I just returned from this camp. While it is beautiful, and well maintained, I would not recommend it for persons who might need assistance due to their disability. I was harmed by another camper on the basis of my disability and the camp manager would not allow me to move to another space to accommodate my disability needs. The other camper caused me a life threatening reaction. I then asked if they would unplug me, so I could get away from the harmful substance, without further being exposed. The... Read More

The other camper caused me a life threatening reaction. I then asked if they would unplug me, so I could get away from the harmful substance, without further being exposed. The camp manager claimed to assist me would be a "liability" to them. She wouldn't let the camp hosts do it. So I was trapped, helpless, and afraid, having a horrible reaction and unable to get to my medicine. The camp manager was more worried about "liability" than my life. This is a violation of ADA law! So if you have a disability, and may need some assistance to access and safely enjoy the Wallowa/Whitman National forest, this is not a good, or safe camp, for you. If you are blessed enough to be healthy, its a beautiful place to stay.

This is a National Park campground. It's gorgeous! We stayed 3 nights in a fifth wheel in mid Sept and it wasn't crowded at all. It had good paved roads with gravel and dirt sites. Our section had full hookups and a larger loop had water and electric. The sites were level and spacious. It was in a large forest with trails and a lake. Due to the drought the lake was WAY down. It was very quiet and relaxing. We would stay here again.
