One of the best stops we have made on our trip! It was a fluke that we ended up at Tropical Trails RV Resort as we need to leave a boon docking location for repairs. It's only a year old and has a little bit of maturing to do(the landscaping/trees) but it will be incredible in the future. The owners, Hill and Donelle are absolute wonderful hosts along with the whole staff. They all go above and beyond to make your stay the best possible experience. The owners, Hill and Donelle are absolute wonderful hosts along with the whole staff. They all go above and beyond to make your stay the best possible experience. A large facility(about 200 spaces) with great amenities! The spaces are huge pull through and back in with generous amounts of space between spots. They have a heated pool and hot tub, pickle ball courts with a group playing pick up games almost every morning. Shuffle board and plenty of area to ride bikes. A large lake that again once it's had time to mature will be incredible. The hosts are constantly arranging group functions to add to the experience of the Brownsville area. Trips guided to cross the border and visit Mexico, a shrimp boil, pickle ball tournament, Superbowl Party and many more activities. The location is outside Brownsville and a nice Tx plains location, within minutes of most anything you could need(HEB Grocery/Wal-Mart/restaurants/banks). It's also only about 30 mins from South Padre Island, a beautiful area to explore the beach and sand dunes, plus restaurants. It is going to be one of our intended return visit locations if we can get in, as once people discover it, we're afraid it will be so popular it will be difficult to find an opening available! If you want a great place to stop and relax, don't pass up Tropical Trails near Brownsville, Texas!

Check-in was a breeze. The lady in the front office was very nice, and told us everything we needed to know about the resort. The one thing I absolutely love about Tropical Trails (if I had to pick one) is that the spaces between sites are some of the largest I've seen. It's so refreshing not to be right on top of your neighbor, even if they are super nice (which ours were). Some of the other benefits that I thought were noteworthy: High Speed Internet (ethernet from the pedestal) was very... Read More

It's so refreshing not to be right on top of your neighbor, even if they are super nice (which ours were). Some of the other benefits that I thought were noteworthy: High Speed Internet (ethernet from the pedestal) was very fast (over 100mbit). No issues with multiple 4k stream, and/or Zoom/Teams calls. It's been an absolute joy to carry out my daily work without any network disruption. Cleanliness of the park is incredible, staff is more than welcoming and ready to address any needs. Gated access with PIN code entry is a plus, even though the area seems very nice, and somewhat remote. They provide you with a newer (and clean) picnic table and a nice covered fireplace (and wood!). If I had to find something negative to say it'd be that I wish there was more grass and less dirt between the sites. That said, it's a pretty new park, and I am sure they're working on that. Also, this is TX, not MN. I bet it's harder to get grass to grow due to lack of precip. They have planted a lot of palm (and other) trees, but they're still growing so there isn't much shade at the moment. There are train tracks on the north end of the resort, and we were very close (as close as you can be) to them. Train seems to roll through at about 1030pm every night, but you honestly don't even notice after the first night. We kept extending our stay by a few days here, a few days there as we didn't want to leave, but alas, people are finding this place, and we weren't able to keep our spot any longer. We're heading to FL very soon, but we'll definitely be back to Brownsville and we won't even consider another RV resort.

Great place. Brand new facility, the owner/builder did an outstanding job. Sites are spread out so you're not on top of each other. All concrete pads with plenty of room for a car. Office staff really nice and helpful. Close to all shopping and restaurants. Is one of the nicest parks we have been at. Sites have high speed fibre internet was like being at home actually better. Recommend highly if you down south in Texas. Brownsville is a nice town right on the border. Got to see the SpaceX... Read More

the facilities are very new and clean, the resort is a delight and all the members of the staff are outstanding, friendly, helpful beyond words (gives a new meaning to 'hospitality'). Highly recommended. I, myself, will be back.

Visited the new RV Resort in January. It is brand new and truly a luxury RV Resort. They have cottages that are fully furnished and so clean and peaceful. The weather in the winter is amazing! The resort grounds are pristine. They have palm trees planted and the grounds have either been seeded or grass laid. The owners have put everything into a new rv resort that you can expect. I feel that this is a true gem. I can't wait to visit this summer as it is down the road from South Padre.

Brand new resort, opened January 2020. Very nice large level concrete pads, smooth paved roads, lots of space between each spot. New and nice clean facilities and fun activities nearly everyday. Staff is super friendly and accommodating - one of the best campgrounds we have stayed at! PS- Call ahead for directions, the GPS is taking you too far past the resort.

Amazing, brand new, up-scale RV resort in the Rio Grande Valley just east of Brownsville. Liked it so much we changed our plans and stayed 2 months. We stayed in a super luxury site, one of their largest group of sites. These are 16 ft. wide by 90ft. long back-in or pull-in concrete pads built for large motorcoaches. There is at least 50 ft. between RV sites. There is a 175 sq. ft. concrete patio with picnic table and portable fire pit and a concrete apron for extra vehicle parking. Plenty... Read More

Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The amenities are resort style and very attractive. Quality activities! Staff and owners are very helpful and aim to please their guests. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that there is a train track behind the resort. We personally love trains and even their whistles, so after a night or so, either the train quit coming by or we stopped hearing it all together. (I only mention this because in Williams, AZ, the trains were something that affected a friend with a condition and he hadn't been informed of them before he stayed there).
