If you are a camper NOT PLANNING ON GOING TO THE AMUSEMENT PARK, do not go to this campground. I’m sure this campground is convenient for those wanting to visit the park but it is not a desirable location for all other campers. It’s basically a pasture type parking lot (no shade or trees) with water and electricity (no sewer). We have a fifth wheel and all spaces are pull through. However, there were at least 30 other spaces open and they parked a camper about 15 feet from ours and we were facing... Read More

I’m not sure why Good Sam’s has it listed as a 10 but they let us down on this one. I gave it a 2 because I’m sure the bathrooms are good from the other reviews.

With a honey wagon, this would have it all.
This is a great campground if you're going to Lake Compounce activity park, whatever that is, otherwise there are better choices. It a clean, neat, well run campground laid out very well. But as another reviewer described, mainly a parking lot. Certainly not a place to stay more than a few days. There's 56 RV spots and not a single spot with a sewer hookup, just electric and water. Moreover, there's NO DUMP IN THE CAMPGROUND at all. There's one on the road out but for the standard price, they need... Read More

You will have a tour of Ct that you don't need to see. Call their number and get their directions.

The campground is fairly new and the facilities and staff were friendly and helpful. Bear Creek had evening activities for children, shuttle to and from Lake Compounce, and really good water pressure. The comments I have are more recommendations for improvement rather than being negative.1. Garmin and Google do not get you to the park, you can see the campground but not how to get in the campground. 2. Signs for the campground are small, unlighted, and get lost with all the signs for... Lighting around the campground is not adequate for arrival after dark or being around the campground after dark. 4. No full hookups just a dump station that could be improved by adding better drainage and concrete.
For improvements I would recommend they add Pump Out service and entertainment for the folks that are not using the Lake Compounce. Something like Mini Golf, Scoop Ice Cream, or similar.

As we followed the GPS directions, we felt we were being taken to the wrong location; a vacant parking lot. However, off to the side, you see the campground sign and a road leading into the campground. Once inside the campground, it is like another world from where you just were. We barely made it before the store closed at 5pm to check-in. We were able to pick where we wanted to camp. The campsites are open and spacious. We barely made it before the store closed at 5pm to check-in. We were able to pick where we wanted to camp. The campsites are open and spacious. There are no trees, other than small trees/bushes planted in the median between the campsites. The campsite is very well maintained and peaceful. The bath house is very spacious and exceptionally clean. The shower stalls are large and they even have handicap showers. The store has a variety of items for campers to purchase and the staff is very friendly!

Great location if you like quick access to the water park; campsite is a big parking lot with little appeal.
Only negative is the campground is next to a closed landfill - not the prettiest scene. The amusement park was a lot of fun. No full hookups. Must use a dump station. The sites are nice and level but have no trees.
All facilities are new and excellent well-maintained condition. The campground offers all kinds of camping - RV/camper pull-through sites, tee-pees, small cabins, mini cabins, regular cabins. The only thing that isn't stellar is the RV/camper sites. There is not trees to provide shade and the roadway is pea gravel. We were still able to bike ride with our grandchildren. The like-new facilities more than compensates for the parking lot style RV sites. The campground is next door to an amusement... Read More
