We had last stayed at this campground in 2015. While recent reviews have been negative we gave it another try and liked it. Its not perfect but a nice campground. They recently redid their pool and other areas of the resort. In general its well kept but needs a little more work. Our site could have been more level and other sites looked like they could use some work. On the plus side was the live entertainment that was a great band! Also the staff were super friendly and nice. We will be... Read More

We stayed with 4 groups of friends on 4 different sites for a long weekend. Most of the sites are large and easy get in and out, however, signage really needs to be updated and replaced. It's extremely difficult to find your actual campsite. There is an older section of the campgound where sites are very close together but would be fine for smaller campers. The entire campground has dead trees that need to be removed, making some site extremely unsafe. Sections of the campground were not... Read More

It's extremely difficult to find your actual campsite. There is an older section of the campgound where sites are very close together but would be fine for smaller campers. The entire campground has dead trees that need to be removed, making some site extremely unsafe. Sections of the campground were not even mowed. From our perspective, they thrive off of their annual Bluegrass Festival and have failed to put any money back into the campground at all over the past 30+ years. The mini-golf looks worn out, the tiles around the pool need replaced/repaired. Flags along the entrance road were missing. Most of the playground equipment looks like it's from the 1970's, with a few exceptions of a wooden ship and wooden castle. The lake is overgrown with algae/weeds. The smaller trout pond looked much better. Adding gravel to the roads and site pads would be a huge improvement. The bathhouse was clean. I was at this campground as a kid in the 1980's and not much has changed...and that's not a good thing. We took time during our weekend stay in Gettysburg to tour several other area campgrounds and the Gettysburg Campground, KOA Campground and Drummer Boy Campground are far superior to Granite Hill, which is a shame as Granite Hill has a great location with lots of potential.

We recently stayed in the Granite Hill Campground as our friends camped there many years ago and said it was a good location for our visit to Gettysburg. There were no discounts honored as it was a special event weekend. The site we were given was the most unlevel site even though we were told it was a level site. We backed into a very tight spot with our 20 foot travel trailer and were very close to trailers on either side. The bathrooms were horrific. They needed some serious cleaning and... Read More

They needed some serious cleaning and had probably not been upgraded in many years. There is a WIFI hotspot but in lieu of the premium price we paid there should be WIFI throughout the campground.

Great place during the day. I have a 43' motor coach put in a small site that was easy in and horrible to get out. We had a extremely noisy campers beside us . LOUD party till 11:30pm or?, at that time I called the office-no answer, looked for security-none. We went home for the night and returned the next day for the coach. I Camped here since 1967. Emailed the campground of this incident with no reply. GUESS They don't CARE! No return from me.
Dirty showers, restrooms not cleaned or waste paper emptied. Laundry room folding table dirty. Only one washer working. No sign on broken one. Sites need to be leveled and the ruts filled in.
OMG. Showers/ restrooms might have been cleaned sometime but not sure when. Pull through site, in name only. Narrow roads, heavily treed, very tight sites. Sites not close to being level, ours was on a hill. Run down and ill kept. Nice old farm but needs tons of TLC. No kids so not interested in "fantasy golf" or paddle boats. WiFi available in office only. Save your money and go to Walmart parking lot instead.
Beautiful grounds but when we asked if my daughter, her husband and two kids could visit our site, they wanted 20 dollars - $5 dollars a person and they didn't care they weren't using the facilities - we were here for 5 days for a wedding and we can't invite friends and family to stop by our 5th wheel. This is highway robbery because now we can't go somewhere else - they have my money. Be sure to call first and asked detailed questions - by the way - no wifi unless you are in the office or sitting... Read More

I have been coming to this campground since I have been born. My wife and I are now continuing the Family Granite Hill Tradition! We actually stayed at GH twice this year, once in April, and once in October. We usually stay up in the "B" area and love it up there. The facilities are wonderful and its only a quick jaunt into town. The sites are pretty large and relatively level.
Seemed like a reasonably well kept campground, it was rainy so we didn't use all of the facilities. The staff was friendly though we didn't see them much unless we went to the camp store(which I don't mind). There's a mini-golf course on site, paddle boats, fishing pond, arcade etc. The utility connections were functional but looked like they're dated and needed upkeep. Also not all sites have gravel parking pads, be sure to ask if you're arriving during wet weather. Overall an enjoyable stay. Read More

The location is ideal for visiting Gettysburg, only 8 miles straight down the road. It's a beautiful old farm; however, two of the 4 showers were not working properly, The staff was NOT knowledgeable about the facility's history or shuttle service to the national battlefield. Looked overall like management was not on top of things at all. We give it a 2 overall, and would stay somewhere else on our next trip through.
