Nice clean park on a field. Very close to some great national historic sites. the owner is wonderful and you can tell they work hard at maintaining a good rv park. The sites are dirt with some green ground cover and gravel driveways. Very limited shade. Would rate higher if it weren't for the extremely loud coal trains that go by every 30 minutes, all day and throughout the night. They honk their horns 4 times each time they go by right in front of the rv park. Every site can hear them. Very... Read More

Not sure if this is the norm, but we battled a lot of flies that would get in the trailer when we opened the door. Over 20 at one point. Thankfully we brought a bug zapper.

Warning! Pony Soldier RV Park uses a third-party reservation service (Rover Pass) that charges a high non-refundable fee and does not accept the Good Sam discount. The park does not accept credit cards, which is why they use the third-party service. They only honor the GS discount with cash or check at check-in. The service charged my card before I found out that they don't honor the Good Sam discount. I will be disputing the credit card charge.
Before I begin, I must say the ONLY even slightly negative thing we can say about this place is it is right across the street from the railroad tracks and the trains do sound their warning horns all day and even some into the night. HOWEVER, if you're like my husband and I, you love trains and the nostalgia associated w/them SO, even the horns at night were not enough to deter us from leaving a resounding 5-star review. The owners are a wonderful people. One evening while out for a "stroll"... Read More

The owners are a wonderful people. One evening while out for a "stroll" we were invited to stop and chat w/them and their visiting just-7 :-) year old granddaughter who shared some tomatoes and a carrot she picked :-). You can't get much more precious than that.
The grounds are very well-maintained, quiet, and pleasant. A place a family would enjoy stopping w/a home-style feeling.
And, surprisingly the wifi availability is AMAZING! A far cry from most other RV parks we have stayed.
We can't say enough good about our stay and wish we weren't leaving so soon.
