We stayed at this park for 4 nights. The park is quiet and clean. We had site No. 5 and it is a great site with a nice view of the woods. The site came with a wood patio, a picnic table, two chairs and a fire ring. We stayed Sunday thru Wednesday and had no one on our driver’s side. Wednesday night it started to fill up and the golf carts started driving around stirring up dust. The park did not have cable TV and we could only receive 5 over the air TV channels, and they were spotty at best, no... Read More

The park did not have cable TV and we could only receive 5 over the air TV channels, and they were spotty at best, no real TV at this park. We could not find a laundry on the map provided and did not see one within the park, if they have one we could not find it. Also no pool at this park, but the park is 2 miles from Lake Summersville. They do have internet you can pay for and they also have a lighthouse onsite with an optional paid tour. They had a real nice dog park with poop bags provided and the staff was extremely friendly. To us this is a 9 or 9.5 park. We would stay here again and would recommend this park.

Did not user restrooms or showers but they appeared in good repair. Campground is super easy access to HWY 19. Beautiful views of Summersville Lake. Sites are not wooded but it does not feel like you are camping in a field even though you are. Nice walking trails. Cabins available as well. Owners/hosts were super friendly and helpful. Stayed here as a one night stop over on way to PA from NC both up and back. Would definately stay here again.

There is a reason West Virginia is called Almost Heaven, because it is. Summersville Lake Retreat is one spot of this heaven. For anyone who loves to camp, whether it be tent, RV, or cabins, my husband and I highly recommend Summersville Lake Retreat. The campground is very well maintained and the views are spectacular. The owners and the staff are so friendly and very helpful either answering questions about the campground, questions about your site, and giving you information about this beautiful... Read More

For anyone who loves to camp, whether it be tent, RV, or cabins, my husband and I highly recommend Summersville Lake Retreat. The campground is very well maintained and the views are spectacular. The owners and the staff are so friendly and very helpful either answering questions about the campground, questions about your site, and giving you information about this beautiful part of West Virginia. They are very knowledgeable of this area of the state. They offer great recommendations of things to do, places to see and the best restaurants. The hosts guiding you to your sight are exceptional. They are friendly and very helpful. The bath house is spotless. The showers are wonderful. Plenty of hot water and great water pressure. The play area for kids will take care keeping the young ones busy. Then there is the lighthouse. The Summersville Lake Lighthouse was erected overlooking Summersville Lake in Mount Nebo, West Virginia on October 17, 2012. Standing 104 feet tall with a top elevation of 2,164 feet above sea level, the 77,000 lb. structure was a cylindrical tower constructed entirely of 1/2 inch thick steel. With a base diameter of 12 feet receding to 8 feet at the top, visitors can climb 122 steps to reach a 360 degree gallery deck offering unparalled views of Summersville Lake and the Gauley River National Recreation Area. For those of you that have not experienced it, give it a try. I guarantee you will love it.

We came in about 7-8pm and really just driving through, so didn't get to take in everything this CG had to offer. The host was super nice and helpful. The view of the lake was amazing, the overall condition of the camp and trails were clean. Would definitely stop by again.

This is the third time we have stayed at this park and it was delightful as usual. The staff are always very friendly and a wonderful resource if you are staying more than one night. There is plenty to see in the area especially the dam, where the fishing is good. There are plenty of places to walk and let your dog run. The sites are leveled gravel and the roads are very well kept. The pictures you see on their info page are exactly what you see when there. The views are wonderful. We will always... Read More
