ahead of time, you should know there is no WiFi (only hotspots near buildings) or cable tv provided but there are a host of over the air channels. While here short term, we used our personal hotspots for internet and streaming. If here longer, you can set that up with a local provider. Had an issue with two laundry machines not working (took money but never started). Within 48 hours, the company that services the machines refunded the money and indicated they had fixed the machines. In terms of connectivity (early morning): WiFi (none) T-Mobile 20.0 up/0.7 down Verizon 40.2 down/3.38 up. Looking forward to our return.
