We recently stayed at this campground while working at the nearby Army base. We booked a multi-week stay in advance and paid a non-refundable fee in advance. We should have read the reviews; unfortunately, we saw the 9 Good Sam rating and booked. There is no way this campground should have this level of rating. We were given a pull-through spot that was over 100 feet long. The only level spot was at the top/front of the site. The utility connections were too far away to reach normally and required... We were given a pull-through spot that was over 100 feet long. The only level spot was at the top/front of the site. The utility connections were too far away to reach normally and required over 30 feet of power cord and sewer pipe. Thankfully, we had an extension cord for the shore power. We had to buy another length of sewer hose to reach. The site was very unlevel. While it was a pull-through, the road at the front was too narrow and crowded with multiple cars to actually move forward out of the site, so my husband had to back up the entire 100 feet to pull out.
The campground was dirty. There was a diaper on the ground by the playground for the entire two-week stay. The trash can at the pavilion wasn’t emptied at all while we were there. The trash dumpsters were located at the back of the campground, but they were in poor condition and surrounded by trash on the ground. I wouldn’t walk my dog anywhere near the dumpsters. While there were signs all over the campground to clean up after your pets, there should have been signs to clean up after yourself. One resident walked her three dogs across our site, where they decided to do their business.
The campground was noisy – several vehicles left early every morning for work (not campers pulling in and out). There is also a racetrack across the lake – the noise wasn’t terrible and was only present on the weekend when there were races.
The landscapers chose to cut the grass on our site and blew the grass cuttings all over our carpets. But… the trash that was in our firepit when we arrived was never removed. It was still there when we left!
It appears as if there are a significant number of full-time residents – even though the office assured us that there were no full-time or seasonal sites. A number of the trailers at the campground had wood piles, sheds, permanent decks, and even fences.
Most of the roads were not paved. All of the roads were in disrepair.
The pool appeared nice – we didn’t use it. We didn’t access the bath house, but we typically do not. The camp store was sparsely stocked, but this is not unusual for some campgrounds. There was wifi, but it was spotty at best.
I do not recommend this campground. If we had been able to get our money refunded, we would have moved on the second day.

At first appearance it looks nice , the website looks nice .... tried to find the only bathhouse for over 100 sites . Oh my the only difference between a mobile home park that's ready for the bull dozer and this rv park is these are RV's , many haven't moved for a long time and the junk is piled high around them . Very bad roads past the front few rows , and they are building over 100 more . Men's Bathroom has one urinal covered by plastic and the showers ore one large open room like in high school... Then in the more we get a call the camp overbooked and wanted to know when we were leaving this was at about 8:30am .
We won't stay there again, I feel safer in the Walmart parking lot then this place .

Friendly, quaint campground, highly recommended.
We stayed here for several nights in order to tour the Civil War sties in the area.Upon arrival, a rather bored young woman led us to our site. We had reserved a pull through site which it was. The blacktop pad was uneven with about a 10 degree pitch to it. Stepping off of it was difficult as there was a fairly steep drop off onto uneven and somewhat rocky soil. As the wife is partially disabled, this caused problems for her getting to and from our truck. Most of the park is inhabited by permanent... Read More

Most of these sites were disheveled in appearance with a lot of debris littering the sites. This left us with an uneasy feeling while on site. One morning we went to the office to get some ice and to find out where to dump our trash. (Unlike everywhere else we have stayed there was no "welcoming literature'" provided with such information.) The woman was clearly annoyed that we were there and was very brusque. We would not recommend this park.

Made a reservation on line last February or March for a stay on July 6, 2019 and received confirmation for one night at $37.80, including the Good Sam member discount. The employees here are not the friendliest people by any means. Checked in and received a copy of the park map with the campsite number highlighted. So much for the "Escort to Site" amenity. Found my site which was a narrow long strip of blacktop wide enough for the motorhome. Awning area and patio mat were in dirt. No cable. Here are the issues. A lot of campsites are monthly or annual. Here are the issues.

People coming and going all night. Definitely not a campsite you could relax at. In fact, one of the locals at a very nice dinner spot after we told her where we are staying call the campground the "place where all the gypsy's are". Her word not mine but definitely accurate after thinking about it and staying here.
WIFI is a joke. They have 3 websites available. Guest 5g, Guest 2g, and Guest. Of course the only one the password works with is the Guest one and it rarely has signal and when it does it is slow slow you're better off using your phone. I called the office to inquire about the password for the 5g or 2g and the explanation is that they are only used for the office and not guests. I explained that the internet is not working or is very slow. Her response was "well what do you expect? We have over 200 sites with people using up to 4 devices at each site which makes it slow". Again, great customer service. Oh and BTW this was the Manager !!!
Pool is beautiful set alongside the lake for a great view. The problem? They are only open till 7pm so you need to hurry back after touring some Civil War Sites in 90 degree heat to have any hopes of using the pool. Also, the campground sells day passes to all the locals who bring in the coolers, lunches, toys and tons of kids. Hard to find spots to even sit at during the day. They all seem to scatter around 6pm leaving only an hour to use the pool in peace and quiet.
Won't be back here again, ever.

Sorry. Old, not well maintained. Way too many permanent campers, with additions. Supposed to have 200+ campsites but maybe only 30 available. Only one bath house in the middle of the park, not very convenient and no parking, but it was clean. Low rating for only have one bath house for this many residents. Pool was nice, lake was nice.
I agree with the other two reviews found on this site. We are the only class A motorhome in the park and like the other writer, we are parked on dirt with roots and a terrible slant to the site. This is not a campground, it's a trailer park. The vast majority of the campers there are permanent WITH PEOPLE LIVING IN THEM. We didn't have any issues with any of the folks, but that's not what I want to see when I stay at a CAMPground. Plus, the sites are terrible. Yes, they are full hookup, but I was parked over tree roots which we kept tripping over all weekend. VERY unhappy.
Do NOT believe the ratings or photos on this campground. It was a huge disappointment. Although there were several newly paved pull thru sites, they were nowhere near level and even with blocks under our jacks we were severely tilted. Whoever paved the sites did not know what they were doing. The staff we met at check in was nice enough but the only information we received was a copy of our receipt - no maps, no park rules, no indication where dumpsters, bathrooms or dog areas might be located.... The staff we met at check in was nice enough but the only information we received was a copy of our receipt - no maps, no park rules, no indication where dumpsters, bathrooms or dog areas might be located. We were directed to our site by walking outside and being told to park next to 'that boat', which, by the way, had not been moved in years!! Most of the sites were occupied by permanent residents that cared very little about the condition of their sites - there was a garbage bag lying next to our site when we arrived and still there when we left. And, as luck would have it, when we arrived there was no water! It was finally repaired but it took several hours. My husband and I would not ever return to this campground unless we were absolutely desperate for someplace to stay for only one night.

A few asphalt, long level pull through transient sites. Ok WIFI, lots of over the air TV. Inviting pool. Fishing lake, where our dog had a good swim. Convenient to I85 and US460. Immaculate bathrooms. Lots of workers and military, fairly well kept. We would stay again.
