Very nice, very quiet campground. The sites were well laid out with plenty of room per camp site. Blacktopped roads and camping site pads with shade trees abound. Several very nice hiking trails of various lengths and intensity. We will definitely be back again.
This is one of Indiana's newest state parks and it shows in the campground. The sites are well maintained, restrooms and showers were almost spotless. We are planning to camp here again soon. Rose Island amusement park is adjacent to the park. This is an old turn of the century amusement park that was washed away in a flood in the early 1900's. Going through this with the tour guide is a fun activity. Don't expect to see much remaining though as it has been washed away in the flood and lots of the... Read More

Still a pretty cool tour. The park office and store is nice too. Short drive to lots of places to eat if you don't want to bring food to fix.

Stayed in a 42 ft. Class A with multiple dogs, for the 2018 Kentucky Derby. Called ahead to clear it with park rangers that the number of dogs was not a problem. Full hookups - good water pressure and electric. Most, if not all sites are back-ins. We highly recommend this campground. Some of the areas slope a bit so be cautious on which site you choose. The website for the park gives the option to view each site by its number so you have an idea of the grassy areas and whether there are overhanging... Read More

This State Park is huge, and beautifully maintained. The only noise was from adjacent campers, but if you are fortunate to camp during the week with few others, you will only hear the birds.

We came in the off-season so we had the park nearly to ourselves. The sites are spaced very nicely (no sardine spacing here) and are all very level. The park is well-maintained. The park ranger who helped us was very friendly and offered to give us tourist information for the area. You can't beat the pricing either, at $17.76/night we spent less here for 2 nights than we did at another campground on our way here for 1. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely stay again whenever we are... Read More

We really enjoyed our time at Charlestown State Park! It is very clean park! It had lovely hiking trails! Easy accessible camp sites, that have a large space per spot.... My kids enjoyed the sidewalks for bike riding! Clean shower house and bathrooms. We will definitely be coming back to Charlestown!
Great campground, clean modern facility's. Most sites are of a nice size. Quiet during the week but can get noisy on weekends. The Security staff is made up of 2 employees. One is a great young man. The other is a jerk. The park management is never around. I love the park, but since the management does not seem to like senior citizens, I'm looking to not go back.
