We love this campground. The nose to tail sites gave you a very private campsite area. This is pretty rare in most RV parks. The drive on highway 199 was beautiful in and out of Crescent city. We did not use the restrooms or the laundry. The office was neat, clean and the staff was helpful. There was plenty of area walk your dogs. The fenced dog area was right on the road and not very appealing.

Park is in a great location in between Redwoods National Park and the beautiful Smith River. The park is not beautiful, but they are trying. The grass was rather brown. The pull-through spaces were parallel to the park roads, which is a little different. So your neighbor is not next to you, they are in front and behind you. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided a list of interesting things to do in the area. The laundry room was ok, basic. I didn't use the shower facilities but did... Read More

The place is run down to an extreme. This is too bad because the location is fantastic. Faciliti s are extremely dated. Shower stalls are moldy and cruddy. Restrooms are in need of a lot of TLC. Wifi is useless. Grounds are in need of basic landscape. But there is hope. This lark has recently changed hands and the new owners are committed to bring it back up to resort standards. I would avoid for the next 6 months and check back to see how much progress they have made.

The spaces are roomy enough, and having the store and restaurant within walking distance is nice. The state park is just down the road if you don't mind a bit of a hike, or have a car or bike. The bathrooms were clean, but they do require tokens for the showers. The rec room has a pool table and tv. One bath and shower for 125 spaces. It was a long way from our space. Clean and the staff was friendly. I was expecting to be on the river by looking at the pictures, and was disappointed in that respect.... Read More
