Counter people were very helpful. this park had the best wifi strength. no buffering at all for the 3 days we stayed. bathrooms were very clean. the back in site we had was adequate for pop outs on both sides. thanks again for the help from the front desk.

We agree with other reviews about the VERY tight sites! With the RV next to us we could not put out even one chair or extend our awning. The campground is next to a busy and loud highway, but is located near Old Colorado City for sightseeing. The people we dealt with were friendly. The laundry, bathroom, and showers were very clean. We saw what appeared to be long-term RVs. We have a 32-foot Class C and we could park our Jeep Cherokee behind our RV. There is a fenced dog park and a daily newspaper... Read More

The primary drawback is the tenement-style sites with absolutely no privacy or outdoor space.

Review of Gold Field RV Park in DownTown Colorado Springs, Colorado . . . . . . . . . . . . Review of Gold Field RV Park in DownTown Colorado Springs, Colorado . . . . . . . . . . . . When the reservation were made, they assured us we could park a 65 foot truck and bumper pull toy hauler in their RV Park as we traveled across the county. As we drove to the location after a 453 mile drive from Grants NM that morning. I was worried about an RV Park in downtown Colorado Springs. We were told we would have a pull thru slot and we didn’t have to disconnect the truck and trailer. That would have taken 2 hours to disconnect and 2 hours the next morning to reconnect the trailer due to the weight distribution hitch. Once we arrived, they told us they didn't have a pull thru nor a slot for a 65 ft long RV setup. The gal there offered something that would not work so we were going to leave. I needed to use the restroom and she wouldn’t give us the code for the bathroom. She took us to the restroom to unlock the door. When asked how to get back to Highway 24 which we took thru the streets of downtown CS she said to drive thru the small lot and go back out to Highway 24. I left the RV Park and turned the corner that had the view blocked. As the truck made the turn I know could see a wall of concrete barricades. When she was telling us how to leave, she was more worried about the bathroom code than the customer that had been lied to. She didn’t even tell us how to exit into the neighborhood surrounding the RV Park that was not set up to handle RVs that require a large turning radius. The result was, that it damaged the Toyhauler due to an inadequate turn radius. We had to back up thru the city street and back up thru a Stop Sign to get headed in the right direction to a truck stop for fuel and to spend the night. So if you have a very small trailer and want to spend a lot of time in downtown Colorado Springs this is the campground for you. But if your vacation does not include a crowded RV Park in a congested downtown park stay clear of this Small RV Park.

This RV Park has multiple units packed in with several permanent residents filling the gravel park with parked cars and older model trailers. This is not a place to stay if you are looking for a view or privacy. We had a one night stay as a travel stop so it served that purpose. Staff was polite.

Sites 5 through 15 are listed as pull thru sites and are listed 19 feet wide by 75 feet deep. We stayed (thankfully one night) in June 2020. The site was so narrow that our steps came within 2 feet of the neighbor to the right and only the full hook up equipment kept the neighbor to the left from being as close. The camping was so close we could not pull thru to exit the next morning. Lucky site #11 opens up to the driveway for sites 39-50, so we could back up into that driveway to leave... Read More

Skip this park if you can. Super crowded, trash all around and they pack you in so tight, a lot of people have to park their trucks/cars/toads on the street. The park states clearly on their check in brochure that they will not be held responsible for any thefts, etc.......... and you still have to park your truck somewhere you cannot see it at all times. There is TONS of highway noise because this sits directly on Highway 24. It is close to most things, but that's the only perk. NO GRASS anywhere... Read More

This campground is near Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. That's the best thing about it. It's a very crowded urban campground with some shade, but not a sprig of grass. Lots of daytime traffic noise, but quiet enough at night. Campsites are so small that there's barely room to deploy slideouts, forget about awnings. Wifi was intermittent, and the staff didn't care. Appears to be a long-term parking spot for construction workers.

Recently we stayed at this campground and we were very disappointed at the conditions. No one escorted us to our reserved spot then after being setup we had to move our trailer over in the midst of rain. While going to walk our dog the walking trail was so overgrown you could not get through to where ever the park was so we walked in the parking lot. The trailers (50) were so close together you literally walked out of our trailer into the water spigot and slide out of the trailer next to us.... Read More

The one thing that impressed us was the cleanliness of the laundromat. Needless to say this is one RV park we will not be recommending to others.

i would strongly recommend against staying here .for a number of reasons.number 1 being not a nice campground at all.

4 4 out of 5 stars 07/22/2017

The location was great. Did not like the shower area but I like them to be completely private. Would stay here again

I will start with bathrooms. Not good, awful. We were there for 6 days and the bathrooms were cleaned 1 time. Good Sams should be ashamed for giving this place a 9 on the restrooms/showers. The camp sites are not really camp sites, just RV and Buses craned together. I will never go back there again.

2 2 out of 5 stars 05/25/2017

PARK SITS RIGHT ON A BUSY THOROUGHFARE SO SLEEP ELUDES YOU EVEN WITH EAR PLUGS. THE RESTROOMS ARE IN NEED OF UPGRADING. AND NOT THE FAULT OF THE RV PARK BUT SEVERAL HOMELESS PEOPLE LIVE IN THEIR AUTOMOBILES ON THE STREETS. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE.

2 2 out of 5 stars 02/08/2017

We stayed there in late Dec 16, only one night, very very tight spots, hard to pull in and out with a 31 ft and pulling a car. Gravel pads and not very level, the park is full of full timers not a bad thing just a heads up. The park could use a re-model, very old. We did not use the rest rooms so can't rate them. We would not stay there again.

2 2 out of 5 stars 11/14/2016

I have a 40 ft 5th wheel and getting into a the small cramped spaces here was very difficult. The park is mostly populated by people living there full time which I suspect is for the cheep rate. Owners are nice however.

The folks here are terrific and very helpful. It is right in the middle of everything you want to see. Pikes Peek, Garden of the Gods, old town Colorado City. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the park. Very narrow sites and roads make maneuvering very hard. WiFi is almost nonexistent. I was able to get on only a few times in a week. Good Sam should have some kind of minimum requirements for the park to say it has WiFi. One more point, it is 40 yards from highway 24 and you can't sleep with... Read More

We traveled all over the west in 2 weeks. This was the worst campground we stayed at. The showers were terrible. No place to put your clothes. Camping spots were close and not enjoyable at all.

2 2 out of 5 stars 09/12/2015

Small, tight spaces, wifi not good. I have never stayed at an rv park that reads electric meters and charges extra for electricity.

3 3 out of 5 stars 09/07/2015

Park is very small. Hard to get into & out of. Not very big rig friendly.

3 3 out of 5 stars 08/15/2015

Pro: Situated near most visitor features. Friendly, helpful staff. Con: Sites are very close to each other. I literally had about two feet between rig and neighbor. (both sides) No room for sitting outside or cooking, Geared for people who spend their time visiting tourist sites . Only about 200 feet from major highway ( US 24) which generates some noise.
