Mount Pocono Campground Mount Pocono, PA We stayed here May 13-15. Booked the campsite back in March. Needed a site close to Kalahari Resort where our girls were competing in an Irish Dance feis at the convention center. This campground was the only one to respond to our request for a site. What we liked - 1. The convenience to Kalahari. It is only 3 or so miles away. 2. The campground staff. It appeared to be a family run business. The young kids working in the camp store and around the grounds were incredibly friendly and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. 3. The campsite was great. We stayed in the Hemlock Hollow section (site 32). Our friends stayed in site 33. The sites in this section were terraced. It was a really cool design. It made it feel like you had extra space between you and your neighbor. It also kept your sewer hose hidden from your neighbor (bonus). The sites were absolutely flat. The area to park and the fire pit were crushed stone. Each site also had a lush grassy patch and tree. 4. The quiet hours! Quiet time started at 10pm. Both nights it was absolutely silent by 10:30. That is unheard of at campground. I was so appreciative of it. It just made the stay peaceful. 5. The dog run was huge and crushed gravel. Amazing. 6. There was a rec room with pool tables, ping-pong tables, and arcade games. There was also a section for adults that had a library and fitness center. Other activities took place here too - there was day-time cake decorating (we did not participate) and evening BINGO (we and the kids had so much fun). 7. The pool and hot tub were decent sized. It was not open yet - opens Memorial Day weekend. 8. There was a great volleyball put, cornhole and playground too. What we didn't like - Nothing - honestly, nothing. Things of note - 1. You drive through a neighborhood to get to the campground. 2. The vast majority of sites seem to be seasonal. For the most part it seemed like season sites were not mixed with non-seasonal. 3. The terraced design is because the campground is on a mountain. This design works because of the crushed stone and because the campground staff rakes each campsite after the camper leaves.

For the money, this was one of the more Beautiful well kept campgrounds we have stayed in. We arrived a day early and the staff was most accommodating and were able to get us on a site that worked for our large rig. The sites are large and level and are gravel with a small patch of grass where the picnic table is located. Sites are beautifully landscaped and provide some privacy. We only stayed 2 nights so we did not use the facilities, but there is a large pool, a nice playground for children,... Read More

There is a beautiful nature trail right on the campground that we did hike and was well worth the effort. I will definitely stay here again when passing through the area.
