Love these campgrounds! Beautiful clean amenities especially the showers. Peaceful and quiet at night. My only problem is they informed me that they no longer offer Good Sam discounts so I'm surprised to see this posting. Highly recommended otherwise. After reading some of the other reviews, I think alot of work has taken place here because the showers & restrooms have been completely renovated.
The site we stayed in had a welcoming shady spot after a very hot NM day. The customer service was excellent and the amenities were spot on. After an amazing day at the caverns this was a gem to find for a place to stay!
Wanted to like this place because the staff was super accomodating and nice and they have some grass sites. This place is way overpriced for the amenities which need serious updating. - You get bamboozled by the clean check-in, store & laundry which are inviting and then you see the rest of the place. - Their "sparkling clean" showers/restrooms were so gross and trough style so you would be showering in someone elses grime even with flip flops. - The cable was spotty and kept going in and out from... - The cable was spotty and kept going in and out from clear to pixelated most of the time.
- Couldn't play horseshoes because they were missing 2 horseshoes.
- Couldn't play cornhole because they were missing a beanbag.
- The laundry room was super clean, but it was $7 ($3.50 each) to do a load.
- The pool was very outdated & super loud if any kids were in it (it echoes because it is indoors and you can't hold a conversation).
- The pool is cold even though they say it is heated. It is okay to put your feet and legs in for a quick cool off, but you can't swim in it long. They set it at 80 degrees and there is no sun to counteract the cold because it is indoors. The proper temperature for elderly and children is from 84 to 94 degrees. 80 Degrees is for competition swimmers to keep them chilled and stimulated. I wonder if the managers have ever swam in the pool to see how cold it really is.
The pool was the only reason we booked this park so we wasted 3 nights here and paid almost $55 a night for a parking spot.
The staff, grass sites, the trees, & good wifi gives this the extra star otherwise it would be a one star based on the pool & amenities. Overall, we would not recommend this place if you want to use the facilities. If you are just passing through and need a spot for a night I would not recommend it either because it is so overpriced (there is BLM land all around the caverns for an overnighter).

I don't know what pics they are showing on their website, but this place is a filthy DUMP!! They have overnights stay in a dirt field with hookups. The restroom is 150 yards from this dirt field!!! I'm handicapped, and it took me over a half hour to get to their dump of a bathroom. We didn't throw our sewer line down, because we were leaving before sunup. We didn't want to unhitch, because leaving so early would wake other poor victims of this park! IF we would have been booked in for more than... Read More

IF we would have been booked in for more than 1 night, we would have been just as well off in a Walmart parking lot!!!! Told it was 35.00 for night, but bill left in mailbox for us, was a 56.00 charge!! Save you class, and stay at Walmart!!!
Took 10 REAL pics of this park & bathroom, but nowhere to upload!!!!!!

Nice place to stay on trip to the Caverns, Roswell and Guadalupe Peak. The indoor pool was a nice break from the heat after hiking. The staff is great and they show you to your site with a golf cart. Laundry machines work well and are right off the TV room so there is a place to hang out while doing laundry. Level sites and easy to hook up.
This is not an RV park. Its an extended stay. Most of the people in the park go to work at 4:45 am and come home between 5:00-10:30 pm. People drove right though our camp site or walked though. Never again!!
We only stayed one night-office person was very helpful.
If you have a fully contained unit, this is a good place to stay. If you need a bathroom and showers, not so much. There was no toilet paper in the men's room at all for two full days. It is obvious that the bathroom is rarely cleaned. I will say the folks who run it are nice, but I will never stay here again due to the bathroom.
We stayed 2 nights passing through the area to visit the nearby National Park Service sites. The park has the appearance of a former KOA. The park is a few miles SW of town along one of the major roads (National Parks Hwy also known as US 62-180) servicing Carlsbad. The road has multiple lanes near the park's entrance. Strangely, leaving town SE on US 285, there was a warning sign about the road being subject to sink holes. Didn't see the same warning sign coming up US 285 towards town. The... Read More

The sites are a mixture of P/T's and back-ins. There was an escort to the site. The interior roads and site parking pads are compacted gravel. Several sites appear to be extended stay sites. The interior roads and parking pads are narrow. Some of the turns were tight almost doubling back. Some of the P/T sites were long enough for coaches & their toads. A couple P/T's were shared- two spaces along the same parking pad. This park understands the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level site as the sites were generally level. Distance establishes privacy between the sites but there wasn't much as the sites were on top of each other. They have full hook ups - water, electricity (either 50 or 30 AMP), & sewer. The utility connections were towards the middle of the sites. Some of the sewer fittings stood up above the ground making it difficult to establish a downhill flow. There were outside tables.
There were a few trees scattered around the park so satellite reception would be dependent upon site assignment and your dish configuration. The park brochure showed 36 cable and 3 broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels.
The park provided WiFi was intermittent. It wouldn't load second pages. The park was close to being full. It was password protected. Our Verizon WiFi hotspot worked well. Didn't try the NET10 phone so don't know about the reception.
There were several designated fenced pet areas around the park. They were adequate to exercise a dog and there was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park roads. There were bag dispensers and waste collection stations in the fenced pet areas and around the park to dispose of waste.
For being in a hazardous/severe weather area, there was no underground storm shelter. None of the structures in the park were identified as a severe weather shelter.
Although it was nothing special, we would stay here again if the need arose while traveling through the area.

We stayed here for 3 nights - very easy drive to the caverns. Great level pull thru site. I also did laundry while there-small but very doable. Bathrooms are next to office in front of park. They were mediocre but usable-we did not use because they were too far to walk to from our site. Office and MA personnel were very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at the Carlsbad RV park because it is a Good Sam park. However, I would not stay here again. The bathroom/showers were in very poor condition. Good Sam rating is a 7, but I would rate them at a 3. They are not clean and in need of a great deal of maintenance. It is also a noisy place with people coming and going all hours of the night. We stayed two nights and couldn't wait to leave. I definitely do not recommend staying here.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would be hard pressed to give the restrooms here a 1. They are the worst I've seen. The rest of the facility is OK, nothing great, but OK
Very well maintained park, our dog enjoyed the dog park a lot... Was surprised to be charged the high end of what they charge $34 - $42 and we paid $42 after our good sam discount. Only concern would be we were next to a permanent sight with kids and they ran all night and there is no quite time enforced as vehicles ran all night as well. But these are things management needs to know about to fix.. I would stay again - but I would ask for a better price..
Well-tended park. Many long term residents but nicely kept. Indoor pool and rec room looked nice but we did not have a chance to use them. Spaces are gravel and level, little shade. Cable and WiFi worked fine. Very convenient to the caverns. Would stay here again especially after driving by some of the other RV parks in the area that are not as welcoming.
level sight, nice laundry, surly maintenance staff not my fault the cable did not work and you did not label it so any one would know. I would stay there again
