Rustic camping done right. This isn't a plush resort so it shouldn't be rated vs one. If you have a 30ft or shorter trailer, pop up, tent or rent a cabin it is hard to beat the bang for your buck of this slice of campground tucked up against a creek along old 74. The facilities are similar or nicer than state parks, there is a throw back arcade game room, coin laundry, and friendly staff in the office. The sites aren't perfectly level or paved. They may be able to handle larger RVs but it would... Read More

They may be able to handle larger RVs but it would be challenging. The plus is you can backed up to creek or the mountains with a reasonably priced spot and convenient access to Henderson, Bat Cave, Asheville and more. If you are pulling a trailer don't take 9 down from 40. 74 is an adventure, 9 is not comfortable at all. If you are coming up from the south, it is pretty easy going other than navigating Chimney Rocks tight main drag.
