We stayed in site 81. "Choice Concrete Pull Through". The campground is small and the atmosphere is quiet. It is in the mountains and I don't recommend driving from Townsend because there is a hairpin turn along that route. RV Trip wizard says it is a safe route for RVs, but I would recommend you take the extra time to drive through Pigeon Forge and drive up the mountain from, I think the road is called Parkway. The sites are very close together. Our neighbors canopy was right next to the power box and the water hook-up. The cable was good and the WiFi was the usual campground WiFi that was too slow during heavy traffic so we used our hot spot. My biggest complaint is that their marketing materials do not match what the actual campground is like. The marketing team did an excellent job describing this campground as a "Luxury Resort". DO NOT BE FOOLED, as we were. This place is by no means a luxury resort. When I think of a luxury resort, I think of Carolina Pines (now Sun Outdoors), or Camp Margaritaville. Those actual resorts offer enough amenities where you don't have to leave the resort for anything. They have food and general stores with almost everything you would need. They offer entertainment, arcades, duck bowling, pool tables, ping pong, restaurants, bars, water slides, and lazy rivers. Cove Creek does not have a restaurant on site. They do not have any water slides or a bar. The do have a pool and an area for corn hole, but that's pretty much it. I think this is a fine park or campground for what it is and I'm sure there is a market for people who would like this camp ground. I think they should stick with describing it as a mountainous quiet place to getaway from the city and enjoy some time outdoors camping. It is not a resort and it is not luxurious. While it is not one of the best campgrounds that we have been too, it also is not the worse. Of course, some sites are better than others. Some had more space between them, but ours was tight. Our picnic table was positioned almost right on top of the neighbors sewer hook up. We did not use it. Looks like you can move it a little, though. Also, they say you can have 2 cars per site. Our truck that we tow our travel trailer with did not have enough room to park at the site. Unfortunately, we had to park at an angle and a little bit on the grass. We made the best of our stay and enjoyed Pigeon Forge. We have placed this campground on our "Do Not Return" list because we like stay in larger, more modern resort type campgrounds. If you prefer the smaller, more "rustic" type, this will be fine for you.

Never have I been anywhere as poorly managed as this place. The maintenance guy was so rude and literally shook his finger in my face over putting the trash out at the wrong time. Very threatening and unprofessional. When I went to the front desk they were unwilling to hear me and shoved the "rules" in my face which say that if I have trash to set it out at 9-11 but we weren't going to be here during that time so I placed it out so they would still be able to get it. I'm not here on their time I'm... Read More

I'm not here on their time I'm here on mine. It's my vacation so when I put the trash out is my business and if they don't like it then they should let us take the trash to there dumpster ourselves. They try to control EVERYTHING. I have been to every campground in the Smokey's and this is by far the most poorly ran place I have ever been. Clayboughs and rivers edge are 10000x the campgrounds closer to town. Absolutely do not stay here if your looking for southern hospitality....or any hospitality for that matter. They will be great til they get your money then it's all down hill. Amenities are so little and not worth what you pay for this dump. I will never be back and will tell everyone I know to stay away.

This place has to be the biggest joke I have ever seen. We arrived 7 days ago and booked for a month and have already been harassed by the maintenance man multiple times over various situations. They do not allow you to take your garbage to dumpster so they tell us to put it at the street and they will pick it up. Then once we do we get a phone call with him yelling at us because we put it out at 8 am and didn't wait until 9-11 when they pick up trash. We were going to be gone for the entire day... Read More

We were going to be gone for the entire day and thought we would put it out early so that it would for sure get picked up. Then when we did put out another bag of trash at the times he requested we caught him going through our trucks and walking through our campsite touching stuff. We always pick up after our dogs but we let them out at 4 am and it was snowing so we let them go in our little yard and planned on picking it up when we woke up in the morning . I woke up to a phone call with the guy yelling at me to pick it up. He would have had to walk behind our camper against the junk yard fence line (seriously a junk yard) to even see any of it. Then I Go to do laundry in their ridiculously priced laundry area and the washer that I put my clothes in floods the room so I call the guy and he come and yells at us because it flooded. Even though he had admitted to us that the company that they rent the machines from was just out for the same problem a few days prior. The bathrooms although clean are left with doors propped open which a privacy concern. I have never felt so unwelcome in a place in my entire life. Not only are they NOT dog friendly they are not people friendly either and that is just unacceptable. There was trash all over our site when we arrived we are backed up to a junk yard and there is the rudest staff I have ever met working here. Never again will I be back and we will be leaving early .

The Takeaway: nestled within bucolic Weirs Valley, with a river running thru it, and close to the triumvirate: Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. The well maintained buildings and bath/shower facilities with landscaped grounds define Cove Creek. The sparkling pool offers a relaxing swim (pool lacks adequate number of chairs and lounges). WiFi is fair with some buffering, however OTA (over the air antenna) reception is poor due to the surrounding mountains. A perfect place from which to explore... Read More
