Probably THE most well-maintained place we have stayed. We’ve traveled and stayed in 10 states, and this one literally had everything. It is a little out of the way, but only a 25 minute drive to Elizabeth City, NC. We will definitely be back. One note of caution: when the lady tells you not to leave food or trash outside because of the “wildlife”, BELIEVE HER. We saw two juvenile black bears within a mile or two of the campground. :)
Very clean and beautiful setting, very cordial and helpful staff. Loved the concrete patio and all the grass. No rough in' it here! Very relaxing setting.
My wife and I, along with 4 other couples in RV's, stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend. My wife and I arrived on 22 May, Wednesday. The campground was clean and well kept. We were welcomed at check-in and had a golf cart take us to our site and then he stayed to assist me while I backed into my site with my 34' toy hauler. We had site 33, it had a rear view of the pond, terrific to relax once we lowered the rear deck of the toy hauler. The site was level side-to-side and front to rear was... Read More

The site was level side-to-side and front to rear was a snap using the tongue jack.
In preparation for the upcoming holiday, we saw and talked with the staff... they were cutting the grass and ensuring all the dumpsters were empty. We found the staff very friendly and outgoing. They do not pick up trash from your site, you have to take it to the dumpster which is at the entrance of the campground not a big deal. I walked to the dumpster some days and on the hot days, I drove.
The cable TV was clear and had loads of channels. The Wi-Fi was a little slow or intermittent as the campground began to fill on Friday. In the evening, as the sun went down, the mosquitoes came out. We stayed outside every night until the sun went down and then went inside. As a precaution, bring bug spray.
There are bears in this area a friend of ours was arriving Friday evening and saw a small bear in the road as he was headed towards the entrance but it quickly ran into the woods. The campground, in my opinion, is a hidden Gem in southeast North Carolina. It is clean, quite, and well maintained.
If you are looking for a quite, clean, and well maintained campground, consider checking into North River Campground I think you'll like it.
Saturday afternoon, the campground had a bounce-house and water slide for the kids, it was a big hit. The campground has a small pool with a bath house. The restrooms were clean and well maintained.

My wife and I stayed two nights. The facilities were clean and well kept but old. There's a pond and the North River if you like fishing. It was nice and quite and everyone was friendly. They have special events each month such as Oyster Roasts and Pig Picking's. We will probably go back as we only live ten minutes away.
I was really surprise at how nice the campground was.Very well kept and I really like the campsite setup.I also like that they come out to help you get into you campsite.Heading back this weekend.
Very quiet, family friendly place tucked away from it all. A very nice family developed this campground and now their daughter and son-in-law own it. Sites are all level gravel pads with concrete patios. Bathrooms are always spotless, although a little small with only a couple of shower stalls per Men's and Women's. Most short term sites are around a 5 acre lake. Fishing is allowed, but there is a limit to how many can be kept. Small play area for kids and there is also a small pool. There... Read More

They have facilities for groups available for all types of functions. Regional boat launch to the North River is at the entrance to the park. It is state maintained and free.
We are regular visitors to this campground and always enjoy our stay. It is very quiet and relaxing. You may even see a bear or two in the fields.
The store is a little small, but offers the basics. (they do not sell alcohol). They also have pizza and wings by Hunt Brothers.

Facility kept really clean and maintained. Not much to do at the campground. Golf course needs to be updated. A lot of permanent residents. Have witnessed workers being rude to adults and children. Tried to speak with management about some issues and was treated horribly. Severly lacking in people skills.
We picked this campground because of its mainland location with access to the Outer Banks. Hosts are friendly and facilities are clean and modern. But the location is really too far from the Outer Banks to be practical for day trips there. It takes over an hour to get there from the campground, one-way. Otherwise, the campground is quite nice, but be aware that there are lots of mosquitoes as it is swamp territory.
We read the descriptions online and thought it would fit our needs. However, the actual facilities fall flat of their stated amenities and they refuse to refund if you want to leave. That's right - they hide in the fine print NO REFUNDS for any reason. First off, we know August in coastal Carolina is hot, but here is it just oppressive- trees surrounding the sites block any breeze and there is zero shade near the rv sites. The bathrooms have 1 stall, 2 showers and no ventilation or climate control- so in summer it's dangerously hot in there. There is one for the whole place and it's a hot sun-sweltering walk to get there no matter which site you are in.
The pool is slightly larger than a bath tub but has zero chairs or seating near it.
Forget fishing that 'stocked pond' because it's catch and release. And the 'swimming' side is the only part that's completely full of lilypads/algae.
They charge adult rates for kids over 12 and hide all their extra fees until you check it. Want a fire to roast marshmallows? You have to rent a firepit from them.
Their web cams are creepy- they didn't mention the complete invasion of privacy you will experience there. I'm not even sure it's legal for them to publish live feed them online like they do without disclosing that.
They are most interested in their profits over their customers well being. I'm disappointed that they are even included in Good Sam's directory and believe their ratings on here are very deceptive.

There was plenty of room between sites, the place was meticulously maintained and hosts were very friendly. There was a lovely little pond in the middle of all the campsites and lots of room for our dogs to wander. We would recommend and stay again.
This was a find! The campground seemed remote, yet I was minutes from Downtown Elizabeth City, NC. Beaches were a descent drive, maybe 45 minutes with some nice samplings of wine and brew house along the route. The 5 stars are for the campground itself. Its layout was so lovely,, and no RV/camper faced anothers Utilities. Someone really used their heads on Layout! The Owners are downhome friendly and helpful!
This is a number one stop on any trip North or south near the East coast! Lovely!

Highly recommend, clean, private, great facilities, easy in and out. We'll return
