We were told that they are updating. We were put into a small and cramped site with year-round units on both sides. It was a 90 degree back-in spot between the junk the neighbors on both sides has placed all over. The pad was soft grass. The water quality was good although pressure was on the low side and the fitting by the faucet leaked. This is one of the more expensive stops on our tour and did not have much in the way of ammenities. WiFi was extra. We did not see the pool as it was under repair.... Read More

Our site did have a 50A hookup, sewer and water. No cable however.
The staff was fairly friendly.
Overall, Ramblers Rest is not on our return to list, not unless they change, remodel and offer ammenities fitting for the price they charge. I am not even sure if we got the Good Sam discount.

Decent friendly park, clean and pet friendly. My problem is they are doing schedule water line maintenance during the busy season and took out the water line by mistake now 3 times in 1 one, wow.... why would you do scheduled maintenance during snowbird season, stupid. Each time they break the line there are boil restrictions in place. What an inconvenience this 3 times in 1 week and now 5 times over all so far. We won't be coming back.....
Stay far away from this place if your rig is over 30', needs anything more than 30 amp, or has more than zero slide-outs. What a nightmare this place is if you need anything more than that. Wal-Mart parking is more enjoyable! We would have been gone in a second if there was ANY other place that had a spot within 100 miles. However, with that said, if you have a small rig, love being packed in like a sardine, and want to overpay for your stay.... this is your spot! Of note: I did add 1 star... Read More

Of note: I did add 1 star to the "overall rating" because when we plugged in my rig surge protector told me the electric had reversed polarity. They arrived quickly to fix this issue... so, that is 1 good thing for them. Of course.... reversed polarity... well, not good... be sure to have a surge protector if staying here to let you know if their electric is going to damage your rig or not.
OH... one last thing....not a good place if you have pets..... "Beware of alligators". I thought it was a joke until I was walking my dogs and someone passed by on a bike and warned me about the 'gators.
Plan ahead and get a spot somewhere else. You'll thank me!

Lot where we parked was small and I wish we had taken time to pick site when the gal from park drove us to site before we parked. People camping were really nice and there were tons of activities. It was a cold month when we stayed and we really spent more time in the surrounding area. Pool was nice, kids in hot tub was my only complaint. Watch out for septic area in back, odor is pretty bad off and on. Walking at night was lovely, I would return! Sites were very muddy due to severe rains last winter.... Read More

They did spread gravel when I pressured them but it took a couple weeks, that's the reason for the 4 stars.

Made reservations at Ramblers Rest in January 2016 for a Class A motorhome Premium Site. We got there March 16 expecting to get a nice site. When I checked in the office clerk told me they had given away our site and said they would have to put us in a smaller site. I insisted on going to see it to make sure we could even get in to it. It was next to a "permanent resident" who had trash and junk everywhere even overflowing to our site. She was going to charge the same price for the smaller site... Read More

When I checked in the office clerk told me they had given away our site and said they would have to put us in a smaller site. I insisted on going to see it to make sure we could even get in to it. It was next to a "permanent resident" who had trash and junk everywhere even overflowing to our site. She was going to charge the same price for the smaller site as she had for the premium site. After insisting that I speak with the Manager she disappeared into the Manager's Office then came back and reduced the price by a whopping $5. Had it not been so late in the day we would have gone somewhere else. My husband had difficulty getting into the small, narrow site where we immediately found 3 big piles of dog poop! When we put out our slide we were on top of the trashy sites junk. The view was horrible unless you like looking at trash and old, rundown RVs with weeds sticking up everywhere. We will never stay here again! I would not recommend Ramblers Rest.

We were sent to our "pull through" site for our 37' motor coach with a map and an arrow. The roads were single lane and tightened further by landscaping/fencing/vehicles from more permanent campers. Thanks to a resident we were finally able to find our not so pull thru site which was partially occupied by another pick-up. This resort is not designed for RVs of today and the utilities are equally outdated. We would not recommend it to anyone. The curb appeal makes the resort look real nice but... Read More

Love the campground - nice and homey with lovely trees. Only thing I was surprised to find was no cable and paying extra for internet. Can't use our digital antenna because of the lovely trees! :) Also the rate that was quoted to stay didn't include an additional charge for electric.
