Easy check-in at the guard gate and we ended up choosing full hookup pull-through site #325. It was absolutely enormous and very level. As full-time RVers we have stayed in 40+ Thousand Trails parks over the last 2 years and this was easily the largest site that we've ever had. Surprisingly there are a lot of pull-through sites at this park. This is extremely rare for Thousand Trails. Super cool! Restroom #5 was close and it has been recently remodeled. Great showers and everything was spotless.... Read More

Surprisingly there are a lot of pull-through sites at this park. This is extremely rare for Thousand Trails. Super cool! Restroom #5 was close and it has been recently remodeled. Great showers and everything was spotless. There are 2 lodges but we didn't investigate them. Pool was swarmed with kids at all hours. We also didn't try the optional paid wifi but my AT&T phone had 3 bars and the hotspot worked great. My wife's Verizon phone only had 1 bar. Lots of young kids running around and cutting through other people's sites. Thumbs down for the poor parental supervision! Another plus was being able to program 25 over the air TV channels including CBS and NBC. The guard staff were fantastic! They always opened the gate for us, which meant that we didn't have to manually key in the entry code. Recycling bins are available at the front of the park. Plentiful grocery and restaurant options are located just a few short miles away.

We arrived very early on a Saturday and were lucky to score a "lakeside" back-in 50 amp site just vacated minutes before. During our week there we witnessed much maneuvering by other arrivals trying to land a favored spot. "Lakeside" is a bit of a euphemism as the water features are more like muddy ponds with lots of ducks and geese (and the associated quacks and honks and bird poop). It was nice having our rear window overlooking the water. Sites are very spacious but pretty much dirt and can be mucky in wet weather. The park was crowded with winter vacationers, but was very well organized with lots of planned activities for adults and kids. Normally they have an adults only pool, but it was closed for winter. There is a Country Store for must haves, but a large grocery store is about a mile away. Our site was satellite friendly but many of the other sites were in treed areas. WiFi is paid only, nothing free. $15/week but even paid, it was so slow as to be unusable.

My wife and I stayed at this place from Tuesday 3/13 they Thursday 3/15. This was part of a decision to get the RV off the blocks and back onto the open road, at least for a little bit. In simple terms, I found this park kind of underwhelming. It does have waterways as per the advertisements, but I would not want to wade in them or eat any fish caught in them. The full hookups worked properly - no issues. The store is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday . the days we were there. ? There's not a... Read More

It's a good place to spend the night. The park appears to be in a jet aircraft flight path. Might be traffic from March AFB. Their web page on the Thousand Trails site lists WiFi, but fails to mention that they charge for it. When I asked at the gate I was told $2 per night. When my wife called the WiFi provider, they told her that it's now $3.95 per night. You might want to factor that into your budget. Me, I declined -- I felt kind of cheated.

This park is a nice campground for families and the younger set that enjoy getting out in their RVs, there just isn't a lot set up for families to do here other than swim. The main clubhouse gathering spot has a weekend cafe open limited hours selling the basic camping type fare, offers a wealth of activities tables (one must provide their own activities unless you are a senior, then there are things on the calendar), and even has a very small kids T.V. room. The game room was never in operation... Read More

The main clubhouse gathering spot has a weekend cafe open limited hours selling the basic camping type fare, offers a wealth of activities tables (one must provide their own activities unless you are a senior, then there are things on the calendar), and even has a very small kids T.V. room. The game room was never in operation the three different times we have visited this park. (why have video games and a pool table and a foosball table if we can't use any of it?)The family game center, where one can check out movies, has a wealth of family board games to play...at the very small table in the room. Games cannot leave the room. This room needs to move to the main activities room where more than 4 people can sit down and play games together. They want families here, but clearly have no idea how to accommodate them! Cell service coverage is great, and if you have satellite in your RV you will get great service in most of the park. Sites are large and not uniform in any way. Some are back in, others are pull through and a select few are 50 amp. Most of the park is 30 amp, and all have FHUs. A few even have nice shade...but most of those are leased out. Menifee is a park in the Thousand Trails system. Beware: Snow Birds think they own the park. Far too many of them live here nearly year around (they lease annual sites), and they are very easy to spot: temporary shelters for carports, huge BBQ's, lots of pretty lights outside their doors and Gazebos, storage sheds, permanent steps/decks at their doors, and dogs, always dogs. Nothing about where they park says they are weekend camping. The Snow Birds will ignore the rules, and complain if others catch them on it. The best time to be here is in the summer months, when most of the Snow Birds stay away because it is just too hot, and for the few that do hang around they will escape to the "Adult Pool". (which is fine, their activities take over the main pool in winter far too much) The laundry rooms are o.k. Seems whenever a third party takes over the machines, they are never all working at the same time, and are very expensive here. Common rooms like laundry and restrooms need a facelift, and serious cobweb removal. Pools are crystal clear and the proper temps (i.e. heated), but the kiddie pool is freezing. Lots of lawn chairs to stow your towels on while you enjoy the pool. Watch out for the ducks! If you park next to the stream, beware of poop. You have been warned! Kids play area is pathetically small, but at least it's in the shade! Park sells propane at the entrance, and extremely limited camp/rv related supplies in the store. In winter the store is only open on the weekends. As to Adult activities, Snow Birds will love the maze-like clubhouse with pool tables, a piano, a gazillion puzzles, 2 coffee stations, a huge TV room, and lots of places to play poker. This is also where you will find the offices and the park manager. As my coffee pot had died, I would come down here with my coffee and brew a pot for our RV insulated carafe daily. Snow Birds thought that was funny. WiFi is again Tengo, the pay as you go system that is really too expensive and only good for one device at a time.

We have stayed at Wilderness Lakes many times since 2006. Great camp ground. We went on a holiday weekend (for 3 nights) for a shake down of our new Trailer. The Park was packed. No rules appeared to be in play. The trailer behind us was Partying till 2am every night. The Rangers used to drive around. We Didn't see even one this time! The Bathrooms were empty of toilet paper (again a holiday weekend) so that didn't shock us. But You knew your park was full to max. That means more facility checks!... Read More

The Cooler in store that had the ice cream in it was broken. Yet they were still selling ice cream?! None of it was frozen. All and all I think the main problem was the lack of reinforcing the rules for the partiers. The spot behind us had 6 cars and one trailer, 4 tents, ez-up and we counted 16-18 people. This camp ground Used to have a 8 person max per site. Guess thats gone now as well. Anyway, We did have a good time just the same. Just beware of the party crowd.
