Great resort, very nice big pull thru sites and very accomodating staff. Their activity calendar is full of things to do, and their library is amazing. Very quiet and peaceful location, we will definitely make this one of our winter stops again.
Very nice location nestled in the middle of nowhere. Very clean park but if you travel with a pet (dog) go somewhere else. Not pet friendly, we took our dog for a walk and was approached by at least 5 people telling us that dogs could not be in "this area" and we asked about any signage, they couldn't tell us, just said no dog!
Desert Palms policy is to keep pet-owners and tenants without pets in separate parts of the Resort which results in happiness for both groups. Non-pet owners like freedom from pet toilet mistakes or loud animal noises. Pet owners like their own part of the Resort where they do not constantly get challenged for their pet's behavior. Pet owners do a good job of enforcing reasonable constraints on other pet owners and are more understanding of other pet behaviors which reduces conflict. Pet and non-pet areas are clearly marked on a site map available on both the Desert Palms website and at the check in counter of our office. Management is available to explain our approach and is likely to do a better job of explaining than querying another tenant about pet policy. There is a sign at every street that identifies the boundary where the pet area ends. Pet owners are concentrated near the wall on the south end of the resort which is a desirable high demand location with a waiting list for available sites. It is understandable that short-term tenants, who are in their own pet area, may not spend enough time here to learn the boundaries associated with the Desert Palms Pet Policy. Our pet policy works well and is heartily supported by our tenants.
