This was our very first weekend after purchasing the 2017 Coachman Concord. We wanted to get used to the equipment and thought something close with full hookups would be perfect so being Good Sam members, chose this park. The customer service here is fantastic. We were assigned a spot that was just covered with bugs due to the moistness of the grass that you had to park on. We could not get our motorcoach to level due to the ground giving way so I went back up to the desk and asked if it would... Read More

The customer service here is fantastic. We were assigned a spot that was just covered with bugs due to the moistness of the grass that you had to park on. We could not get our motorcoach to level due to the ground giving way so I went back up to the desk and asked if it would be possible to get another site due to the mosquitoes and the uneven ground. She showed us several available sites that were on gravel that were available and let us choose which one we wanted.
That made a huge difference. No more bugs nor mosquitoes as we were away from the swampy area. Facilities are alright. Bathrooms were not dirty but not clean either. The little store has a lot of stuff and its close enough to small towns for convenience. We needed to work on a few things we found and staff loaned us tools so we could fix them.
We would definitely stay there again however would request the area that we got after we moved for sure. Nice people, easy to find, and the restaurant serves decent food for a decent price with friendly servers. Has a bar as well.

So the park is okay, not amazing nor horrible. It is mostly well maintained though the muddy sites are a major issue. The maintenance staff is outstanding but management...oh boy. Thebmanager's wife is rude, condescending and not at all a nice person. Also, the rules of the park are only good if you are not friends of management. For example, dogs on leash was screamed at us by the wife yet their friend'a dogs were allowed to play free of leashes. Also, the one car rule at the sites did not... Read More

Then the permanent type stuff on sites..., just poorly managed park overall. I recommend this place if you don't care about mud in your trailer and you are okay with selective rule enforcement.

We camped at Sugar Barge from October 7th thru October 12th in space #52. There were some long term campers directly across the street. They routinely parked their vehicles in our area. I finally complained to the office. That vehicle did move. The very next night some of my fishing equipment was taken from my cart that was outside our RV. I noticed the missing equipment the day before we left. I sent an email to Sugar Barge Resort but have not heard from them at all. Although we enjoyed the fishing... Read More

Not a great experience at this campground. We booked for 3 nights and left after only one night. 1. Our campsite was awful. Most of the park appeared to have nice manicured grass with plenty of room. Ours was located next to the long term storage site with a dry dock immediately behind our site. We were greeted with the workers in the dry dock moving large pieces of metal and dropping them on the ground along with power equipment being used. Our site was gravel with weeds. If there had been grass, it was long since dead. Pretty sad for the price.
2. Office staff seemed friendly. I note that someone in the office did have priority over a caller on the phone.
I should note that when we made reservations, almost half of the sites were available according to their booking site. I find amazing that we were deligated to this site even with a multiple weeks notice. I assume that this was due to some sort of get together by a group that sent us to this location.
We have no comment on the pool or other amenities as we chose not to use them or they were not available.

Nice park overall. Friendly staff. Nice big grass sites. A little noisy but we enjoyed our stay
I stayed here a total of 9 nights that included 2 weekends. Nice park, lot's of potential, Helpful, polite staff. If you want a park where you can start your vehicles (diesels) at 4:30 in the morning to go fishing or stay up to 1:30 in the morning with large crowd of people being loud, great park for that. If you expect the quiet hours of 10 pm to 8 am to be enforced, you might be disappointed. There is ample security visible throughout the day but seemingly gone at night. Mid-week it was a lot...
