Have been camping at Cool Lea Campsite for the last 20 years and find the facilities to be very clean and well maintained -- It is run by a husband and wife who will bend over backwards to help you out and make your stay enjoyable--
Lovely grounds, large camping spot. Beautiful view of Lake Kayutah. Very good energy on the grounds. The caretakers were very welcoming and engaging. Nice little store. A short drive to Watkins Glen and other areas of interest. We were there for 2 nights. So, quiet and very peaceful. We loved everything about it.
Centrally located between two finger lakes and many waterfalls. We stayed only a couple nights on the way home while we visit water falls in State parks at Watkins Glen, Trumansburg, and Ithaca areas. For this the camp serves it's purpose well. Lots are spacious. Some are not sewer, but for our 2 nights we were fine with the dumping station on the way out. There is a common tent area with tables, TV and WiFi and a kids playground. Owners are very pleasant and seem very engaged with the maintenance.... Read More

Showers are 50 cents on timer which is fine since I have teenagers that like to draw long ones... it limits them. Someone else complained about the speed bumps... they are not a big deal and you should be going slow through a camp anyway!

We arrived and were directed to our site on the north 40 drive. The sites were level and partly shaded. It was a back in site. We went down to the office to check in and there was some confusion about the length of my reservation placed over the phone. The owner very graciously amended my reservation to suit us. We went back to the office after dinner to get firewood and they were closed. I called the owners and they were trusting me to take firewood and pay the next day. My son loved the swing... Read More

The restrooms were clean. The walking trails were nice. The boat ride was nice. I would recommend this campground and I would stay again. Only notes: virtually no internet/cell service so plan on being unplugged. I have heard that some campgrounds spray for Mosquitos. This one does not. So bring good bug spray.

highly recommend not staying here. will start out with, as soon as you pull into the entrance there's HUGE speed bumps. so if you don't drive a four wheel drive truck, you will bottom your car out. speed limit on the road is 10 mph. if the owner sees or thinks your going any faster he will hunt you down and give you an attitude. we stayed at the campground in our pull behind camper. there were lots of "partiers" that were drunk and obnoxious. there campers were down by the lake front. so if you... I would highly recommend not staying here, our experience was absolutely horrible!!

The good- beautiful views of the lake. Very quiet campground even on what should have been a busy weekend. Not so good- for the price I paid for the site, I fully expected free showers and at a minimum locks on the bathroom stalls. I understand kids and their pranks, but totally removing the locks is a bit much.
