Got there during rain storm half the park was flooded. Bathroom definitely not a 9. Sites are small.
This park does not live up to advertising on Good Sam or the parks website. The pictures do not reflect the current conditions. The park is need of serious maintenance. There are significant potholes at entry and throughout the park. The trees overhang the road that scrape the top and side of our Motorhome. The long term residents (at least 50% of the park) are living in RVs that are old and need of repair. The sites are unkept, trashy and despicable. Empty sites have discarded equipment... Read More

Friendly and helpful staff. Provided escort to site which was very nice as it was quite dark in park. Could not log on to Wifi. Didn't use restroom, so no rating there.
Water is deliscious, it is filtered and not as better than most. Girls were helpful and park was clean, and quiet
This is a copy of the letter sent to Good Sam- Hello, we have been a GS member & full timing since 2013 and have relied on your ratings! Thank you for your services..... however you need re-review Midessa Oil Patch RV Park in Odessa, TX. This was our first time here and relied on your review. If you research, this campground has had "hazardous" water issues as far back a January of 2012. This campground tells you "Do Not Drink the Water or cook with it." This was our first time here and relied on your review. If you research, this campground has had "hazardous" water issues as far back a January of 2012. This campground tells you "Do Not Drink the Water or cook with it." I researched "Nitrates in Water" why would you even want to shower or swim in it. Nitrates in water is a factor in "Blue Baby" deaths!!! I did not even hook up to their water, so not to have it in my RV system! You are doing a dis-service by misleading your members with a high rating and that it is ok to stay at Midessa Oil Patch.

The girl in the office was very nice. Its the only RV Park in the area that has trees and grass. Most of the people in the park are Oil Workers living there. Park was clean and I felt safe there. They do give you a case of water since the water is not safe there. Getting to the Park you drive thru a rather shabby area.
We stayed here for 2 nights with our 33 ft 5th wheel on our way to El Paso, TX. Medium size park (130 spaces) but narrow sandy gravel streets. Narrow sandy gravel pads (barely wide enough to accommodate slide outs). Nice trees at most sites, but since it rained the whole time we were here I can't say how much shade. Some spots may be a problem for rigs bigger than ours. Our spot was near the propane area which made me kind of nervous (but at least we weren't in one of the sites near the dump site... Read More

Our spot was near the propane area which made me kind of nervous (but at least we weren't in one of the sites near the dump site or the dumpster). Only fast food places to eat nearby. Adequate Wifi for minimal surfing/texting/emailing. Not good enough to stream movies! DON'T drink the water! Some reviewers complained about "contaminated" water. I don't know about that, but there is a high nitrate/nitrite content. They give you a case of bottled water when you check in and when we asked about the water the office said the water was "deemed safe to drink by the State of Texas". Even so, she said she does not drink the water or give it to her dogs. Office staff was very nice and helpful as was the man who guided us to our site. Area is completely surrounded by oil industry and probably fracking. Some train and highway noises during the day. But seemed quiet at night which was nice.

I suggest that Good Sam review the ratings it gives to this park. The grand water is contaminated and can not be used for drinking, so they give you bottled water. Contaminated with What? Do not feel comfortable to shower or wash dishes. This is not a 3rd World Country.First RV park in over 20 years of RV travel that had contaminated water supply!
Don't Drink the water, that would have been nice to Know when I made the reservation, at least they gave us a case of bottled water when we arrived but I will still have to purge the system at my next stop. Sewer backed up right next to my RV, I reported it and they said they were working on it But never came to do any clean up they just let it soak into the ground. Buy your propane before you get any where close to this county. The RV park has a 5 Gal minimum but it must fit in one bottle, I tried... Read More

Buy your propane before you get any where close to this county. The RV park has a 5 Gal minimum but it must fit in one bottle, I tried to just top off my tanks and would be required to pay for 5 gallons for each bottle even if they only have room for 2.5 gal in each not to mention the $3.50 per gallon price. I tried several other propane companies in the county and it was priced by the bottle size, it did not matter how much was still in the bottle. Best price I found was $60 for 100 pound bottle ok if it is empty but if half full, I would be paying $6.00 a gallon. This maybe the nicest RV park in the area but that does not make it a good one.

A nice and quiet park. The water was bad and we were told not to drink it. They gave us water to accommodate us and we only had to be there one night. The girl in the office was very pleasant about the problem.
Stayed one night in 31" travel trailer. Easy to get to but service road to entrance was rough and had pot holds due to heavy oil tanker traffic. It had been raining heavy for several days before our arrival so all area roads were muddy. Our site was gravel, drained well and we had no issues pulling in. Site long enough we did not unhook for the night. Bathrooms were clean. Swimming pool area was nice but not open yet for season. Water was contaminated but they provided all the bottled water... Sites were narrow and short for our class A and trailer. It had been raining and there wasn't enough gravel on the site so it was muddy. Bathrooms were on the street side of the office and a long way from our site so we never used them. Ok for overnight but wouldn't want to stay longer.
Not a good stay at all. The park water is not safe to drink according to the front desk so they have to give out bottled water when you check in. The owner is exceptionally rude and unpleasant. We will not be coming back.
We also needed a night on our return home to NC rainy night and the people were great rates were reasonable. They had water problem as far as drinking so they gave us case of bottle water for overnight. They were the friendliest. Ps fenced in dog park loved it. I would recommend it. in dog run
Stayed one night passing thru the area. Big Rig Friendly- easy to get in and out of assigned space. Park was full- most of the spaces are taken by people working in the oil industry. The staff said they are a well known RV Park - (the only one in the area with grass and shade trees)- and have a waiting list for people wanting to get spaces for monthly rentals. They have a "do not drink the water" ban in effect related to ground water contamination. This really was not an issue because the park... Read More

WIFI worked reasonably well.
