Perhaps the Resort should place a camera in the hot tub area so the staff can monitor the facilities instead of leaving the responsibility with the guest. I will say Jamicia Beach RV Resort is very much a wonderful, friendly, minimally ruled (freedom to enjoy) facility for the whole family. We will definitely return again as this was our second time here.

Customer service was absolutely HORRIBLE!! One lady stuck up her figure for me to wait as the phone rang, therefore I had to wait 15 mins for her conversation to finish. We had to go to the office multiple times for something that should already have been set up.
We will absolutely not go back there.

We stayed a week at this park during December of 2020. Due to Covid, many of the amenities were not used. "Stars Above" as my mother used to say, this is a great RV resort. Easy beach access to a clean public beach, a neat putt-putt course at the resort, a great lazy river, and a staff as friendly and helpful as we Texans expect. Galveston has interesting things downtown to visit (junky shops, pubs, eateries), but just 16 miles from downtown's crowds is Jamaica Beach: Great vacation combo!
Great park lots of activities with nice mix for kids and retirees. I stayed during spring break and it was busy but never felt over crowded or loud. The staff are wonderful
Our first visit to the Galveston area. We really enjoyed everything about our stay from the lazy river to the easy access to the beach. one of the owners was working the lazy river and was a real pleasure to talk to, she seemed to really want to make sure everyone was having a good time. The facilities were well kept and there is certainly plenty to do. It was a little tight getting in and out with a 42 foot MH, but we made it without running over anything lol . We will definitely be back.
Quiet, walking distance from Gulf of Mexico, beautiful Caribbean setting on mini golf and at the SPA house. We loved the stay of 3 nights here.
Very nice Park. Well maintained and friendly staff. The one BIG DRAWBACK are the sites. I have ran across this at several other parks too. But, the Utilities are to the FAR Rear of the Spaces, NOT in the middle, like they should be. So, they lose one star for poor design. You basically need extensions for your sewer and water lines. Whereas normal, properly designed parks have their utility hookups close to the middle of the RV. So, make sure if you are staying at this Park to have extensions... Read More

And one final thought, the Park is 13 miles from Galveston, making it a long drive each way to get to the Restaurants and Galveston Activities.
But, it is a Nice Park.

As new RVers, Jamaica Beach was our first stop on our RV journey. We are afraid this park has spoiled us, it was perfect! The staff was very hospitable, the park was very clean and there was so much to do on grounds. We definitely recommend this park whether you are retired like us or if you have kids.
Average at best not the perfect score Good Sam gives this park. We arrived mid January not peak season I admit but with a few days of rain the camp sites where like little islands surrounded by water. The grass area's are much lower then the concrete pads thus filling with water 3-4" deep and taking a week to dry out. The pools and hot tub are not maintained for winter use at all. I believe this park caters to the summer younger crowd and not the older winter campers.

We booked this RV park after reading multiple reviews on a Facebook site about how great it is only to be disappointed. When I got to the front of the line about 45 min later and informed the front desk person of that she said if we knew our site # we could have just set up then walked back to the office. I told her maybe she should tell the others that because there's no sign stating it. We were placed in the new section in the back that was level and easy to get in to but there were no trees and not much space between sites. We took a stroll around the place to check it out and see what was so great about it. The deeper swimming pool was OK and there was a shaded area with ping pong and picnic tables. The splash pad was better than nothing but of the 4 or so spray guns maybe one worked. The playground next to it was like splinter heaven and looked like it was ready to fall over and not safe to play on (supposedly since we stayed it has been replaced). The lagoon style pool was really nice looking and had nice palm trees but some of the furniture was tearing apart. The pond was over grown and the putt putt course was also overgrown and all of the water features on it were full of moss and slime and smelled bad. The bathrooms/showers were nice and were air conditioned. The fishing pond was through a field that you had to climb a fence to get to and was really overgrown. The beach was a few hundred feet down the highway and was unsafe walking on the shoulder with young kids. As far as the lazy river, they have been saying for a year that it is almost completed and guess what...still almost completed! (finally completed June 2017) For the price I would stay somewhere else.

Was surprised that this facility was not really worth a 10-10-10 rating from Good Sam. Restrooms were horrible! Dark, dank, smelly and dirty! The lazy river is not complete and doesn't really look like it will be up and running any time soon. Very disappointing!
We just bought our used RV and this was our first experience ever with an rv park. The park was clean and well maintained but the roads were a little tight for our 39' rig. Our site was nice and quiet and we were where we wanted to be within the park. They advertise their "Lazy River" on the web site, but it's still under construction. Overall, a great time for our first experience.
How dare you rate this park 10 10 10. Cable sucks, WiFi is less than fair and location is less than desireable. Don't waste your time here.
There are pros and cons to every park, and they might not be the same for everyone. I traveled with my wife and two small kids. PROS: Clean spots, quite park, mini golf for kids, good cable and wifi. The adult pool is really nice. They are in the process of building a cool lazy river/pool area (estimated open date after Easter). CONS: They charged me additional fees to nightly rate for my 5 year old. Mini golf was also an additional fee. Good luck getting anyone to answer the phone in the office.... Read More

The pool under the office and in the "spa" weren't very appealing. You're a good 15 minutes from Galveston, which could be good for others, but we wanted to be closer to restaurants and attractions. No beach access as its across a four-lane road.
OVERALL: A nice place with nice staff. I would stay there again.

They have some RV parts just in case and the bathrooms are mighty fine.
My only issue with the our stay was the "adult" pool was very cloudy and there were underwater hazards (my husband kicked one) and some broken pieces of tile around the back side of the pool. (hazardous to bare feet) This may have just been a temporary pool issue. (I hope)
If you have kiddos this is definitely a great place to go.

Great: site cleaness, staff is cordial, great pools, nice spa, mini-put, beach Average: access to beach (you must cross a busy road but it is ok) One negative: training room smelly (humidity and dirty)
This is a wonderful place to stay. I cant wait to go back
Everything about the park was great, with the exception of the adult pool. It was never cleaned during our entire stay.

The main drag of the sea wall area is a few minutes drive north if you want to hit the larger restaurants and attractions there.
If you're staying in the park there are plenty of activities right there as I said. Pool, hot tub, all the standard fare but with a great attitude from the staff and other tenants who are loyal regulars for the most part! They even have a central pool/pond that they project movies over on certain nights for everyone to enjoy! It's really just a great place with plenty to do whatever your mood is, and I promise they'll do everything to make sure it's a great mood always!

We found Jamaica Beach RV Park online , the price was right as compared to Florida beaches. That fall my wife flew to Galveston with her mom to get a feel for the Park. They were pleasantly surprised. Dad refused to go as he was not ready for such a change.
December arrived and a day after Christmas we left Wisconsin and arrived at Galveston 3 days later.
I setup the MH and ran thru some of the controls. 7 days and Many notes later, I was off, leaving them to fend for themselves.
Their stay was from December of 2014 to April 2015.
I arrived to pick them up in March to be pleasantly surprised at how well they adjusted. The park and park owners were amazing. they treated them like family. The community that winters there has more then enough activities to keep them busy but most importantly , the owners treat every person as a family member. By the time their stay ended, Our folks already reserved for next winter, and , they wanted the same spot.
Back at home now , going thru the summer , dad misses Galveston and the Park. Thats the most amazing thing of all. Don't hesitate , this place is amazing.
