First Landing State Park is right off the Chesapeake Bay. The beach access/boardwalks are adequate and offer a great view of sunsets on the bay. The roads are very narrow, so travel slowly and with caution to your RV site. The sites are very small and narrow and provide only water and electricity hook ups. There is only one dump site for the entire park and it is at the entrance to the park. The bath houses were disgusting. They smelled horrible and the shower facilities were something right out... They smelled horrible and the shower facilities were something right out of a horror movie. The worst thing about this park were the very sharp, pricky thorns that were all over the ground. Our poor dogs were in agony each time we walked them because the thorns would get wedged between the pads on their paws. Even through we tried to stay on the road during our walks, they still picked up these thorns on their paws. First Landing is not a park that we will likely stay at again. We just can't put our poor dogs through that experience again.

Awesome place to stay! We've stayed here two years in a row. No sites are directly on the beach but it's easy to walk over the access bridges to get to a very nice beach on the bay. Bathrooms and showers are all very functional and fairly clean. Powerful hot showers. Convenient dumpsters and recycle bins. Laundry facilities are decent. Gift shop/store is well stocked with groceries or supplies but there are a lot of stores minutes from here. Sites are back in and mostly private with a good amount... Read More

All sites are sand. Good power and good water. Wifi is good 24 hrs a day at the office. They have outdoor tables and chairs to sit at with power outlets available while on wifi. No wifi at sites. Roads to sites are in good shape but narrow and you have to be careful to keep your rig from getting scratched by branches. The staff keeps up with trimming, though. Make sure you have bug spray for yourself and pooch. If your dog starts favoring a foot, pick off the nasty, prickly seed pod stuck in it's paw then let pooch run around on the beach!
