After a few misses we found a spot and turned in our site number to the office. Sadly we did not get a good grasp on where our site was so when we returned the first evening, it took us 45 minutes in pitch darkness to locate our rig. The sites are bundled, and if you fit, you can stay. We were thankful that we were not blocked in when we left at the end of our 5 day stay. We also wished they had at least cell service. When you get older, having connections for help is so important. It is a beautiful setting for a peaceful stay. , but not what we expected. The office staff was very helpful and kind.

My overall rating is one because there is no zero. In 36 years of camping, I would put this one on the bottom. If you like solitude this is fine because you can't find an internet connection, you can't find a TV station, you can't find telephone service and it's real tough to find a level site. I had my front wheels off the ground completely. They tell you to go find a site on your own then let them know where you are. 50 amp service is scarce. Watch out for potholes because they're everywhere.... Read More

If you come in via the Trace, you can't fit under the bridge but people have been going to the north side of the road in the dirt which will allow you to fit.

It is very evident that many have hit this bridge. We stayed at Natchez Wilderness Preserve during the Memorial Day weekend. We reserved for 7 nts. This is a first come pick your own site CG. There are no specific site assignments. Depending on what type of site you reserved they will circle it on the site map and send you on your way to find a site you like. The area is beautiful but the resort needs a lot of work. Once you get past the main road to the stop sign the roads are not in good shape. When we got to phase 2 the roads were even worse with much of the asphalt gone in areas. Out of the 500+ sites only 90 are full hookups. The rest are cabins, tent sites or 30amp with water. They do have 3 dump stations available. 1 in each phase and 1 on the entrance road. You will see lots of people hauling their honey wagons to the dump stations. Out of the 90 I would say 70 are permanent or seasonal sites leaving only about 20 available for others. Of the 20 available 5-8 are actually 50amp all the rest are 30amp service. Had I known the chances of getting a 50amp are very slim I would not have reserved. Even after the Memorial Day Holiday weekend there were no 50amp sites available. With temps in the mid 90's it was very hot at the site and in the motor home. Most all the shaded sites are occupied by permanent or seasonal rv's. The "beach" area did have available sites after the holiday but its dirt, no shade, no sewer and also 30amp. We have an all electric coach (no propane). Our stove will only work with 50amp service or generator. We could only run 1 AC with the 30amp service and couldn't run the generator during quiet hours. The temps were in the mid 90's during the day so we really needed to run more than 1 ac at night to keep cool. If this is what you like and/or expect it's ok. But if your arrive and expect or need to find 50amp service you will probably be disappointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is one of the Thousand Trail resorts that must have been beautiful in the 70's when it was built but today needs a lot of repairs and updating. We left after 2 nts.
