We stayed at Anchor Down Rv Resort in November 2022. It was our first experience with this campground and what a wonderful experience it was. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the entire resort. Bath Houses are very well maintained and stylish. A little cold for swimming in the lake but was a very enjoyable view overlooking it at sunset. We will stay here again. Some firepits are a little to close to the campers for me but there are a lot of stone fireplaces throughout the camp.
Beautiful Facility. Office staff very professional. Outside staff very friendly and helpful. Most sites are back-in. Fire rings at sites. Many sites have fire places. Shower facilities were very nice. Lots of families with young kids in the park. Kids on bikes all over the place not paying attention to anyone else. In addition some parents were letting their underage children drive the golf carts. Had to pay extra attention. Dog park far away from the park itself. Would need to drive over... Read More

Top notch! Best place we have found for family vacation with grand kids. No will be be bored here. Beautiful setting over the top staff and facility.
Wonderful stay in every way! Absolutely amazing views! 10 out of 10 in every possible way! Only wish we could stay more often!
The Takeaway: A real gem located on the shores of Douglas Lake offering an award winning chef serving good in-house smoked BBQ. A modern, clean Class A rv resort with enough amenities to keep the attention span of a petulant child captivated. The private bathroom/shower rooms are well maintained and exceptionally clean. Good FHU and stable electrical. WiFi delivers broadband with HD streaming. Well laid out park site plan with memorable views of the Lake. All level concrete pads with upscale options... Read More

I died and went to campground heaven. There will never be another campground as nice as this one was. First of all, we had no plans to go to Tennessee. I discovered this campground online by mistake and we changed our plans just to go here. There was a cancellation and we got a spot overlooking Lake Douglas with the Smoky Mountains layered in the background and a private stone fireplace, not a fire ring, a fireplace. They have dozens of beautiful fireplaces throughout the campground, each one an original bit of stone art. They deliver big buckets of firewood to your campsite. They pick up your trash. You can walk down a paved path to a swimming beach which had tons of fun stuff for kids, water slides, trampolines etc. There was a gorgeous pool overlooking the lake, pontoon boats for rent which we did for a half day. The boat was new and beautiful and so much fun to go out on the lake. The laundry room was clean and all of the machines worked very well. There was a food truck by the pool area which had lunch items available for sale. The office staff couldn't do enough for you. They were the nicest campground staff I've ever encountered. They rent golf carts if you want one, which isn't a bad idea since it can be a lot of walking up an down hill depending on where your site is. The wifi worked very well the entire time we were there. We did not use the bathrooms so can't comment on those. The campsite is paved and level. The hookups were immaculate and worked perfectly. This place is getting very popular and lots of people were already booking their next year's stay while they were there. We will definitely return and stay longer next time.

This was our first stay here but we would definitely return. The sites were so well-maintained, paved, metal picnic tables & we got a site with a fireplace which was our favorite amenity. The view was so peaceful & the flowers were out in full bloom, even the birds seemed happy here with their singing! The staff was friendly, delivered firewood & picked up the trash every day from the curb of our site. We didn't use the restrooms but looked into them & liked how they were tiled, individual full-size... Read More

This is the nicest park we've stayed in. We've been here before. They have thought of everything, and the scenery is hard to beat. Even have good wifi! Not only have dog poop bags but places to put them.
Beautiful Location with great amenities. Highly recommend it for comfort and access to entertaining attractions and great scenery
We traveled to Camp with family from PA, we were amazed how beautiful the camp was, everyone was very helpful and friendly. What a Great view of Lake. We had a Great time and look forward to going back!
This was my second stay at Anchor Down. It is one of the nicest campgrounds I have had the pleasure to encounter. The staff is wonderful and eager to please. The sites are very-well maintained. Some have fireplaces. We have stayed on a site with a fireplace, but did not on this trip. It is a beautiful location, overlooking Douglass Lake. While it is a little pricey, it is worth the money to visit Anchor Down. We will be back!
Very nice campground. Looks like it had just recently opened. I only had two issues with the camp ground. The bath house was by the opening and not very accessible especially at night time. Campground is built on hill side and they leveled the camping spots . This provides great views but access to the pool and lake is by roadway only and you need walk to the end of the street and back down to access them. They Should of installed stairs and walk path that were more direct. They rent golf carts... Read More

We stayed at Anchor Down for 9 days. One of the finest campgrounds we have stayed in. Been camping for 30 years. Very friendly staff. Facilities are new and second to none in quality. Campground is laid out to maximize the beauty of Douglass Lake. Large, easy to back in sites. We will be going back!
This Camp Ground is one of the best we have been to. Everything is very clean and set up nicely. They have a great pool for the kids and a swimming area in the lake. We will be back.
