Stayed there with my family and dogs on Labor day weekend and the lady at the front desk was very rude to us. They nickel and dime everything they could. You are not allowed to bring your own firewood so you had to buy it there and you had to have it delivered. If you ran out of wood after 8 pm you had to pay a fee to get it delivered. If you wanted to use the activities you had to pay $15 per day per person unless they did a weekend rate which was a little cheaper per day if bought it together.... Read More

They nickel and dime everything they could. You are not allowed to bring your own firewood so you had to buy it there and you had to have it delivered. If you ran out of wood after 8 pm you had to pay a fee to get it delivered. If you wanted to use the activities you had to pay $15 per day per person unless they did a weekend rate which was a little cheaper per day if bought it together. When we got there at about 7:30 pm we paid the weekend rate and paid for late check out as we planned on using it for the Labor Day weekend. When I had called it was explained that since we arrived they closed the water area down at 6 pm we wouldn’t count the Friday. When the weekend rate was offered to us with late check out we assumed that the amount we paid would have covered wristbands for Monday. We stayed until Monday and tried to use it Monday afternoon since we couldn't Friday and Saturday rainy and they weren’t open was told no so had to pay again because the rate we paid was for Friday – Sunday. When we asked why it was sold to us for a Friday rate after they closed she got rude and just reminded us we only paid for the late checkout. Since we were up there and already paid for the late check out we paid an additional day for Monday and went out to play in the water activities. When we got out there they were deflated. My wife went and asked and the lady was very rude to her and just said that we paid for a late checkout and until she explained a few times that we were just up there a few minutes ago and paid for wristbands. She then said they would come to take care of it.
The slide and dunking booth was nasty with dirty water. The water balloon war was only at certain times which was not told to us when we got there. The bumper boats were ok. The paddle boats you had to pay to use in addition to the wrist bands.
The site was very tight I couldn’t get my awning out because of trees on both sides with the slide-out. You shared water with the site next to you but you had to go under the camper to get to it for me. The sewage out of the ground was high, about 2 feet out the ground so made it to where nothing would easily drain.

Some people have complained about potholes in the roads. During our stay in July and August 2018, they graded the roads every week, so any that were there are gone now. Very friendly, lots to do, big lake, water toys, great for kids and families. We will return again next summer!
Large campground surrounding man-made lake. Beach and swimming area. Lots of activities for children and teens. Mainly back-ins, some pull-thrus. Has `packed-in' feeling. Single shower room for entire campground. Building is relatively new but lacks cleanliness. Just off interstate, but not a lot of highway noise. Roads dirt and gravel. Staff young with little adult supervision. Not very helpful. Some planned activities for holiday weekend.. Would not return.
Bring your ear plugs! The pull through sites are very narrow with barely enough room for a picnic table. They also are right next to a hill on the interstate with constant truck traffic. The roads and sites are limestone gravel so the whole bottom of the coach was covered with white mud. I know they can't help it if it rains but the empty site next to us was fairly dry while ours had mud holes. When I went to check in at 5:15 the office door was locked even though the hours were until 6. As I was... Read More

As I was walking around the porch looking for a note to tell us what site we were on, the door opened and the lady said she was trying to get some work done. So sorry to bother you after a long day of traveling.

I returned to this campground for a second stay since it was the right distance for the day's travel. Everything was fine except there was no WiFi at my site (A37). This was known before I arrived but I was not told about it until I questioned why. No consideration was offered for the disappointment.
Despite the GS ratings and the high premium price, this was a very disappointing park. The roads and pad were full of holes and very rough poorly maintained. The advertised Wi-Fi did not work. Only available by going to the office according to the staff worker. . As in other reviews, the noise was very loud due to being next to an interstate highway.
Very close to highway so noisy. Price for full hookup about $42. Pleasant people. Nice body of water, but too cold when we were there. Bathroom ok, but only one small one and far away from us. No fire rings in pull-throughs.
Interior roads.. awful.. nothing but pot holes..inner roads need total repair
This place is right by I-65, a major interstate to Chicago. Very busy, and very noisy. Don't plan on sleeping much. NO REFUND of money. They make you pay ahead, because they know once you get there, you wont want to stay. Couldn't get wood with late arrival.
We have camped here many times and have always enjoyed ourselves. Because it is right off a highway it can be a little noisy but the "A" sites are far enough away to be a bit quieter. The restroom and showers are well kept and offer softened water for your pleasure. They do not allow any wood to be brought in but they do sell firewood. They have a very good variety of activities including a beach for both kids and adults alike. They sometimes change their prices during the season so be aware of... Read More
