This RV Park is Good Sam and open to the public. It is also part of the group called Resorts of Distinction which we are part of along with being a member of Good Sam and AAA. Pahrump is growing at leaps and bounds. I used to do business in Pahrump 10 years ago and at that time it was beginning it's growth. It was a lot of open land with sagebrush, tumbleweeds and dust. A lot has changed in 10 years. This park is a nice little oasis in the desert. All of the facilities are very nice and clean.... Read More

All of the facilities are very nice and clean. The restrooms and showers are kept very clean and are well accommodated for handicap people. The laundry room and machines is one of the nicest I have seen. 3 washers, 3 dryers and a folding table. The pool is very nice. It is heated and has a retracting roof over it so it can be closed off from the elements if necessary. Yes, it can get quite cold in Pahrump. The hot tub is indoor and is very well maintained. They have a children's playground, horseshoe pit, bean bag toss and they also have daily activities anyone can join at the clubhouse like pinochle, poker, board games, crafting etc. All of the sites are gravel and fairly level. There are really only three drawbacks we could find with this park. 1) The sites are very close together. I heard our young neighbors one night at 3:00 a.m. and because the sites are set up to where you pull in with the nose of your rig facing one way and your next door neighbor pulls in with the nose stopping at the back end of your rig your cabin doors are on facing each other. This is great if there are two of you with rigs traveling together, but if you don't know your neighbor prior to you pulling in to your site or them pulling into theirs you will get to know them very quickly. The second was this park accepts long term RV'ers. By this I mean some are permanent. We have stayed in parks before who accept long term rigs. This can go one of two ways. The best way is the management of the park require those tenants to maintain the areas around their rigs and the condition of their rigs to some extent so they don't look dilapidated. The other way is that the management allows the long term tenants to trash the area around their trashy looking rig. I can tell you the first way is how this RV Park handles it. Yes, there are several long term rigs in sites all around this park, but they are well maintained and the condition of the rigs are mainly fading paint and decals from the sunlight in the desert. The third downside is the dust at this park. As we live in the desert ourselves we are used to it. I would like to recommend to the owners to consider investing in a water truck or trailer of some sort that disperses the water in a showering way across the roads as you drive around to help keep the dust down. Another thing that would help improve this park would be a grassy pet area. Again, we live in the desert and we put in dog designed astro turf with a sprinkler system surrounding it 5 years ago and it still looks brand new with 4 dogs using it. Right now their dog area is gravel with a lot of dust. Also, I don't recommend wearing sandals walking around the park at night with them on as we had a couple of scorpion guests a couple of nights as we were outside enjoying the warm evening. When it comes to shopping they have a Walmart Supercenter, Smith's Food and Drug, and Albertson's. They have Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Starbucks, and every fast food you could probably want. Oh, and this RV Park sits behind one casino and another one across the street from it. There are a couple of other RV parks in Pahrump. We went and checked them out and they are not well maintained. Even with the gravel, dust, close sites and occasional scorpion visitor this RV Park is by far the best one to stay at in Pahrump. You are also only a days drive from the easiest route in and out of Death Valley and a one hour drive from the Las Vegas Strip. There is a little something for everyone when you stay here.

We're delighted you chose Preferred RV Resort for your recent visit. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay as intended by our resort management and team members. The pull-thru sites are a little tight, especially for newer RV's which are wider and longer than the RV's that were the norm when the pull-thrus were added to the park. We are currently working on the dust issue. We started the process last year and are preparing to repeat it this summer. Your feedback is appreciated and used to... Read More

Constant improvement each year I return. The retractable pool cover is in operation. The spa has been totally redone including plumbing. The staff is the best in the state. The "Welcome Home" meal was fantastic, complete with in the ground overnight barbecued pork and beef. Do not miss the Hawaiian "Good Bye" barbecue, usually the last weekend of March. The new cook is doing a great job. The maintenance staff is superb. They have the grounds in beautiful condition. I love my home away from... Read More

Driving our new RV home from Phoenix. Wanted to be away from the Vegas rush and prices, so decided to go out of our way a bit and visit Pahrump. Used the Good Sam guide and picked Preferred. Easy access, a little tight with offset sites, but very friendly. Neighbors are very close. Did not feel we were downtown. Only real issue is gravel roads and dust. Would stay here again.
We are staying 5 days as a stopover on our way south. Although the spots are small, the staggered layout gives fairly good privacy. The dogs have made good use of the several adequate dog runs. The staff has been exceptionally friendly and helpful. We have met several other RVers who have been cheerful and nice. We had a great reasonably priced Turkey sandwich dinner at the club house and visited with the other table guests. The weekly activities are varied. We have enjoyed day trips with... Read More
