I am uncertain why Good Sam would have rated this campground so high. I will now question all their ratings and do additional research before booking a campground. I have a 45' Class A with a tow vehicle. My rig was able to get into and out of the park with no problem. My pull through site was easy to get into. My tow vehicle stuck out into the road and needed to be unhooked immediately. Almost all sites are VERY unlevel, including mine. I counted a handful of sites that were somewhat level. They... My tow vehicle stuck out into the road and needed to be unhooked immediately. Almost all sites are VERY unlevel, including mine. I counted a handful of sites that were somewhat level. They charge xtra for those. My rig could not be made level without using wood blocks under the front tires. My awning was only able to go out 50% due to trees. My neighbor had the same issue. The amenities are a joke. Playground is horrible and needs a lot of repair/maintenance. Bathrooms are outdated and need a lot of maintenance (tiles missing in floor) etc...The office is only open noon to 6pm. Just a very sloppy, dirty and unkept campground. Also, there is a very, very busy concrete plant directly across the street. Trucks start coming out at 7am, so you will hear a lot of noise from them. Would I stay there again........... no!

People were very nice but the park is not nice.
Best park we have ever stayed at. The family atmosphere is incredible with a high focus on kids, it’s a safe place for them to get to just be kids. We love the Friday night food truck/outdoor movie night! The long term folks here are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met and the staff is fantastic, they take care of any need quickly and are very kind and welcoming! The park is so pretty, with large trees providing plenty of shade and tons of wildlife. If the creek is running take a stroll by... Read More

If the creek is running take a stroll by it and you will most likely see cardinals and lots of other bird species. Everything is clean and the grounds are well maintained.

Warning...If you are assigned spots F, G, H, I, J, M, N...do not stay at this park due to you may not be able to get onto sites secondary to site configuration and grade of ground. We saw several RVs who had reservations attempt to park and then just drive off when they could not get in. Two bathrooms on map but really only one bathroom for guests. Two showers with curtains. Three commodes with doors but so small and difficult to get into and shut door, esp if you are older or have children. Only... Read More

Three commodes with doors but so small and difficult to get into and shut door, esp if you are older or have children. Only water and electric site available when we were going through. We needed to use the bathroom facilities due to staying 3 nights and three adults with cooking, showers, etc. No hot water at all the first night ( either restroom and laundry) and office only open 6 hrs each day with variable times. Paper towels in womens' restrooms not working nor the entrance lock to womens restroom. I told the maintenence workers I saw the next day regarding all the issues. They stated pilot light probably out on the "on demand" heater and lock probably switched by "anybody". Long story short, men and womens bathrooms never had more than "warm/hot" water more than 3 to 5 minutes, paper towel dispenser in womens bathroom only gave 3 inches at a time and womens bathroom lock never locked. They do have a dump station but we did not easy to unhook and set up again or use your manual portable options. Construction company next door so big truck noise continuous throughout business hours. We will not stay here again unless we can stay in different sites that we know we can get into and have full hook up. Positives are office staff extremely nice( when office is open 6 hrs day at variable times), park is only about 20 minutes from Knoxville, and park is relatively clean and kept up. Park residents (many long term) are nice. Office staff stated they were getting bids to redo the bathrooms but basic and dependable hot water for at least 15 minutes is a reasonable expectation that you cannot expect.from this park at this present time. Hopefully, they will get the bathrooms remodeled but site configuration for sited previously mentioned will still be an issue. Safe travels to all.

Thank you for your review. We are working hard to resolve our outdated bathrooms and to reconfigure our water & electric only sites. We are so sorry that you had issues while you were staying with us. I hope that you can come back and stay with us in a full hook up site or after we have the bathrooms updated.
Don't let the outdated website pictures fool you. This park needs updating and lacks basic cleaning. Our reserved spot had a large family still in the spot at 4pm even though they did not pay for the day. We were told we didn't pay to lock our spot. Funny our neighbor who did lock did not get their spot and was given a refund for the lock fee and given a smaller spot that required them to unhook because of the small pull through. A Garbage/ recycle facility next to the park has garbage truck traffic... Read More

A Garbage/ recycle facility next to the park has garbage truck traffic starting at 6AM. Dead Rat in our space, 80 of the 120 spaces have permanent residences. The nastiest Laundry/bathroom facilities we have ever experienced. Do yourself a big favor and move on. This place has me questioning any Good Sam rating.

We are very happy that we discussed your concerns over the phone about the campground. We hope you come back and stay again after we upgrade all of our restrooms. Thank you so much for staying with us.
We were traveling in a 40' class A (along with another family in a class C) and were staying there to explore Knoxville for a few days. The staff was actually very friendly and polite. Check in was easy and the shop had a good selection of basic camping/rv supplies. Pool was small. Playground was small but not bad for young kids. However, the drive to our site took us through the permanent section with the many old, very poorly maintained campers. The open sites border the permanent section.... Read More

Semi flat concrete pads under pine trees. The residents appeared to be friendly and greeting but ended up hovering all night and trying to sell us supplies. There was a very extreme discomfort with the permanent residents. Our wives were unsettled the entire time we were there. I wish there would have been a review to warn us before setting up with our families. I would recommend that you find another place to stay.

Definite parking lot-type campground! The store/check-in area looks cute and is well stocked, but the 30 amp/water service area STINKS! Very un-level sites, looks trashy and speaking of which, there is constant big truck noise right behind our site from the trash processing facility not more than 100 yards from where we're parked. If you like parking/camping while listening to constant truck backing up beeping, scrapping and banging noises, then you won't mind this. Sadly, this is the trashiest... Read More

My wife and I traveled from Oregon to Florida and back again, staying at numerous RV parks. This park was without question the WORST park we encountered. In fairness, I must state that unbeknownst to us at the time, we were placed in an overflow spot. When calling ahead, my wife was told that they only had water/electric spots available, which was OK with us. At check-in, we were given a park map and told to take our pick of several available spots in a particular location. The spots were at... Read More

In fairness, I must state that unbeknownst to us at the time, we were placed in an overflow spot. When calling ahead, my wife was told that they only had water/electric spots available, which was OK with us. At check-in, we were given a park map and told to take our pick of several available spots in a particular location. The spots were at the back of the park, tucked among the trees, on a hill that made it extremely difficult to park our MH and virtually impossible to get it level. We were finally able to access a spot only due to the kind assistance of a fellow RVer (who was forced to park his Class A at the top of the hill w/o any hookups). The restroom/shower area's lack of appeal was only somewhat overshadowed by their filthiness. There was a Waste Management facility behind our location, and their trucks began rolling at 3am, making it very difficult to sleep. Sites in the main section of the park have concrete slabs and that area had a much more pleasant appearance. However, the staff should both inform potential patrons when only overflow sites remain, but describe the conditions of those sites.

Little contact with staff but they were friendly. Very easy access to the interstates. Great American history with Oak Ridge National Lab nearby. Do the 3 hour bus tour if you can make it. Really worthwhile if you like history. They basically ended the war there. Pretty impressive when you. Insider how slow things move now. Park was great for a few nights. Long term?
Very friendly staff. Easy layout to get around in, but not too "structured" (meaning perfect rows of parallel parked RV's). Only stayed one night, but liked parking amoungst the trees rather than just a token tree here and there. Appeared to be quite a few "long term" residents.
Very friendly and helpful. Easy off I 75 heading south. Did not use facilities, stayed in our RV. Our site was pull through easy in easy out. Pulled in and stayed just for the night.
Easy access from I 75 with a very user friendly staff. Went out of the way get my cable tv operating. Would stop again.
Was quiet
Pretty rustic. Gravel roads are pretty narrow. Bath house was clean. Not very close to anything except the Interstate.
