Stayed three nights. Small park, but excellent layout with easy in easy out. Right on the canal dividing Houghton/Hancock. Excellent water, sewer, electric hookups. Cable/wifi service was good. Good location for visiting Copper Harbor and all the light houses along the way. We visited a copper mine while there and well worth the time. The office was extremely helpful on our visit/ The only negative one might find was no restrooms/shower in the park. There is an adjoining city park a short... Read More

One of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed at. Ample (but not what I would call large) sized lot, concrete pad with nice grass surroundings, and VERY easy angled parking. Right on the Portage canal, and each site has a picnic table with rustic wood roof over it and a park bench, both overlooking the canal. Full hookup, with all connections very close together. Although not a problem if you're self contained as we were, there are NO restroom/shower facilities (although at it's entrance there... Read More

Although not a problem if you're self contained as we were, there are NO restroom/shower facilities (although at it's entrance there is a public park with restrooms, which are maybe 150 yards from center of campground). Very friendly office staff, and very well maintains park. Located at the entrance to the Keweenaw peninsula and just a couple of miles from Michigan Technological University (my alma mater). We plan to return next fall for a few days during peak color, and would HIGHLY recommend this campground.

Beautiful setting along the river. Extremely well maintained. Manager was very helpful with ideas of things to do/see while there. We would have loved to have spent more time there, but schedule didn't allow. We had to move on. Small city park, but all sites have a great view of the river.

excellent stay and great canal/lake view all full hookup but no restroom so not a place if you are not self-contained. I reccommend this to anyone. small city park is near by for swimming and picnics. Very well groomed and very nice caretakers.
