Not much on looks but this RV park is part of Comfort Inn so can use their pool, hot tub and fitness room. Sites level, park a little dusty but that's just the nature of the area---not a garden spot but functional and clean. Bathroom/showers were best we've encountered anywhere---managers of park should be commended on "doing it right" with showers!
We had a pull thru in the middle. The site accommodated our 43 ft fifth wheel and pickup. We unhooked but didn't need to. Our site was the only one with a downhill slope where your connections are. The others didn't have that problem. We were in site 14. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They held my package for me until we arrived. Shopping is an issue in Shelby. Only 1 store an Albertsons with high prices and not very big. So stock up. We would stay here again.
We were apprehensive after reading reviews but were pleasantly surprised. First off this is not a state park. It's a field overlooking a Comfort Inn and truck stop. But it's very very clean and well kept. Flat sites with brand new hookups. Laundry is brand new and works well (bring quarters). Showers are hot and very clean and even have heat lamps. So clean I thought about not wearing flip flops in them (but I did anyway). Our kids loved the indoor pool and hottub (and towels). There is highway... Read More

There is highway noise and trains but with the windows closed it was fine. I'm writing this while still here and my kids are bugging me to go back to the pool this morning. We ate dinner at Ringside Ribs which is just down the hill and it was good truck stop style food. If you are looking for nature you will not be pleased but if you are looking for a clean safe place to stay on your journey I don't think you'd be disappointed.

This place is attached to a hotel, which I never saw on their web site. It is unclear when you first get here where to check in. Had to ask another camper. Poor signs leading you to hotel offfice. Utilities work fine, even good wifi. Cable works but poor picture. Sites are gravel - our first one was not at all level, but next one was, and plenty large. Good for an over night stay, but not a place I'd want to stay in much longer. Good place to walk close by is Roadrunner trail around a lake. Read More

We found five campgrounds in Shelby and this one is the best. Convenient to highways and best price for diesel is the truck stop just north, on our way back to highway. Check-in is at Comfort Inn and they couldn't be more accommodating! Very nice people. Level gravel sites, both back-in and pull-thru. Good Verizon. Very good free wifi and cable! Shelby is a train town and I did hear one in the night. We camped at Shelby RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.
