We recently stayed at KOA Journey in San Cruces, New Mexico. To be honest, we were primarily looking for a place to check in and do laundry, as we usually enjoy state parks for their trees and more spacious sites—at least the ones we’ve stayed at. When booking, this location was perfect for us: easy to drive in and just outside of town, which is where we prefer to stay. As we pulled up the driveway, we were pleasantly surprised by the tasteful Christmas lights and decorations, which created a warm,... Read More

When booking, this location was perfect for us: easy to drive in and just outside of town, which is where we prefer to stay. As we pulled up the driveway, we were pleasantly surprised by the tasteful Christmas lights and decorations, which created a warm, festive atmosphere.
We arrived slightly early, and with rain on the way, the staff kindly allowed us to check in. This was greatly appreciated, as it began pouring heavily shortly after we finished setting up.
The receptionist, Margarite, and the other staff members were incredibly kind and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. We stayed at site 105, a larger site with a great view and convenient access to the facilities, including the laundry.
We were thrilled to find a patch of grass that was lush and perfectly green for our fur children to enjoy. It’s not often we find such well-maintained areas for pets while traveling. The care and pride they take in the property truly shows.
Although we initially booked for two nights, we quickly grew to appreciate the space and cleanliness of the property. On the second day, we decided to extend our stay to four nights. We enjoyed it so much that our next stop was another KOA, where we decided to join as members. We should have joined during this stay, as they truly made us feel so comfortable—it was the best KOA experience we’ve had yet!
Our two previous KOA stays had excellent staff, but the sites didn’t quite meet our expectations. This location, however, was a pleasant surprise. A special shoutout to Javier, the groundskeeper, who takes immense pride in his work. His attention to detail at each site and his friendly personality made our visit even better.
Thank you for your hospitality—it was definitely a 5-star experience!

The KOA reservation system is very efficient. We have found this to be very consistent when we stay at their parks. It is especially appreciated after a long day of driving when we just want to park and relax. Check in is always friendly and quick. This park is on a bluff that overlooks Las Cruces. The sites are level with concrete runners on most sites. Entry into the site was easy and the utilities were convenient. It is stunning at night and the park is designed to give all of us a view.... It is a short drive to La Mesilla and we enjoyed our dinner at La Posta as always. There is a route from the park that bypasses the I-10 route. The coffee and pastries were appreciated the day we left. Only issue was the large dog in the eating area. The owner was busy making coffee and the dog was friendly, but off leash. I encourage the park to apply the rules to all patrons and dogs. My dog was watching from the outside, on her leash. We took turns going in the facility. It's what responsible pet owners do.

Very nice Journey level KOA on a hillside west of Las Cruces. Easy access to I-10. Nice views of city, clean attractive level sites at a good price. We would stay here again. Helpful staff. There is a car/RV rinsing area. One of the better Journey KOA's we've stayed at.
We stay here every trip East or South. This trip we stayed here going in November and returning in December. The park is very clean and well maintained. Has Pull through for overnight and back ins for long term. Site are level and easy in and out. The park has gravel roads very well groomed every day. It has a seasonal pool, clean rest rooms and laundry. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Park in situated on a quite hill with a view of the city. Located at the junction of I-10 and I-25, the Las Cruces KOA is situated directly on the winter snowbird migration route and the park, in an otherwise non-descript part of NM, was packed with northerners and Canadians towing and hauling everything they owned to Arizona for the season. Gravel roads, with fairly level concrete runners to park on at the sites which are very close together. Cable available. Nothing blocking satellite reception. Single bathhouse at the front office near the pool.... Read More

Desert views are spectacular.

Nice little campground that is big rig friendly. We stayed for a single night and had great interaction with the office staff. The sites are gravel and tight, but long enough on the pull through site for our 43' coach and our Jeep. The showers and bathrooms were nice and clean. The wifi worked (!!!!) and the location near the freeway was extremely convenient. See our full review and pictures of the site at our blog and thegilliamsisland.
KOA park just off I-10 on the western outskirts of Las Cruces. There are plenty of things to do in the city, but we made the drive to the White Sands National Monument and were not disappointed (definitely recommended). Overall the RV park is in good condition. There are drive-through sites in the middle and back-ins around the periphery. The park sits up on a hill overlooking Las Cruses, so the back-in sites facing that direction have beautiful view of the city lights. Everything is gravel,... Read More

Everything is gravel, but the sites have concrete strips under the wheels. During our stay, they groomed all the sites with rakes to keep it tidy. Sites are a little tight to the sides, but there are small picnic tables. There are washrooms, decent laundry, and pool (seasonal). Good WIFI and cable. Friendly management. Overall - good stopping point for travel along I-10. Would return.

Sites are gravel with two small concrete pads and so close together it is impossible to open the awning. No picnic table, no internet, poor TV reception. The trailer next us had several noisy children who turned off the water to our motorhome. The sewage hookup for the motorhome next to us was located very near to our entry door. Not worth the rate they charge. Next time through Las Cruces, Walmart will be better.
