Ignore all those comments from 2019 and before Shady Acres became a Cove Community "Blueway". We have been here twice for two months. Absolutely fantastic. With 2 pools, daily activities and entertainment I dare say you would be hard pressed to find a better park. The staff are wonderful and the manager has received an award for being the best of all the Cove Communities. With the plans that Cove has for Blueway it is only going to get better. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.
We had a great stay. Many activities and the pools are just amazing! Friendly staff that makes sure you have a pleasant stay.. very reasonable rates as well. Look past some old reviews and give them a chance it looks like they are really improving their campground.
We decided to do a Florida STAYCATION. We live in the Florida Keys. Shady was recommended to us by a friend and we are glad they did! We wanted to pop to the mainland and relax. Shady provided us a great time! They have a fabulous pool area! My son loved riding his scooter all around the park. Located right down the street from a State Park. We really enjoyed our stay!
Extremely difficult to deal with, they take the deposit before your done with finalizing the reservation, also the deposit is a lot higher than other more expensive parks.
I have stayed at this park for 6 years. The park was ok, but the residents were what brought you back. Over the last 2 years it has just went down hill. The park does very little maintenance, electric and water goes off several times a week. Use of a surge protector is a must, or you risk damage to your unit. The roads are terrible, most lots are extremely small. There are camera's and recording devises in office and around recreation hall and the pool area, that are monitored. They advertise... Read More

The roads are terrible, most lots are extremely small. There are camera's and recording devises in office and around recreation hall and the pool area, that are monitored. They advertise free wifi, non existent. Yes they are pet friendly at $5.00 per day per pet for less than 3 month stay,or $75.00 a month 3 month or more. The activities are provided by recreation committee (resident provided) not park sponsored. If you have a package delivered, they charge $2.00 per package, only payable by credit card, only if they don't return it to sender. If you do have a box on site, mail also gets a return to sender. Also, on there price list it say's they accept cash, check, or credit card, not true. Credit card only. They raised the price, but this park is not comparable to others in area. So, do I recommend this park, absolutely not.

Not sure how this park has received the high average numbers. We have been coming to Shady Acres for 12 years and this is our last. It was the most economical park in the area. It is convenient to shopping, restaurants, beaches and medical facilities and pets were accepted at no extra charge. The park is family owned and management has changed within the family to the degree that it is not a pleasant park to return to. In addition to the poor infrastructure of the park (poor roads, poor electrical,... Read More

It is convenient to shopping, restaurants, beaches and medical facilities and pets were accepted at no extra charge. The park is family owned and management has changed within the family to the degree that it is not a pleasant park to return to. In addition to the poor infrastructure of the park (poor roads, poor electrical, shallow water lines), management has increased monthly fees to over $1,000 for stays 3 months or longer, $75.00 for pets, $75.00 for mailboxes and an additional $2.00 fee for each package you have delivered. You can rent a Post Office Box at a regular post office for $60.00 for six months and not get charged for packages. There is a sign, when you enter the park, that reads Guests become friends and friends become family. Here is how they are treating family: Approximately 26 families were served with eviction notices over the summer stating they had to move their units to another site or leave. If they left they were responsible for the cost of tearing down their units. Management wants to attract high-end RV's to the park. Until major infrastructure corrections are made, it is not safe for an RV. If you question a policy or try to offer constructive criticism, you will get the response of If you don't like it leave. When we first started coming to Shady Acres trash service was provided twice a week as well as lawn maintenance. The last 5 or 6 years trash service was discontinued and lawn maintenance is sporadic. It is a shame the park has deteriorated to this degree.

When we arrived we were greated with only 1 person in the office and waited close to 20 minutes until the phone stopped ringing while other employees just walked thru the office and never offered to hepl us or her. Then our escort took us to our site which someone was parked in and had to wait till they found him. The concrete pad was all busted up they had piles of cut trees and roots piled up behind us and of course we heard the same story "we are full" I dont know how everyone said they hated... Read More

Long term campers said they were finishing this winter and already made plans at another location. Great pool and that was it

I have been in the park for five years. It was a good park when I first came here. The last two years the owner has been the manger. She the rudest person. The park is ran down . Electric is very poor, lots are not taking care of, waterlines break all the time and office staff is poorly trained. I have a lot of great friends I have made in this park. The sign as you come in States were friends become family. That is very true, the sad thing is over half the park is leaving next year to fees... Read More

That is very true, the sad thing is over half the park is leaving next year to fees going up charging for dogs and the rudeness of the owner. I would not recommend it to anyone.

We stayed for 30 days over Christmas and New Years. This park was only a couple miles from family, so we booked a year in advance. Our only request was a open, satellite friendly site. Upon arrival they escorted us to a heavily treed site blocking the southern sky! We asked to be moved but the manager refused, saying they were booked up and had no other sites available. She actually said we need to contact our satellite provider! To what, cut down the trees! She did say we were welcome to leave,... Read More

She actually said we need to contact our satellite provider! To what, cut down the trees! She did say we were welcome to leave, without refund! While enduring our stay without satellite and very spotty over the air reception. We counted no less than 20 available sites that would have accommodated us! The management were unwilling to accommodate our request not because they couldn't but because they wouldn't! Very disappointing and will never stay here again!

Other than that park campers were friendly, restrooms were cleaned daily and laundry room when not flooded was good, pool was very small, wi-fi so so.
Trash area was always full and stunk, felt sorry for sites near it, I would have left.
