Terrible facility. Cramped, tight, rutted, and very uneven space (F3). Our RV's rear wheels came completely off the ground in the process of auto-leveling because the site was so uneven. The bottom step to exit the RV was about two feet (!!?!?!) off the ground, making entry and exit both difficult and unsafe, especially since I am recovering from two total knee replacements. There were other, far more suitable spaces available, but apparently people who only stay one night are given the worst spots in the park. We would never stay here again, nor would we suggest the park to anyone else.

On 05/04/2023 We arrived at Dakota Ridge RV Park and were assigned site D7. The site was so unlevel that our auto-level system errored out and could not physically level our unit (the wheel on the right side were 6" off the ground and the steps were unusable.) The site next to ours was empty and level. I returned to the office and requested site D6. I was told that I would be charged $35 to relocate from my unusable assigned site. If I cancelled my reservation and moved on, I would be charged for the whole time I had reserved. I am disputing the $35 charge with my credit card company. Incidentally when I talked to my neighbor in the next site over, he had the same problem and was charged $35 also. To sum up, my options were 1. To stay in a site I couldn't use. 2. Forfeit $216 fee and move on or 3. Pay $35 to move to a site that I could use. Buyer Beware!!

When i made a reservation for this place they never told me there was a bar playing loud music all day long until 10h30 pm. They never wanted to reimburse me because i left the place the music was unbearable. They even told me to sit down and relax and listen to the music. The worst campground ever. Dont go there if your looking for a quiet place to relax . The owners are crooks.

This is a $45 campground masquerading a $90 campground. Pool down for maintenance though it looked like it was working to me. No internet, they said they would reset the router after I left. Aesthetics of the place are good and site are okay, but the place is no where near worth what they charge.

Well if you're like me and only look for the Good Sam rating, then sometime later you eventually find yourself here because you didnt understand the disconnect between the GS rating and your experience. I don't know how Good Sam can give this a 10-10-9 when location and appeal have to play into the rating. While convenient to Denver with easy access to the foothills and a launch to the mountains, the appeal is lacking. Very urban and has easy access to shopping but the site is noisy from traffic.... While on the subject of noise, the biker bar across the street with live bands is not so appealing at night, Fortunately, for us the music stopped at 9 for this bar. The one just a further bit up Colfax was still going at 9:15, This is Thursday night, so if I post an update, it's because the weekend was unbearable

We stayed here in 2020 and it was ok. Many reviews have mentioned the loud music and motorcycles across the street, which is an issue. There is also a restaurant/bar on the same side of the street to the west, and they also sometimes have loud music playing. Last year we were in space A16, which subjected us to the loud noise from both bars. This year we were in space M20, which is on the eastern edge of the campground and away from at least some of the noise. The spaces are too close for our taste... Read More

The spaces are too close for our taste and too narrow - our camper steps were above loose rock on a slope, and the space was too narrow to move the camper further to the side to safer footing. And you need to make sure you like your neighbors, which thankfully we did, as there is no privacy. See the photo of the campground map to get an idea. However, our biggest gripe is that the campground changed ownership and the new owners don't deserve our business. And this isn't just our opinion - we were camped across from a couple who have been coming here twice a year for several years, traveling from the east coast, and they said that they will not stay here again. As an example, last year we were allowed to take the camper off our truck. This is a bigger deal than some might realize, as it makes for safer ingress/egress, it makes the camper more stable, and it makes it much easier to get around town driving a truck without the camper loaded. This time, however, we were told that we absolutely could not take the camper off - that the owner didn't like the aesthetics. This is a bunch of hooey, as our camper is one year old, is a high-end model, and there were some older RVs needing maintenance in the campground that obviously belong to full-timers, and those aesthetics were much worse. There are other issues, like the showers and roads showing a lack of maintenance, but the staff (not ownership) were friendly. The location is good, but we won't stay here again. Ever. And we don't think truck campers (and many others) should stay here either.

We stayed here for four days, when booking we was advised that the pool was not open and that there was a Biker bar across the street that had live music until ten. The people that runs the place was very kind and helpful, this place was clean and the spaces was large enough to accommodate my 40' class A with my tow vehicle. We would stay here again.

I must say if you love loud music this is the place for you (there is a Biker Bar across the street) and they are loud. Then the pool is seasonal mind you we were there for July and it was closed. The Wifi sucks. The TV channels sucks get a wind and you won't see anything. I must say the lady that took care of me in the front desk was very pleasant. The good thing about this place is you are near the Red Rocks and Golden Downtown. That was the only thing I liked about it.

Crowded park in a noisy part of town. Well kept clean lots, nice clean bathrooms and showers. Swimming pool and hot tub were closed in July (?). WIFI did not work in the part of the park we were in. Had to email a picture of our trailer before they would let us in because of the age.

I'm not sure how this facility received such a high rating on Good Sams. The value for the money just isn't there. With our GS discount it was still $68/night and required a non-refundable deposit. There was no water in it when we arrived and no work being done on it during our 1 week stay. Also, there is a motorcycle bar directly across... Read More

When we checked in they clearly moved us and informed us for the first time that no site is promised. This is the second year they charge for an amenity they are not providing on Memorial Day Weekend. On their website even today it says they offer a pool. The word resort usually means a pool, expressly when you raise your prices to say to you have a pool on this weekend. I voiced my complaint with little to no resolve and to much eye rolling. I reserve the site because of the loud music and motor cycles all night. I don't know how anyone gets any sleep. After again expressing my concerns with being moved to an uneven site, and the noise. she was just as rude and had nothing. I told her we were leaving and she refused to credit me for the days we didn't not stay. I know they were able to rent that site again and made more money on something already rented. The new manager is very rude and nasty.

If you are there Thursday - Sunday you will also get to experience the impromptu motorcycle races on the road outside the gate that last as long as the music. The staff does not care if you are disturbed by the music or the constant revving of the engines, they describe the park as urban and in the city. The staff does not care about their customers. The owners lock out the computers so the staff cannot book you in before 1PM without charging you a $25 early arrival fee, that attitude encompasses the entire way the customers are treated.

We arrived on a Sunday and across the street at a bike shop was `live' loud music from 1pm to 10pm! Spaces were tight, no cable and literally `no'cable. They said to use my iphones hot spot. It was the most expensive camping rv place we stayed in. No refunds if you wanted to get out of there sooner (we booked 3 nights) would not recommend this to anyone. Only thing going for it is it is close to golden and Denver

The pail for the dog waste bags was not dumped all weekend, so was overflowing by the time Sunday morning rolled around. Just not impressed at all.

Very disappointed that when needing to use the restroom, we were in a pop-up with no bathroom, at 5pm one night the bathroom was still locked and the office was closed. Your policy of locking the bathrooms and shower area from 3:30-5:30 daily maybe needs to be modified to just an hour of closure. You really should have facilities available 24-7. Bathrooms were not serviced Saturday or Sunday and became very smelly and trash cans overflowing as well as shower stalls becoming nasty. On Saturday night there were three young boys in the hot tub close to 9pm? and one adult in the pool area. The pool states it closes at 8pm and no young people in the hot tub. You really should have security lock the gate at 8 and someone should be checking occasionally on the patrons. The trash can next to the pool and laundry facilities was full and overflowing by Sunday morning. The laundry facility takes quarters to operate and the change machine was out of order the 5 days of our visit. You really should have a back-up plan for patrons to get quarters. We usually stay in state parks, but thought we would try a "RV Resort" site. I think we will stick to the State Park sites in the future.

Let's start off by saying they charged us $25 because we arrived one hour early . It went downhill from there!! The biker bar across the street played VERY BAD LOUD LIVE MUSIC!! Loud Motorcycle traffic all weekend. The dog area was a JOKE, there's hardly any grass that isn't a part of someone else's lot. The walking area is a rattlesnake pit! The rules for this place a total JOKE! They got our money this time but NEVER AGAIN!!!!

We made a reservation over 2 months ago for a pull-through site. When we arrived today we were placed in a back-in site with a biker bar, road noise and road construction behind us. One of the worst sites we have ever experienced in our travels! We would strongly recommend that travelers specify that they do not want to be placed in sites A1 through A8 (all back-in sites).

We arrived yesterday and were directed to our site. The site was very out of level from side-to-side. The gravel around the site was strewn about and obviously not prepared for us. The asphalt was cracked and the edges were broken. We set our hydraulic levelers and found we needed to use a 6" block on one site to make the levelers work. We walked around the park and found several sites in the same condition. On our walk we noticed several sites were very difficult to enter. They were ramped... Read More

We walked around the park and found several sites in the same condition. On our walk we noticed several sites were very difficult to enter. They were ramped so steep a regular RV couldn't get in one way and has to go around and back in from the other side. My wife took her small dog out to find the dog run but all she found was a wood framed gravel area--which was falling apart and the screws were very exposed--and is was not enclosed. We had to walk in the TALL grass and a sign was posted BEWARE OF RATTLE SNAKES. We were expecting two guests to have dinner with us and we remembered there was a note in the park instructions stating GUESTS ARE WELCOME BUT ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK-IN AND PAY THE APPLICABLE RESORT FEE. This fee was $5.00 per person and $5.00 per vehicle. That is ridiculous. Also, the resort is near a bike bar and the motorcycle traffic is very loud most of the day and there is a dog boarding place across the street and the dogs bark outside most all the time. We thought they would offer cable but, no, there were no hook-ups for cable so, we hooked up our dish. You would think for the overpriced park they would take better care of their park and Really......they are over priced. Good Sam gave this site a good rating, I hope Good Sam will review their rating on this over stated park.

Memorial Weekend comes once a year, always the last Monday in May, marking the beginning of summer. Our family looks forward to it, planning at six months to a year in advance. We chose the park due to its positive reviews and its convenient location near our family and grandchildren. Unfortunately for us and every camper who stayed at the park, the "Premium Rate" week came complete with major renovations and construction noise. During our stay, the main office was having every window replaced, it's definitely memorable waking up to the sound of a Sawzall and hammering. The clubhouse facilities were unusable due to renovations. The pool and hot tub were closed while having the entire metal fencing replaced, even though the staff informed us that they would be open on Memorial Day. Topping that off, the grass surrounding each RV pad was ankle high, why wasn't it mowed PRIOR to the weekend? Given that Memorial Day comes every year at the same time, it is unfathomable that Dakota Ridge RV Resort management planned "major upgrades" during a "Premium Rate" week. Certainly, these repairs could have been scheduled and completed weeks before Memorial Weekend. On a positive note, the staff was friendly.

This RV park has little competition in this area, and their pricing reflects that - one of the most expensive parks we encountered in 3+ years of full-timing. We were visiting family in Golden, and this RV park was our only option. WIFI was good, but our site was right next to a booster. No cable which is surprising for a $70+ per night site. Relatively expensive laundry. Concrete pads, but ours was so unlevel, it maxed out our leveling jacks tires on one side in the air. On the plus side, the office... Read More

We thought this park was visually appealing but their cable is worthless - use your antenna- and the WiFi was barely operational. Our biggest complaint was the additional charges for a 2hr guest -$5 vehicle PLUS $5 per person. Really? $10 more for a brief visit ? It was an $80 evening. Definitely not a good value. Can't imagine we'll return.

So apparently someone got preferential treatment over us getting there early!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEN she had the nerve to charge us an extra $25 for getting there 30 minutes before check in (although by the time we settled the matter it was just 10 minutes early!) She refused to remove the early charge to compensate us for the errors THEY made! Go somewhere else if you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Facts: * Made reservations Dec 29 2017 for a one week stay June 29th to July 6th 2018 * was promised site 37 by the staff at the time * was given site 22, was told by the Manager this site is for 20 ft trailer, I have a 24 foot trailer which they knew about * Site 22 has what maintenance told me is an underground spring running through it * Manager would not give me a different site, she said none available * You get to view your neighbors sewer a few feet from your door * You have very little space outside, slopes down when you exit your door causing possible trip hazard * Site very unlevel, large down hill slope from front to back, making it hard to level. I needed to use their parking timber to even get close * Site had two warehouse pallets on ground right side to try to cover pooled water from running spring * Paid $68.00 a day for 7 days total $480.00 * You get to listen to forklifts and loud banging in the morning and afternoon because the park is behind a warehouse that runs 6 AM to 10 PM * Manager would not give a discount for the site and problems * WIFI worked well the majority of the time * Water pressure was good * They pick up your trash each morning Emotion: I have stayed at a lot of RV parks before. My experience with the management being able to solve a problem they created was horrible! I feel I paid a very high rate per night and was left feeling like all they care about was your money. I was offered a refund which someone in the park says they never do. The reason they did it for me I believe is with the 4th of July weekend they knew I would have to stay, which they were correct as everything else was booked within miles. When you make reservations 6 months in advance you do so to avoid situations like this. I was told when I got there by the manager, they don't guarantee sites, but yet in December they did. Not my fault. I thought I was the customer paying some of their bills, apparently not. They made their management issues my problem and I only wanted to vacation. They could have softened the blow of having to accept site 22 with a discount. It would have at least showed they cared, but they don't. Just get your money. A lot of this stuff I could deal with if they would have offered at least one of the options I presented, a discount or another site. That would have told me at least they cared. I'm not in the RV park business but am told a lot of parks always try to leave one site open to avoid this type of issue. Again very poor management. Know what your getting into if you decide to stay with them. Some others in the park I talked to were not happy. I paid a lot of money for a bad experience!

So over priced for what you get. For $70 a night, I expect a darn near perfect park. Uneven pads, narrow sites - once slide outs are out, you have no concrete to walk on. We ride so the biker bar across the street with live music and bikes ripping out of there was okay to us but I can see where it would be a problem for others noise wise. Each time I came back to the park they were full so I just squeezed in fron of my motorhome. Location is good but there is no breathe taking view of the Rockies. NO CABLE!!!!! When we are traveling we depend on local TV for weather and things to do in town, stores to visit. I understand we can get that through Google but for $70 a night, they should have cable. You cannot have your mail or packages sent here. I would recommend looking elsewhere and saving some money.

EXTREMELY expensive and they wanted to charge for everything they could nickel and dime you for. The supposed scenic views had the interstate on one side and a storage facility on the other. Unfortunately multiple other issues just not worth the trouble for short time parking just stay in the Walmart parking lot. Save your money and aggravation Rving should be fun this was not. Check out other Dakota reviews especially on Yelp I see many others had some of the same issues.

We stayed at Dakota Ridge for 14 nights after Labor Day in September of 2017. We were assigned site M20 when we arrived. We were escorted to the site, which was a nice touch. However, the site was surprisingly narrow. Fortunately, my husband is a pro at backing the trailer up. There was just enough room for the trailer and a picnic table that we had to move to the back of the site (that had an extreme drop-off). Our truck was then jimmied in across the few remaining feet at the opening of the site. What we immediately realized also is that the entire RV "resort" is adjacent to a manufacturing complex that operates from 6AM to 10PM Monday thru Friday and sometimes on the weekend. We awoke every day to an employee arriving for work with hip hop blasting at 5:55 AM. At 6:00 AM every day, the bay doors of the manufacturing facility were thrown open and the day's heavy construction began. Very loud noises all day long. Dakota Ridge RV "resort" has made no effort at all to provide any sort of mitigating sound barrier. You park right next to the noise. When we asked to move to another site, we were pleasantly told that they would check and get back to us the next day. We never heard a word. The receipt you get up front states in bold letters that they give no refunds - a clear red flag that we were not the first unhappy travelers. The roads at the "resort" are narrow and uneven with many old patches. Really the only positive comments I can provide are that the "resort" does provide a good location as far as proximity to shopping and dining, plus the laundry facility is clean. This park is overpriced for what you get - BY FAR!!!! We will never stay there again!!!!!

Our spot is like a postage stamp with a sewer view. We spoke to the office and she stated the park is old and there is nothing they can do about it. My thought is start working on your greed and maybe rent every other spot. Of course that would never happen because with business owners like this they are only concerned about the bottom dollar.

Ours is a Brand New, 2018 coach, and no need to work on the coach! But RULES, RULES, RULES! There are signs EVERYWHERE! Do this and don't do that. Traveling in @roadsongairsteam and learned the hard way about Dakota Ridge RV Park. Good Sam Club has them rated 10/10/9 and their location is great. How bad could it be? Very very tight spaces, ski ramp approach to our site, no cable tv, no recycling, no ice, dumpster locked after 10:00 am, sketchy wifi, road noise, and then there is the bad news: constant sewer gas odor. I'm outta here.

On the downside, the interior roads are quite narrow and congested because the sites are pretty short. All interior roads are blacktop and sites are concrete but narrow. Sites are not real close together, but there is not a lot of "elbow room". Based on all this, I think it is a bit of a stretch to call this a resort, but it is a nice place to stay and out of the city. Price seems a bit high but it is a metropolitan area.

5 gallons of RV's crammed into a 3 gallon bucket. To arrive or depart will most likely require numerous neighbors to participate as their trucks/autos/RVs create obstacles (just hope they are available and not away or asleep!). One side of the park appears to border a landfill while the other is only feet from a very busy street (HEAVY weekend traffic fairly constant until well after midnight). Staff friendly but beware!

Our site was small - all the sites are narrow and short - which is why cars and rigs extend into the roadways. The site itself was a nice level slab - but there's grass on either side and there's almost a ditch and big step down from the slab to the grass if you want to walk around. Because everything is so tight, getting our coach into the site at the right angle was impossible. We tow a car and it's just about sticking out on one corner - we didn't have a choice of pulling up more as even with two joined sewer hoses we would not have been able to reach the dump pipe had we moved up. Water and electric connections work fine but are old. There's soft mud/spongy filling in the ditch in a small area of the concrete pad which I suppose is to facilitate walking but its spongy and prevents putting a step-stool down - so getting into/out of the rig isn't all that easy. These fillings also track dirt wherever you walk. We didn't bother to level our coach as the pads are pretty level - and if we did I don't think I'd be able to get in/out without climbing on handrails. There are signs all over to clean up after your dog - but there are few garbage receptacles; I walked to the office to find one, which was full and I had to stuff a poop bag in. The pictures of Dakota Ridge are lovely, but clearly taken when the park wasn't nearly filled - during our stay it seems packed. This is one of those cramped parks where if you put your arm out a window you'd come very close to touching your neighbor. Haven't met any staff - our paperwork said to be sure to check in tmw morning by 10 - however I am expecting them to be overpriced for what's at best mediocre accommodations. We would likely not stay here again. Have no idea how Good Sam rated this camp ground so highly.

As a result we had no option but to stay at the site with no water. I suggested to the manager that he at least offer some small discount due to the error and no water and he refused, again stating we could leave. Horrible customer service. Apart from this huge issue, the park physically was acceptable. They offer cement pads although ours was far from level. Our was a pull-though site of sufficient length and offered a picnic table. Spacing was about 10 ft apart with grass yards between. The advertised wifi did not reach our trailer. Overall this is not the experience I expected from a Good Sam's listed Campground. I would never stay here again.

The sites are short by today's standards, so many RVs extend into the street, and vehicles park extended into the street, to the extent that big rig manuvering can be a challenge. Reservations require a 50% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. Holiday weekends require a three day minmum at an escalated $70/day. Your guests are charged $5/vehicle plus $5/person -- even for a few minutes visit. And, if not paid, the park's golf cart police will rudely insist on them leaving immediately. Also, fines abound. Our family have used this park for many years -- going back to when it was the Scenic Rock Campground. The draconian customer treatment has been instituted over the past three years. We will no longer use Dakota Ridge. There are better alternatives.

We travel full time in a 45 foot coach and have been traveling from 2008. So, in other words, A LOT. I mention this so you know we have things to compare to. WE HAVE NO IDEA on how this park gets good reviews. The park is rated as a Big Rig park. While we did fit, it truly is NOT setup to handle large rigs. Few sites fit a 45 foot coach here and the pads just fit the coach and you step out on rocks if you do not twist an angle on the concrete. The site they gave us, a "PULL THROUGH" which... Read More

The site they gave us, a "PULL THROUGH" which we can not pull out of as we would not be able to make the turn as they have a light poll in the way and the site in front of you is too close as the road is too narrow. As such, this pull through site needs to be backed out of. We made mention of this to them and the answer was that they have few sites that will fit. We did tell them that the site they put us in, while we did fit, we could not pull out of and need to back out. We asked for a back in site, which is less expensive, and they said we would not fit. So not only do we still need to back out of a pull through, we needed to pay the higher price. The site is not level, a number of them are not, and we could not use our jacks and needed to air level, good thing we have that option, as the site is so off, the jack leveling system said NO WAY! Then you have the sewer line that goes UP HILL! Yes, depending on which way you are parked, your line may be UP HILL and thus becomes an issue when it comes time to put things away as there is no way to empty the tube before you disconnect. The sites also share a common area. So your door is facing the door of your neighbor. So you have no private area. In fact, we can not even use the picnic table as it is at about a 20 degree due to tree roots. And that tree is so close and over grown that we can not use the awnings. Ok, water pressure...They have good static pressure. Note what I said...Static. When it is OFF the press build up to about 60 Psi, however when you open it, it is good for about 3 seconds and then it drops to about 30 Psi. We have to use our water pump. Note...They also will not even accept deliveries. So be sure you do not need that. Office Staff was very nice. They felt bad but could not really do anything. We did let them know that it would be good to NOT put a 45 foot coach in that site in the future. Wi-Fi uses Ubnt commercial gear with Wireless bridges and then AP's off of that. (Which is right.) The bad part, too many bridges with only on one master AP they connect to. They seem to limit speed to 3Mbps down and .5 up. The down speed works well (at least right now) but they could up the upload speed to even 1 Mbps. 3 Mbps is enough for surfing and email and is how a park should be setup. (Seeing I do these, I do agree with how it was done except for the single master bridge AP.) We stayed late October and at this time it costed us $61 a night!!!! Too much for what the park is. But I guess you pay for the location and not now nice the park could be. Would would leave if we could, but there is NO REFUNDS and also they take 50% on booking that is not refundable. Glad we only booked 3 nights, but that is 3 nights too long. YOU WILL BE MUCH BETTER OFF IN A STATE PARK. (Sigh, nothing close to the area.)

Clean park, friendly, helpful staff. We didn't use the restrooms or the laundry so I can't say anything about them. Sites were a bit smaller than we would have liked, but not uncomfortable. We never did get the wifi to work, but we didn't really need it so we didn't ask for help so that's not the park's fault. Liked the trash pickup service, that's helpful. The only 'complaint' would be the bar to the west with a loud band at night. But we couldn't hear it inside the RV so it was not a problem... Read More

Spaces are very close together side by side and the path to your space is narrow. Parking your vehicle can be difficult. During the weekend the site is relatively quiet with the exception of barking dogs outside of the park. Monday a.m. the industrial noise was incredible. Large semi-trucks backing up, honking, and unloading. On Monday, the day we were scheduled to check out by 11 a.m., we received a call about a family emergency. We decided I would stay in Boulder and my husband would return to Texas with the trailer. Because of the traffic issue and the fact he would have to take me to a residential area I went to the office to ask if we could have leeway with checkout time so he could leave the trailer, take me to Boulder, and then return to hook-up and pull out. I was told that if the trailer was not out by twelve it would be towed and it would be $25 dollars extra without exception. I admit I was very upset by the emergency at the time but I do understand the way businesses run. I would have gladly paid the $25 dollars but the callous approach left us both with a very bad taste. While hooking up the gentlemen in the golf ?carts came by and ask us if we were leaving (we were disconnecting utilities), and circled around twice more before we could pullout. The park is expensive $158.00/3 nights. It is called a resort, but does not have the amenities of a resort. It is good for an overnight stay when you have places to go. It is always full due to the lack of RV parks in the area therefor they don't need your business and it shows.

We have been staying here since 2002 and without a doubt some spots are better than others, and some spots cater to specific RVs better than others. This is true of most campgrounds. This year our spot was horrible with our rear entry as the last step was nearly impossible to navigate and we can't use a step stool with our dog. However, the site was plenty long and level and had plenty of room for our 36' triple slide Cougar 5th wheel. We've had better sites here, but didn't get our reservations... Read More

We've had better sites here, but didn't get our reservations in early enough to get the one we wanted! Anyone with a mid entry door would have been fine on this site and we are used to dealing with step height issues with our rear entry. The staff has always been friendly and courteous to us. There were plenty of local channels available and we bring our own Wifi as campgrounds often have limited or marginal access. It is one of the highest priced places we stay at each year but it's close and convenient to everywhere we want to be in the area. We will definitely be staying here in the future and would recommend this RV park to others.

We, in turn, had to pay other places with pools such as rec centers and other facilities all while still paying Dakota Ridge for their daily fee. Very disappointed we didn't receive a refund and owners are not willing to resolve issues. Would never stay there again as they ruined our vacation!!

It is very OVER priced. Almost $75.00 a night for a back in space, super odd staff that spends most of your check in time telling you what yon CANNOT do. After we paid they told us everything in the park that was shut down, didn't work or under repair. It seems that front desk thinks this is the greatest place EVER, however it is a average RV park with average service and average hook ups. The ONLY thing that is above average is the price.

The land there is on the side/bottom of a small hill, so the campsites are not as level as we may have liked. With leveling blocks and such, we were able to nestle in pretty well. The restrooms were decent but the showers were cold, not something you want to experience when there is snow on the ground outside.... Read More

Next morning, 8am, we went to check in and we asked for another night because we wanted to go to Rocky Mountain NP that day so we definitely needed another night. The park IS an hour and a half away and lots of traffic in Estes Park. We didn't wanna tote our trailer up there to a campground, we were close to burnout towing for two weeks through mountains. They weren't sure if it was possible but the gentleman who helped us really worked the system and got it all worked out for us. We had to wait for him to call us to let us know if we could stay so it was enough time for breakfast and by 9:00am he called and said we could stay on the site we had. He knew we wanted to get to the park soon, as he knew the distance we would be driving. We would've moved if we had to but he worked it out for us to stay in that spot. We were on with our day from that point forward. The staff at Dakota were all very friendly with smiles on their faces, it was a pleasure to meet them. Our site was good, it's totally what we needed but there was kind of a construction business right behind us and they started work about 8am and didn't stop until about 10pm. It wasn't overly loud or anything and there is brush and trees between us and them but they do keep their radio on and you can hear them talking and fussing at each other. Not that big of a deal but I'd stay on another row and have no view of them at all, if you're the type to make reservations. The bathroom was very nice and comfortable for showering. My son enjoyed the pool one evening. The whole campground was nice and clean. It was a short stay but we enjoyed it. I thought it was the perfect, last minute ending to our two and a half week trip and Dakota helped us out! I would stay here again to go to RMNP.
