“Seasonal, small, basic, rustic, park” We stayed 1 night while traveling through the area. This was our first visit (and last). The park is right off US-97 requiring turns off and on the busy highway. The check-in time of 1 PM is strictly applied with penalty imposed for early arrival by the hour. It is located in rural setting with very little services around. There was an escort to the site. The interior roads are gravel/dirt. They are narrow with obstacles encroachment (parked vehicles... They are narrow with obstacles encroachment (parked vehicles & trees) & tight turns making maneuvering larger RV’s a little challenging. Saw several larger Class A motorhomes in the park. The site pattern could be described as being several ‘U’ shaped sections. This park was built on a slight slope with little or no effort to level the parking pads. There are some sites farther from the highway that are a little flatter and level but the others seemed to have a bi-direction slope. Site 24 had both a bi-directional slope and a swale making getting level difficult. They have full hook ups – water, electricity (50/30/20 AMP), & sewer. Warning that water pressure is over 70 lbs with a recommendation to use a pressure reducer. The utility connections were spread out along the middle of the sites. The sewer connection was at ground level making it easier to establish a downhill flow depending on discharge point. Sites have an outside table but no firepit or grill as open fires are prohibited. Site orientation is sporadic throughout the park so it is difficult to predict RV’s casting shade onto the patio side. There is a mixture of back-ins, P/T’s and tent sites. Some of P/T sites were long enough to say connected to a toad. The RV sites are narrow & there isn’t much distance between the sites but there was sufficient room to open slides with the exception of tree encroachment at our site. The parking pads are gravel. There is no hard surface patio, very little grass and mostly dirt to step out onto. Saw some tunneling critter activity. A lot of tall pine trees around the park impacting satellite reception depending upon site assignment and equipment configuration. Was able to get DISH programming with a portable mobile dish sitting on the ground. Park brochure listed 37 channels (12 digital and 25 analog) through cable service which included the 4 major networks (out of the Medford area). The picture quality varied between the channels. The park brochure made no mention of Over-the-air broadcast channels. Didn’t try an OTA scan. Tried the park provided password protected WiFi. It was slow using a tablet to access weather information. Information provided at check in lists the download speed at 3060 Kbps, upload speed at 1020 Kbps and Byte quota at 500 Mbytes. There was additional service available for a fee. Didn’t try our Winegard Air 360+ hotspot or NET10 phone so don’t know about cell phone reception. One designated pet area with a little grass that was tall making it difficult to see what was on the ground. Didn’t see any bag dispensers and collection stations for waste around the park other than at the pet area. There was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park’s roads but it was pretty dusty. Didn't use the restrooms but had to enter a rating. Not fair to the park. Will adjust our route to avoid this park in the future. TIP: Open April 1 to November 15. Not much civilization around so bring whatever you will need.

We can't say enough good things about this park. It is family-run, and the pride in their business really shows. All of the showers, restrooms and laundry room were sparkling clean all the time and the community trash cans were emptied daily. All the spaces are pull-through and roomy with lots of trees. They went out of their way to accommodate us when we unexpectedly needed to extend our stay. Another nice feature is a number of easy trails adjacent to the property that are available to walkers,... Extremely nice hosts. Park is in expansion and improvements are being made. Big rig friendly. Gravel roads and camping spots. Some spots are more in the open, some in the trees. Clean, spots away from highway are going to be more quite but we did not notice noise as travel cuts down after dark.

Stayed in site 18, all gravel sites. The site area we were in were spread out like fingers, all drive through, somewhat private and very long. Our site was probably ~60' long as we disconnected our 32' travel trailer and pulled the truck forward several feet with room to spare. Site was level, Wifi was great and had lots cable tv channels to pick from. Only went to front restroom/shower, only 2 private rooms with toilet/sink/shower but immaculate. Even had a living room area when you walked into... Read More

I stayed in one of the pull through spaces directly behind the office. I arrived late during a rain storm and didn't use any of the facilities. The pull through was long enough to accommodate 35' and toad - gravel/dirt but not too level. My air level system couldn't quite level my rig and unfortunately I got to discover a leaking slide seal. Put a damper on the stay. I noticed the pull trailer parked next to me had removed all of the interior paneling of their rig and stacked it behind the... Read More

I used the dog area and it was rather nice with clean green grass for the furry one. I think this park has the potential to be a wooded "camping" experience but unfortunately the weather got in the way. The dirt environment and all the pine needles did make quite a mess inside with all the rain. Rustic.

First this is probably the nicest campground in La pine, Or. The staff are friendly, and it is fairly quiet for being so close to the highway. That being said, being the best in town is not saying much, and the campground is lacking attention to detail. The tiny pet walk area had gallon storage bags as pet waste bags. It would probably be cheaper to install a post with an actual pet waste bag dispenser and it would look more professional. The campground is in the middle of expanding which will... Read More

It would probably be cheaper to install a post with an actual pet waste bag dispenser and it would look more professional. The campground is in the middle of expanding which will more than double its size. The new spaces will be close together but not unreasonable. I hope they will pay more attention to details and install more bathrooms. They have 2 restroom buildings serving the entire campground. One has one female stall and one male stall. The other is a single stall shared by everyone. We found the men's shower to be dirty and poorly maintained, the women's was okay. The laundry facility is in a separate building at the very front of the campground facing the street. It was in good shape, but is kept locked and you have to ask for the building to be unlocked to use it. Good luck finding this place at night. The sign is completely dark, and it is easy to drive right on by. The only visible lights are in the laundry facility. With attention to detail this could be a good campground. Pave the main roads, add restroom facilities, light the sign, improve the dog run. The other parks in town look pretty junky. Instead of settling for being just a bit better, go all out and make this a quality park.

Spent one night on the way to Reno, wish I could have stayed longer due to other concerns. The park residents were very friendly, the owners were very helpful, the park is very clean I was surprised about the road nose, hardly any. next trip to Reno I will definitely stay here again.

Great park, The owner is very friendly and takes great pride in the park. It is clean, well laid out, the restrooms and showers were very clean. It is off the 97, but the traffic noise was not too loud. We would stay here again.

We stayed at Big Pines as a layover to Sisters because we arrived during the big Rodeo in Sisters, and there was no where to stay. We are glad we did! Overall a nice park that is well maintained with lots of, you know, big pines. The owner was seen every day attending to some landscaping detail or another. He is also very congenial. The sites are oddly placed which is actually an attribute as it enables more privacy. Our site was gravel, very long and easily made a temporary home for our 45 foot... Read More

The sites are oddly placed which is actually an attribute as it enables more privacy. Our site was gravel, very long and easily made a temporary home for our 45 foot motorhome. We had a nice big "yard" with a picnic table and fire pit. We were also able to hang a newly purchased hammock between two trees :) The only dings are the inconsistent WII FI (in our spot anyway) and the noise from US 97. We would stay here again.

Beautiful park, clean, very friendly and helpful. We were staying only 3 days but extended it to 5 days. We weren't in the laundry so can't judge on it but if it was anything like the rest it should be great too. We will be back!
