We enjoyed staying here, and even extended our stay! It is very fun but expensive. There are so many things to do for adults and kids. Once you get settled in the very narrow and close quarters spot, you'll enjoy the wilderness feel. Honestly, the spots are ridiculous to get in to with a big RV and made me want to give up and leave! We rented a golf cart and just loved riding around. There was a food truck night, but also just use the app to pre-order food from the restaurant. Dogs are welcome here... Read More

Dogs are welcome here BUT there are fireworks on average of twice per night and the dogs HATE it. The bus and boat transportation was very convenient too.

Like always, Disney does a great job at it's resorts. The site was large with a concrete pad. Everything was in good working order and no issues. The laundry/rest rooms were a very short walk. WiFi was only available at the rest room area. The landscaping of the loop was excellent and from in the site, you barely knew there was another camper about 25 feet away. Visiting during COVID definitely changed the experience. They actually preferred that you drive yourself to the parks or... Read More

Visiting during COVID definitely changed the experience. They actually preferred that you drive yourself to the parks or other locations, instead of taking the transportation system. You just had to scan your Magic Band to park for free. The crowds were smaller, but the hours were shorter too.

This is by far the cleanest campground with all the best one would expect from Disney.
It for sure has the Disney touch so it's going to be expensive, but well worth the price. Fort Wilderness is like it's own private city, VERY clean and buses take you anywhere you need to go. Large campsite, and neighbors were great. VERY courteous to my service dog, and there's plenty to do just within the campground, not to mention the Disney parks just a bus ride away.
This is a really nice campground just as you would expect from Disney. All are back in sites. You are on your own regarding finding your campsite and backing into it. There are three classes of sites depending on amenities. All have nice concrete sites, grill & picnic table in additional to usual water, sewer, electric, & cable. I was impressed that before the site is rented to the next RV'r , it is blown clean and washed down. You don't need a car since the bus service is really good to all... Read More

If you have a tow car & a large rig, parking the car is really tight, but there is a large parking lot at the front of the park

Had issue with elec had to call private rv repair to determine electric problem was disney's. Not even a we're sorry for your trouble.
This was the cleanest, most friendly place we have ever camped!! The shower houses are clean and someone comes in several times a day to check on them. Our site was a full hook up with plenty of trees, solid concrete pad for our car and travel trailer and small sand pad in the back for setting up a tent. Swimming pool was warm and they also have a hot tub. Bus transportation provided to the parks or you can ride the boat to magic kingdom. Golf cart and bike rental available for use within the camp... Prices are high for convenience items that people might have forgotten to pack (cereal, coffee, milk, eggs, etc). Laundry was 3.00 wash/3.00 dry and was credit or debit card only. No cash accepted.

Spending two weeks here at Fort Wilderness, and really loving the experience everything is kept very well, it's super nice and peaceful here!
Even without the Disney parks, Fort Wilderness Campground is a great place to stay. We find a sense of peace and quiet in the campground that is a welcome relief from the constant activity in the parks. The facilities are kept scrupulously clean and well maintained without losing the feeling of being "in the woods". There is a plethora of activities in the campground for Disney fans of every age and the parks are a 20 minute bus or boat ride away. The campgrounds are quite large and Disney will be happy to rent you a golf cart at reasonable rates - advanced reservations for golf cart rental is recommended, especially in peak season. There are a variety of activities in the campground for the youngsters under the watchful eyes of Disney cast members - I have seen children reluctant to leave the campground activities to go to the parks because they were having so much fun. Like Walt Disney World itself Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground is a magical place to camp.

I read the reviews online and I am dismayed about the praises that are given. I had a Premium lot which was tight. 40ft plus beware. Pad was mildewed and green brown. Service pole which you can see online is inoperative and crumbling. They has a secondary pole towards the back of the pad. Wait it gets better. If Golfcarts are your thing, they have hundreds running around with kids at the helm mostly and at all hours of the night. Beeping, running out of gas blocking the road. Laundry lines and multiple... Web Site is NOT reflective of what you pay for and pay you will.Ive was Mickey Moused. This is a real review.

Check in did not go well. First camp site was too small and I tried and tried but was not able to get in. Called front office while I was double parked at the circle entrance. Finally got a new site but did not know how or where to turn around. Got to main entrance and double parked in the road. Still no one to offer help I had a hunt an employee to find out where to turn around. Finally got to an acceptable site. The road in the camp site circle was tight. We stayed 4 nights at the Fort in late Feb 2016. It is a little on the expensive side, but worth it if you are seeing Disney. We arrived way before the 1PM check in time, and were sent to a full waiting area. Good thing we were in the RV, just chilled and waited until 1PM, They do clean each site up after each guest checks out. They texted our site number almost at 1PM exactly. We were in the 500 loop. They texted our site number almost at 1PM exactly. We were in the 500 loop. The 500 loop is an inside loop, adjacent to the dog park and within an easy walk to the marina area and the meadows pool. It is a very good location. From the marina, you can catch a boat to the Magic Kingdom, the Comtemporary or the Wilderness lodge. You take a campground shuttle bus to the front to catch another bus to the other attractions. You can also rent gold carts at $50 per day to get around easier.
We did not use the bath or laundry facilities since all is on board our RV. The site was clean, good size, 50 amp, cable, water and sewer. All worked fine. Plenty of activities. Very quiet at night. We will go again.

Very nice place to stay with plenty to do without having to visit any of the parks.... For dinner one night we ate at Trails End, it was very good for the price. We will for sure go back!!
The top of the line in campgrounds. The only negative is the very long check in line/time.
Easily made on line reservations 2 weeks prior to arrival. Check in was quickly done at the gate from the door of our coach. Directions to our back-in site were clear. The site was clean, tidy, level, and all connections in order and easily accessible. The restroom was next to our site well lit, well ventilated, clean and fresh. There are several restrooms located throughout the campground so all are within a short distance of sites. We never experienced any waiting. Bus transportation stops... Read More

Bus transportation stops are also very convenient with access anywhere on Disney property. The entertainment was fun in a very family friendly atmosphere. The entire campground is well shaded so no problem staying out of the sun. Security, maintenance, and services were all efficient. The best place to stay for Disneyworld area attractions or just to camp.

This is the nicest campground my family has ever stayed at. This was our second time staying here at Disney and it has been a delight both times. Clean park, easy to get around and the magical Disney touch on everything.
Best campground hands down. It is a little pricey but when you consider it is Disney, what else would you expect. There is so much to do and actually "free" activities for the kids. Only negative, you may need to get a cable box and modem form Disney if you want cable or internet.
The Disney experience doesn't stop at the Magic Kingdom, The Campgrounds at Fort Wilderness are just an extension!!! An amazing place that we'll never forget!! My children, 4 & 12, would go back and never leave the campground... It's just that good!!! Ton's of activities and special event's for the kids. Amazing bike paths and dog park, and it's golf cart friendly!!!
We didn't even hit a park! Had a wonderful time fishing, golf carting, eating, drinking and relaxing. 5 days of all of the above. Disney at its best! Been going there since I was a young woman with my parents and siblings. Now I'm showing my husband how to do Disney! And he loved it....
I have stayed at Fort Wilderness multiple times since 1985 and have never been disappointed. They are the gold standard for RV campground especially in customer service.
Stayed a week. Great place. Plenty to do.
