Enjoyed a 3-night stay at Cloudland Canyon. The nearby canyon is obviously a huge drawing card. The West Rim campground is further from the canyon, but more private and wooded compared to the East Rim campground which is right next to the canyon (within walking distance). I stayed at the West Rim campground. Reservations at the time I visited were made based on dates only, giving guests the chance to pick their own spot on a first-come first-served basis. This can be good or bad for you depending on when you arrive and which spot you want. There are some very private sites and they are fairly spacious. It is big-rig friendly. The campground hosts kept things very clean and well maintained whether it was dumping trash bins or blowing leaves off vacant sites. I would definitely recommend this campground and plan to revisit in the future.

Great park with awesome views. Only negative is there is no control over the spots. They are first come first serve, regarless of size. All of the drive through spots for big rigs or 5th wheels had tents and or teardrop campers in them. They don't need a space that large. When they take those, that reduces the amount of larger units that can get in as the smaller spaces that would be for tents or small units are left over since bigger ones can't use them. Need a control of some type for... Read More

The west rim camping area is beautiful. Plenty of space between sites and lots of trees. We stayed in the west rim camping area and drove through the east rim camping area. The east rim is open and sunny with very few trees and is near a busy area in the park.
