We enjoyed our 2 day stay at DD. The customer service is the best! The sight was beautiful. Nice pool and hot tub. Excellent deals.
Distant Drums RV Resort deserves a LOT of praise. To be fair, GoodSam needs to create a higher rating than 10/10/10 because DDRV is at least an 11/11/11. Am I exaggerating? I think not. I have researched all the RV parks in Northern Arizona and know well the overall quality of this amazing RV Resort. Management here is amazing and everyone who works here is smart, kind, generous, knowledgeable, helpful and very talented . . . definite candidates for your new best friends for life. As if that weren't enough, the amenities (store, community room, exercise room, showers, laundry, library, pool, jacuzzi, dog park, etc.) are very well-kept and a pleasure to use. The lanes in the RV Resort are wide and are enjoyed by people and dogs alike. While the landscaping and views of the mountains and skies are all tourist-magazine worthy, of special note is the stunning nighttime lighting that astonishes and delights all who enter here.

We stayed in a Tiffin Open Road Class A Motorhome with a group of other Tiffin owners. The person who escorted us to our site helped us back in and was extraordinarily efficient at providing backing instructions. If you are towing, you do have to drop your tow car at the entrance which makes parking the rig much more efficient and prevents blocking the roads. There is a large area at the entrance for dropping your toad and hooking it back up. The laundry was nice and in full use when I dropped in. The weight room had a lot of machines and free weights. Although we do not have a dog, the dog park was very nice with room to run and most people staying there had a dog or two. While there appear to be a few full timers (could be workers), they are on the outskirts closer to the freeway. No freeway noise was heard where we were parked. The pool was sparkling and had a handicapped machine for those who needed assistance to enter the pool. There is also a large hot tub. Although it was cold when we were there, numerous people used the hot tub and heated pool. The bathrooms/showers were also immaculate, each room was separate. The rec room had a kitchen with various appliances to use for a party. Some had a card game planned and a game table was set up. There was a ping pong table on the patio along with barbeque grills. There are CD movies to borrow, and a library (which I didn't see). As soon as one rig pulled out, someone was there cleaning the site (not that any needed cleaning). While out walking I saw absolutely nothing out of place or any trash on the ground. I even noticed an employee cutting a tree at 9:00 p.m. so a 5th wheel would not be scratched when opening a slide. Trash is picked up daily at your site. And there is a pull through propane station (similar to an RV spot) for filling propane. There is a shuttle which will take you to the casino across the freeway. There is a picnic table at each site, and all RV spaces are concrete.. Most are level, although there are a few pull throughs that are not as level. The only problem we experienced was someone walking through out site to get to their RV (some people are lazy and have no manners) which was unnecessary (and against the rules) since there was a landscaped walkway through every row to prevent this. This is not the RV Parks fault, and when advised, apologized and said they would address the issue. Without a doubt, this is one of the best RV parks we have stayed at, and we will visit again. It has clearly earned the 10 rating.

Nice, tidy, fairly new RV resort with nice helpful staff and shuttle service to the Cliff Castle Casino. We only stayed one evening and did not use any of their amenities, but we will be back!
This is my first stay. The park is laid out nice, My main concern was the parking. If I remember right the back in site I was in was listed a 42 feet.My RV is 39-40 ft. But AS I backed in to the place we could not use the full length because the trailer behind and to the side had backed in fully and then extended the awning out ( in the rear) - Which I was close to hitting. SO I extended over the front about 6- 10 inches. Your pull vehicle parks to the side of your trailer. Once parked and... Read More

stayed for a couple of days here, and loved the easy off/easy on the Interstate. Lots to do in the area, staff friendly and ideal location . . . very accommodating for Class A Motorcoach. We will definitely stay here again.
Made reservations in September 2017 for March 3-20, 2018. Received confirmation email from DDRV on Sept 14. Travelled all the way from Tennessee to spend our much awaited vacation at DDRV. Called them couple of days before our confirmed dates and was told that they had some kind of big rally going on and that they couldn't honor our reservations. Needless to say, we were stunned. They ruined our vacation. We're on our way home to Tennessee. I've heard other people say how rude the office staff is. We're very dissatisfied

Very nice park, would definitely stay here again. Level sites with plenty of room. Pleasant attentive staff and great pool. Lots to do and see within easy driving distance.
One of the cleanest RV Resorts we have had the opportunity to stay in. All the spaces have concrete pads are pretty level. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. Even though it is very close to I17 the traffic noise is minimal and/or unnoticeable. There are grassy areas for your pet and a doggy park.
Distant Drums RV Resort is a great park! It has easy access off I-17, yet you really don't hear the road. The sites are all concrete and spacious. We stayed in one of the pull-in sites that offered great sunset views and even some shade. This is definitely a park deserving of it's high ratings. Especially compared to most in Arizona.
My wife and I come here 3-4 times a year to escape some of the heat from Phoenix. Always friendly and the staff delivers more than expected. We had a hot water leak and the staff was more than helpful getting this fixed.
We had Verizon phone service and a T-Mobile hotspot and neither one worked to get on Internet. We also had no phone service to make calls. The Wi-Fi here at the park does not work at your camper. You can go to the lobby area until 5 PM and then you can go to the clubhouse area till 8 PM to get Internet. Not sure how they get a 10 as a rating across the board.
This is a fabulous RV park.. The park is very clean. The showers are military clean.. Lots of things to do in the area.. Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome, Prescott & there is a casino right across the freeway & the park has a shuttle so you don't even have to drive... The staff are excellent!! The sites are concert pads with picnic tables.. So are not so level so be prepared with blocks.. Very dog friendly has a nice dog park. Great kitchen area that all guest can use.. Spent an overnight, but would go back and stay longer! Facilities were exceptional, staff as friendly and helpful. Sites and entire grounds were immaculately maintained!
Distant Drums RV Resort is a 5-star resort when compared to other RV parks in and around the Sedona AZ area and other parks we've stayed at. It has paved streets, concrete pads, manicured grounds, and other amenities. However, I'd downgrade the 10-10-10 rating because the tile floors in the restrooms and showers did not appear to be cleaned on a regular basis, the hot tub was out of service, and the WiFi signal would occasionally become weak and drop you off-line. However, I'd downgrade the 10-10-10 rating because the tile floors in the restrooms and showers did not appear to be cleaned on a regular basis, the hot tub was out of service, and the WiFi signal would occasionally become weak and drop you off-line. The laundry uses a laundry credit card and, often times, the card readers on the washers and dryers do not accept the laundry credit card. To use the laundry, you must go to the office, have them load X dollars onto a laundry credit card like a credit card, then, insert the laundry credit card into the washer/dryer to clean your clothes. It is very frustrating to use. I recommend you talk to the office staff and have them explain to you how to correctly hold and insert the card while standing on your head in order to get the card reader to accept the card. If you have money left on the card, then, you have to go back to the office and they'll reimburse you the balance of money on the card that you didn't use. The office staff told me they have a contract out for bid to convert the laundry over to coin operated machines by July 2016. As a result of the above, I would rate this RV Park 10/9.5/9.5

Very nice park. They had someone showing us to our site and he made sure we were properly positioned and could set up easily. The park is close to 2 National Park Monuments, Tuzigoot and Montezuma Castle. Across the freeway is the Indian Casino this park is associated with. We had a very nice breakfast buffet. The only issue is that there is a gigantic neon sign pointing to the casino, and overlooking the park. It did not affect us as our site orientation had us so that there were no windows looking... RV Park did not have our reservation even though they sent us e-mail confirmation. Said sorry we don't have any place for you. Right hand didn't know what left was doing. Parking spotter went around camp and found site. Laundry card system was confusing and some machines did't work. No picnic table. Campground was nice.
We had two great, one night stays. Good location, (although you can hear the freeway at times, it's not far to Sedona), private room showers were clean and a nice surprise. The sites are right next to each other but paved, clean and easy to access. Once you check in, a staff member will jump in a golf cart and help you get into your site. They have propane filling and a nice little dog park. Would recommend.
It's all a matter of perspective and expectation. We expected and received: Easy access from freeway; free shuttle to casino; clean landscaping; litter pickup, site escort, warm pool, nice spa, dog park, large bathrooms; site lighting; What we didn't receive was: more pull-through sites (10 for the entire park); front office efficiency (no email reservation confirmations because of misspelling our name. Payment confusion as our credit card was mixed up with someone else's who had a name that began... Read More

Payment confusion as our credit card was mixed up with someone else's who had a name that began just like ours. When we wanted to extend our stay it took them 24 hours to get back to us and we were told we'd have to move 1 site away. No problem. Except the site we moved out of was never occupied after we moved,) All of the pull-in or back-in sites include a patio. If you tow a vehicle, which most motorhomes do, your towed vehicle has to park on the patio. The customer service aspect was the most frustrating. The "we're busy" excuse got old.

Stayed at this resort 2/28-3/2/2016. My overall rating is based on several facts: 1) the spaces are way too close together on the upper end of the park. Below the pool, they are much better. 2) the hot tub was not working, nor was the pool heated until after the hot tub was working, which was on the last day of out stay 3) the laundry room was totally unacceptable. Fifty percent of the washers and dryers were barely working (signs on them indicating light loads only) We did put one load of clothes... Read More

If you want to use a handicapped shower room, the office will have to be notified so they will keep one unlocked. The office staff were not friendly and had absolutely no knowledge of the surrounding area and no visitor information brochures that were helpful. We will not be returning to this resort.

This is a nice campground, but it has some problems. The sites are unlevel. We needed to put blocks under our front wheels, and noticed that most of the other RVs have blocks or wood under theirs. The laundry is very strange. You need to go to the office and get a card (similar to a credit card). You have them load as much money on it as you think you'll need. Then you insert that into a slot on the washer or dryer. There is no compartment for your detergent. You have to put it directly... Read More

Two of the washers and two of the dryers are for light loads only. There were no activities except for a pot luck on Thanksgiving, and they didn't post any notices about that. The only way I found out about it was when I went to the front desk to load money onto the card for the laundry. In the corner of the desk there was a sign-up sheet. I asked about it, and was told "Oh, yeah. We're going to have Thanksgiving dinner here in the activities room." We're not really happy with this park. Before we stay here again, we'll check to see if there is a nicer one near here.

We stayed 2 nights in a back in site. We used full hookups. Wifi was available and very good. The staff was very helpful and courteous including parking assistance and daily garbage pickup. A casino is nearby that offers free shuttle service as well as RV parking.
Love this park, entire staff is always fantastic and very accommodating. Great selection of sites to choose from. Lots of sites Big Rig friendly. Some pull-thru's however are set up for facing your fellow camper so if you plan to stay a few days make sure you will like your neighbor ;-) Large doggy park, my only request would be a some grass for the dogs instead of all gravel.
Distant Drums is a great RV park! All the staff here is amazing, and very helpful. There is a free shuttle that runs to and from the casino. The dog run is large, and the pool and grounds are well kept.
Absolutely marvelous RV Park. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and riding our motorcycle through some very beautiful country. Will definitely place this park in our "YES" column to visit again
We love this place. Any time we are heading north out of Phoenix we stay here if space is available. The Good Sam ratings of 10/10/10 are well deserved. Clean, very well kept, overlooking the Verde Valley. Large private bathroom/shower rooms.
We enjoyed our 2 day stay at DD. The customer service is the best! The sight was beautiful. Nice pool and hot tub. Excellent deals.
